Unstoppable! - Incredible Silver Coin Day Metal Detecting a 200 Year Old Homesite!

- We began metal detecting in the front yard of this 1820s homesite because that’s where the most foot traffic would have been back then. Seems pretty straightforward and the day started off great with some old buttons, pewter cutlery, coins, and interesting relics from centuries ago. But then while talking to the homeowner he showed me some old photos of the house from the 1930s and I could see a small child playing near a structure in one of the pastures so I decided to check that area out, and holy cow was that a good decision. Silver coin after silver coin popped from the ground, all in incredible condition, including a monster that I very rarely find. Which each old coin I screamed out to Doug but he was having his own success searching around the house. Because I’m typically distracted with all the filming it’s a rare day when I find the most stuff, but this little girls childhood play area was so magical that on this day my machine was unstoppable!

I have been watching your videos for some time now, they always bring me a smile. I first became interested in metal detecting about 1973, but did not pursue it as a serious hobby. A couple of years ago, my wife gave me a metal detector for Christmas and it is a prized possession. My wife passed away this past May and your videos are one of the few things that bring light into my life. I really like the way you have nicknames for all the detectors in your group. You and Doug are great personalities and are very entertaining, the antiques expert lady is very good also, she is missed when she is not in a video. If there is a CZcams award for excellence in video production, you should get it. Thanks for everything.

Your candle holder was probably a wall sconce and the slot was where the arm was that attached it to the rest of the fixture

Once in a while you mention value when they're huge. Thanks for that. It's kind of neat to attach a price to it like you might price an ounce of gold. But here we're talking about collectors. That's what makes it so dicey.

I've been putting coil to soil for years and often get a few pennies and a bunch of bottle caps... Once in a while I get quarters and nickel or two... But I get an abundance of beaver tails and newer ring pulls!!! I'm in it for the exercise and fresh air at nearly 70 years old now days and still locking forewords to my first silver coin... I do a whole lot of research before a hunt trying to improve my chances of older coins and hunt historical places amap legally or w/permisions!!! ;-) Nice to at least see that Silver Half come back into the light of day!!! THANKS for your Work & Time bro!!!

I was testing a Bounty Hunter Pioneer 202 in my sister`s yard and found a horribly worn Walking Liberty half. It looked like a blank round piece of metal. You can barely make out what it is in bright light.
With a Mighty Hi-Yo Silver you killed it Jason! Can't wait for the live feed Friday.

What a fun channel. I started detecting when I was 6 years old with a Radio Shack bright orange one dial detector that I purchased with my allowance money and a little Chanukah Gelt. LOL. I just sold my XP Deus, few years on that, for a new Legend. Can't wait until the ground is soft again to detect. We're in Connecticut. My wife has a Garrett Ace 350 and it's amazing how much cool stuff she also finds with a detector of a much lesser value and bragging rights. She's got a good ear. Did I say I can't wait to detect with my new Legend!!. Your energies are great, fun to watch. Thanks.

Good video and awesome finds! When I hunt someone’s yards, I always use a knife to cut a small plug and retrieve the items. When the owner looks at his yard, he can’t see where I have dug.

That soil is preserving the silver coins beautifully. For years all of the Mercury dimes I encountered were nearly smooth, it is SO nice to see them come out of the ground in remarkably good condition. I have a feeling you haven't found the old coins yet. Good luck! I will be watching.

Up here in Northern New York we dig lots of garbage and a few coins and some other things that we didn't expect but I will never quit swinging my detector and finding treasure and lots of junk steel made for the garbage, keep looking for buried treasure
