- In this episode I go over in the simplest terms how I teach folks to head offshore and hunt down pelagic fish like Mahi & Tuna. I head out of Boynton Inlet with some friends of the channel on their vessel for a day of on-the-water lessons, insight and knowledge sharing. The outcome is nothing shy of an action packed and information filled day on the water, coupled with down-to-earth explanations of my thought process on how I go about passing on years of experience fishing. The goal is that everyone can get out and have some great fun, all while creating memories and skills that'll last a lifetime. If you're looking to learn how to become a hunter of the sea... Or maybe just wanting to hear a different perspective on offshore trolling. Then this episode's for you.
Enjoy,
Tight lines & good vibes.

Going threw that inlet brings back memories. I've been out of there many times. Probably the scariest inlet I've been in.
Good detailed video. Seas were just right for you.
Nice fish today.
Tight lines.....
Boynton and Haulover are both super sketchy inlets.
Great job Heath!
love the content thanks man
If you’re ever in the panhandle I’d love to learn a few things!
Great video and info 👍🏼👍🏼
Went out last week. Always fun getting a bite on weed lines 🐟
Great vid. Rlly makes me wish I was on the water! Keep looking at pics of our trip.
The episode about our trip should be out next week.
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing looking forward!
Hi Heath, Fun day on the water. Nice Dolphin and Tuna and great information about trolling. I tried to troll at the pier, but I kept running into people. It wasn't pretty. I haven't been fishing from a boat in almost two years. Maybe some day. Say "Hi" to the Crew. We're doing well up here in Palm Bay. Good luck and have fun, Mickey
Hi Mickey, yep pier trolling can get messy. It was a good trip out, Paul is a great guy. Glad I've been able to help out some folks lately. Everyone here is doing good, my daughter says she might come visit us today. That'd be nice... I think she just wants some of the pulled pork I'm making 😆. Good to hear everything is going well for you. Stay safe. Talk to you soon.
Hi Heath, Hope you have a nice visit and she enjoys the pulled pork. Take care, Mickey
Looks fun! Gonna head out tomorrow with the kiddos, see if we can find some grass
Mahi been hanging out around 600 - 650
Ahhh, but I’m WAY up north in Destin. That said, you’re good luck! Commented on your vid, put a nice “wahoo in the boat!” this morning! First in over a year, couldn’t be happier

Good Video Teacher, see you on the Water!!! I like to you in your Boat!!!
Heath awesome helpful content. Do you troll any chin weighted ballyhoo? What's your go to top lure? Have you ever seen troll true weighted heads for ballyhoo
I don"t really use ballyhoo too often. Used it all the time growing up, rigged my own... if you're using it the weight helps to keep it streamline and swimming like a fish... otherwise it will tend to swim on it's side.

Hello , what fishing rod do you use to planer , what is the length and power ?
It's a 7 foot chaos rod with all roller guides and has an aftco butt on it. It is medium to heavy action 30 to 80 pound class.
Hi thank you for making these videos very informative. With that said I would like to go to Palm beach and take my boat out for mahi mahi when are they running closer to shore what months do you recommend for that ? Here in Georgia we have to go 70 plus miles to get to them .. thanks
The bigger mahi swim in close during November.
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing thank you. Do you do charters ? If not be willing to take one out fishing to learn the Florida waters pay for gas and etc. Be nice to go out with someone that knows the areas. Thanks again.
Good video. How deep it was?
Caught the mahi in 650... the Tuna was around 820
man i wanted to go out this weekend out of palm beach..but conditions didnt help 😟
Marine forecast was incorrect all weekend... went out Fri, sat and sun... Saturday had a NE wind so fishing was a bust... but Friday caught 12 mahi. Sunday hooked a sail, caught 1 king but got taxed, and caught 20 mahi with 3 nice keepers.
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing was it nice enough for a 17 foot like mine ? hahaha if so i want a time machine and go back to friday
@@orlandoduran7740 yes you'd been fine. I noticed disparities between NOAA and other marine forecasts... and what I actually saw outside. So I checked the Boca inlet web cam that has wind speed and direction lisitings... and that's how I planned the trips
@@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing i just got in the web cam for palm beach inlet and it looked flat calm yesterday the 28th.
@@orlandoduran7740 it was... wind shifted to ESE... so we headed out and pounded the mahi
What happened to you? Captain been a long time. Hope everything is good.
Everything is good. Getting ready for 2024... New episodes, tips, tricks and much more... Thanks for checking in... Have a happy & healthy new year
