    I’m curious about the waxing part. What purpose did the wax play over the paint? Finished up beautifully.

      Hi Lois, the wax layer gives you a more defined depth to the distressing and protects the dark layer underneath from being sanded off to the next layer, which in this case was raw wood. Skipping the wax layer will give you a softer distressed look, more blended and less defined layers. I hope that explanation helped and thanks for watching! Have a great week! :)
