  • Objectives:
    Promote the importance of reviewing laws, policies, and regulations related to mental health services in the Americas in accordance with human rights standards, adopting community-based, person-centered, and recovery-oriented approaches.
    Provide guidance and resources to strengthen mental health laws, policies, and programs in various sectors to ensure the provision of quality mental health services aligned with international human rights standards.
    Recognize and encourage the active participation and empowerment of individuals with lived experiences in legal review processes and decision-making regarding their different areas of life, care, treatment, and recovery plans.
    Facilitate the exchange of experiences among mental health professionals, human rights experts, and representatives from other sectors, including individuals with lived experience.
