- One of the metroparks in my town has this really cool living stream tank full of native species. I always enjoy seeing it whenever we visit with the family so I thought you guys would like to see it too. Big thanks to Debbie for narrating.

That's one of those little experiences you have as a child that you never forget.
Native-fish aquariums are the best. Looks great.
Wow this is the coolest aquarium I've seen in a while ....
They should livestream this live stream for pun's sake.
FlintSparked i swear every time i flick past this thumbnail i read it as live stream
FlintSparked lol....yes they should
Thats a great idea! Underwater cameras and all the works....NatGeo....indeed
Using a polarized lens will cut down on the glare a lot. Make the adjustments before starting the recording.
This is right near me. I had no idea something so cool existed. Thanks for letting me know so I can go check it out.
This just made my bucket list. Thanks Steve.
Darby Creek is the BEST park. This aquarium, the bison, the full moon night hikes.... If you live near Columbus, you just have to check it out.
I always thought about recreating a stream aquarium or a river aquarium. This is an awesome example. I know somebody will make a "home sized" of one of these. Great find Steve. Thanks for sharing.
Cagri Ergen look up "Walstad aquarium" and "Biotope aquarium". You won't be disappointed. Closest thing to a self sustaining aquarium with much less maintenance.
I've been to this place about 20 times i live about 5 minutes away from this park, and its amazing!!!
Wow! This is amazing! I love that it has all native species in it! The Beaver chews are awesome!
Thanks, Debbie! :)
Appreciate you taking the time to explain.
Cool tank! Thanks for sharing.
So cool! I'd love to have a set up like this ! Thanks for posting :-)
That’s so awesome. Thanks so much for sharing this with us
Tank goals, i might have to take a trip n see that in person
Absolutely breathtaking!
Awesome setup. Thanks for posting
This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. Love it!
Brother that is an awsome tank. I really like the naturalistic look it sets everything off. Thanks for sharing friend and have a great day brother man.
That's really neat! I like it
I'm in love with this tank 😍😍😍
Need one these streams in my house!
All that aquarium needs is a couple of old tires and some trash and beer cans and it would most definitely replicate the natural environment of the bayou’s near where I live. 😂
@@Lilblaisy23 what???
And a couple of homeless bums to boot. 😂
Dream tank. Beautiful.
That is really cool !! like the beaver den 😁👍☑
Awesome!! Such a cool idea .. I’m sure everyone is trying to figure out how to make a smaller version of this in thier house. Keep doing what you do! 😎🤙🏾
I love seeing unique designs
Thanks for sharing!
That is an incredible tank! Native aquatic and marginal plants in the tank might even make it more cool!
I brought my kids here about a month ago for the first time. it really is an amazing set up, and the fish do move up and down the stream. The smaller gar was near the top when we were there.
Awesome video man keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👍🏻 I love your fish to
It's beautiful!
Very clean and a good height for the kids to look into. Thanks for posting.
How can you tell. Its ALL out of focus except for the reflections of the windows behind the camera.
Really wicked thank you for sharing
A home stream would be great, winding through a living room. Just use a half pipe, so no glass cleaning would be needed.
That's so damn cool! Totally nerding out right now.
Whaaaaaat!? How did I not know about this? I am going to have to got here very soon with my kid, and make a video of it for my channel as well. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
There are also bison
Yeah, I saw they had bison on summer pasture when I clicked the link for the park's page. I don't remember Columbus Metro Parks being so cool when I was a kid...
Need to take my little one to Slate Run as well. I wonder what they have going on these days?
Pretty cool set up
Fascinating
That looks fricking amazing
That's awesome! I want one!
This is super cool.!
That’s awesome!
Beautiful
Been to this. It is awesome
Nice video great stream
Those turtles getting busy?😂 looks like a sweet spot Steve
I'm jealous, I love it.
That’s really cool
WOW Steve! Thanks for the tour of this magnificent installation! I've got to visit. Appreciate you sharing this with us! PEACE ✌!
That's crazy how I just get recommended this video and at first I thought it was coincidence how much it looked like Darby Creek. You should've also shown off the hellbender they have there too.
Monterey Bay Aquarium has spent millions but has nothing this approachable, charming, and real.
I live in Hilliard, and was just there the other day.
That is neat.
I've Just come across your channel Steve. That looked a fun place to visit. I'm subbed! 👍😀
Amazing 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Awesome
Amazing !!! Like
Wouldn't this be the sickest pleco tank!!!!
That is swank. I always wanted a scaled down version of this in my fish room.
I want a scaled up version but i have no space
Best tank
I like joey's 2000 gallon arowana and stingray tank
Ive been here it is by my old house its amazing
Where is this? I live in Grove City and have spent my life going to the local Darby parks and never seen or heard of this attraction? The link in your description was of no use to me. It might be on there but I struggled to find anything about it myself. Thanks!
Ewaldc23 Batelle Darby Creek metro park in Galloway
Hmmm. Wonder how many fish or frogs have jumped out. It's nice.
there going to want a lid for them gar soon!!!!
What species of mussel do they put in there?
They also have a few buffalo on site
Me and my cousin use to catch the rainbow darters in a stream we would sain it and try to keep them in a 5 gal.bucket. Im not sure if there still in stream i think i seen them on endangered spices list which broke my heart.
My dream tank but I'd do loaches as the bottom dwellers and rasboras and barbs as the shoalers
How on earth do they keep the frogs from jumping out and leaving?
Never knew of this place... and it’s close?!
Where is this?
Beautiful!! There are no plants, curious. All sorts of rocks, fish, turtles, even frogs but no plants...why?
Not enough light and the understanding of how to care for them I assume.
A lot of the cooler water, faster flowing streams don't have many plants in them
Carlos Sálico in most streams there are no plants 🤷🏼♀️
They do often have live tree roots, but true, not so many plants. Was this "stream" supposed to represent a cold water stream, because some of those fish looked more like river fish?
Peter Karig well these were all caught in a nearby creek apparently
The only thing missing is an old man living under the bridge
Darters so underrated
I believe those are long ear sunfish, definitely a creek fish.
Dope
good video, a polarizing filter on your lens will eliminate most if not all of the glare on glass and the water surface.
This was shot with a polarizing filter. It was so too bright in the room without enough light on the tanks to get ideal video.
Steve Poland Aquatics hmmm... I usually have no problem when eliminating glare when using a polarizing filter. Do you know if your filter is linear or circular? For digital cameras they need to be circular because cameras with autofocus already polarize some light for metering purposes and it could be off setting the one on the lens.
Just a thought. The video is still good and informative. :^)
You know what, it might just be a UV and not a polarizing. I will look into it. Thanks!
Steve Poland Aquatics I bet that’s what it is. be sure and get one that will rotate because it needs to block vertical light rays which is where the glare comes from. And you may have to turn it slightly depending on your angle to the glass or water surface. Also be aware that it will decrease your f stop some. But most cameras will compensate and if you’re outside or in a well lit room you shouldn’t notice. Also a side benefit is it will enrich colors. Just subscribed Looking forward to new videos.
They need to soften the look. Add some mosses, grasses, emergent plants. Here and there. Maybe a small Willow.
im in cleveland area..where is this?
Columbus
Am I the only one who is slightly confused by the fact that the speaking naturalist stated that they have a Jacuzzi sand filter being utilized to “trap some of the organic matter” from the closed system? I am assuming she is referring to the filtration system in its entirety which also consist of physical waste removal (such as socks, sponges or sediment filters); but fluidized bed filters (which is what my understanding of what a Jacuzzi sand filter is) does not remove any form of physical waste, but rather provides a perfect environment for anaerobic bacteria to colonize and digest nitrites into nitrates, which is ten times less toxic than nitrites, which is ten times less toxic than ammonia. So, 100ppm nitrates is equal to 10ppm nitrites which is equal to 1ppm ammonia (not exactly of course, but a rule of thumb for reducing toxicity).
I want this
I need this in my life lmao
Great tank, I feel like they just need a surface skimmer and maybe some better mechanical filtration but overall an amazing setup
How much better if it was tropical fish?..all that color, stripes, shapes. That would be all the aquarium you would ever need...a tropical stream in your home. Add,water plants, surrounding jungle plants. When I hit the lotto.
I feel like alot of what she was saying went totally over his head 😂
Hellbender paradise!
I wanna do this but with trout.
OK, OK, OK, OK Cool OK, OK, OK Cool OK, OK, OK Super Cool !!
I think its great that you can put your hand in and touch a beaver
Hey I have been there it was so cool say hi to deby for me
*brings fly pole*

Okay
i think the turtles need a basking spot.
So cool. Till the end where those big fish are. it’s way too small for them.
No trout???
