What about that time Mr. Krabs sold Spongebob's soul for 62 cents?
That rabbit hole deserves a video of it's own...
Worst deal ever! But MrCrabs knows how to swindle to get that extra coin.
Why isit iv seen this exact comment somewhere else LITERALLY within the last 7days?......🧐😵💫😱🤬🏴
That's a good deal if you ask me!
That was despicable…
Simon and Team; can I please thank you for the years and years of incredibly well done work? I stumbled across 'top tenz' like a decade ago and I've only seen every channel grow and continue to get better. Congratulations & well done all around.
I’ve been watching TopTenz since before Simon was the host. He has come along way since then on all of his channels and all of the teams he works with are all great at what they do and the research is accurate.
All that content, for absolutely free. Some might even call that an outrageously good transaction.
The guy took Napoleon's Bone Apart. My God man. Hahaha
Lustig hooked André Poisson like a fish.
“Poisson” is French for “fish” in case anyone didn’t get it
Lustig is "funny" in german btw xD
@@i5ten Almost sounds like an April Fool's prank, doesn't it? For those who don't know, April Fool's Day in France is known as Poisson d'Avril. Lusting, wouldn't you say?
You failed to add an S in the title fact boy, you had one job.
This is annoying me an unreasonable amount.
If title fact boy had added an "s", he probably would have added a superfluous apostrophe also, thinking that would make a plural.
He can’t find good help these days. Lol 😂
You have failed to avoid a comma splice error.
It’s actually the same outrageous transaction that happened five different times.
0:40 - Chapter 1 - Pepsico inc & the soviet navy
3:35 - Chapter 2 - The man who sold the eiffel tower twice
6:10 - Chapter 3 - Auctioning the roman empire
8:20 - Chapter 4 - Napoleon's penis
9:55 - Chapter 5 - The iran contra deal
I had heard about all of these except for Pepsi owning it's own fleet of Soviet ships. Talk about Cola Wars strategy!!
I'm surprised he didn't mention America's purchase of Alaska from the Russians in 1856 for $7.2 mil.
Known as the worst land deal in history - “Seward's Folly.”.
Russia lacked the capability to project power in the region and so the land was subject to invasion and seizure anyways. It was still an awful deal though.
Only in modern times, when oil was found.
Omg the background sound track at the beginning and end of this video is physically painful even at low volume. It makes my head feel like it's about to explode. Bizarre.
How about the Louisiana Purchase or when Russia sold the Alaskan Territory to the U.S. Both worked out well for us but lost France & Russia a ton of money in natural resources.
Terrible deals for both
The louisiana purchase was not too bad for us french, we bassically sold the US some territory that we mostly didnt held.
If it was a bad deal, it was for the native americans.
Yeah, France didn't want the territory and really only held the area around New Orleans, despite what the maps said. Either they were going to sell it, or abandon it.
@@nekot9274The sale of Alaska wasn't bad for Russia, either. It only barely held Alaska (not even as well as France held the Louisiana Territory), couldn't hope to defend it if attacked, and was worried that Britain would take it by expanding Canada. That would make Britain a threat from two sides. Significant oil wouldn't be discovered in Alaska until 1968, nearly a decade after oil was discovered in Siberia. Until then, Alaska was much more of a burden on the US, especially when it had to deal with the aftermath of the 1964 Good Friday earthquake that devastated large portions of the state, recovery from which required significant funding from the federal government.
@nekot9274 obviously the sale of Napoleon's 🍆 was way more impactful
Well, i just think about the Roman Empire again today. Thanks Simon 😂
You forgot Benedict IX, the man who sold the papacy!
That pizza transition at the beginning was so cool! I wanna know how you did that, since I assume no one was let out of the basement to pass pizza in front of the camera...
Always remember that the word con, as in "con game" or "running a con", is short for Confidence.
If you look and act like you belong somewhere or have some authority, most people immediately accept it.
Nice video
That effect of stock footage in front of Simon is very cool editor. I'd use that again, don't remember seeing that on YT before.
Title typo. Good video though!
@simonwhistler , hey man, love your Stuff, I've just searched for a list of all your channels and couldn't help but notice you're not in a few of them lol, maybe you produce them? Or the list is wrong? Xplrd is empty 😮💨 plans for it?
Nice suit my dude. I appreciate a good suit game.
A historian called Sean Munger did a very interesting CZcams video on the Iran-Contra topic
When the sentence “as the Cold War began heating up, the United States publicly did its best to isolate…” came along, I *genuinely* thought that Simon was going to say ‘Pepsi’.
The Iran Contra Deal... lampooned mercilessly by American Dad. Ollie North's Gold. 😆
Imagine hanging out with a friend at their house and say " You wants to see one of our family heirlooms?" just to say " sure. " then being led to a box and your friend opens it and says " Voila napoleons penis. ". You're gonna rethink that whole friendship. At the very least refuse to see any other heirlooms. Be worried you'll fck around and say " yes" just to become another one of their heirlooms.
The praetorian guard. Reminds me of homeland security
Omg do an episode on Lake Baikal
The last one sounds like an episode for DTU!!! ;)
Simon, how many channels do you have on CZcams?
His de-evaluation of Silver also caused his purchase to back fire leading to the folks he paid to come back and take his life.
Why not Hannibal, I mean he brought Rome down to its knees by taking the iberian penisula silver mines ? Didn't actually buy a nation but did buy an army to raze for a long time anywhere he pleased. Now that's some revenge on Rome :) .
Remember when Metallica played moscow
Pedro Martinez for Delino DeShields
Poor Napoleon 😮🤯WHY THA FAAAAARK???
Getting a bit short on video ideas for this channel? I forgot which one this was on and by the end got surprised it wasn't Brain Blaze 😅
'Look, you don't understand. There was shrinkage.' - Napoleon, probably
No mention of when Pope Benedict IX sold the papacy? That would have been #1 on my list.
Pretty good Simon, especially the last clip. How about the CIA smuggling cocaine into the USA?
Have you guys done this one yet? I surely would love to see what you can dig up on the subject.
> Poor guy
You can just feel the glee Simon felt uttering that one 😅
Nah selling the Eifel tour twice is absolutely wild lmao
Its uncanny how much your thumbnail looks like John Goodman
Being able to say Pepsi owned a fleet is too cool to spoil it with mere facts.
Thar last one was the cherry on the cake 😅😅😅
He took his Bone Apart. *ahem*
That could have done with a tiny side note about Mr North and where he is now.
What about trumps 400 dollar gold trainers? 😭😂🤣
$9,000 for some $22 Chinese gold trainers has gotta be up there.
The door in the background is distracting 😰
5 of the most common transaction. Singular transaction?
What of Ea-Nasir?
And we thought Twitter was a flex
Panonia is not part of balkans. Just a small correction. Thanks for the video, quite enjoyable.
Oop i found another factman channel. Hell yea
I love when a new one pops up out of the wild. They're like pokemon, gotta watch em all.
is this a reupload? i could have sworn that i heard this exact same story in simons voice on youtube just a couple of weeks ago or so.
or are all yters just copying each others homework now?
It was not unusual for a new emperor to make a donative the the guards at the start of his reign. What scandalized was the back and forth.
Apprentice? Dude was a fucking king of sales.
5 of the Most Outrageous "Transaction" in History.Hes not even trying anymore just grabbing money while he can
Lustig means strange and comical in Swedish. A fitting name for an odd and funny person.
The thumbnail looks like Russell Crowe making a transaction in Egypt.
Any NFTs are outrageous.
The Surname Lustig means Funny in german. Which is pretty fitting
Pretty sure Napoleon's item has been proven a fake. I believe that makes the transaction even more outrageous.
Lustig also sold a machine that printed real money!
We have met the enemy and they ....
In all fairness to Napoleon, mine always gets smaller when someone looks at it
I owe an apology to Pepsi, I wasn’t aware of their game 🗿
you forgot the one between the free world and africa :P
Seeing the thumbnail and thinking "What? Mel Gibson bought the Roman Empire???"
Please fix the typo in the title
HEY! Im told by some that one inch is more than plenty! Strike your words friend!! Strike your words!
Deshaun Watson to the Browns should be on here
Omg memes lets go
Lol. No wonder Napoleon worked so hard to become emperor.
Today in this video is 2022?
It never fails to amaze me how dirty the U.S. government is or how low they will stoop. It shouldn't at this point but it still does. 😡
Oh yes, "accidently destroyed". Sniff, sniff. Anybody else smell lighter fluid? Oh right, that's just for the barbeque this weekend.
Jean Bonerpart?
But no!! * gasp * Good old Ronnie never did no wrong!! Just ask the GOP!
Rusell crowe ?
10K BTS for two pizzas sends all to hell.
Didn't some one buy stonehedge
That's plural, guys.
5 of the Mo_t Outrageou_ Tran_action_ in Hi_tory?!
The Lattimer family really missed out on calling it “Napoleon Bonerpart” 😮
A typo in the title is never a good sign.
Iran Contra pales in comparison to the things that happened in the decades since. With the collapse of the petrodollar imminent perhaps we can put that sort of thing behind us, at least for a time...
Can't it have shrivelled in size over time? 2.5cm seems impossible.
#12!! Cant belive i caught this upload this early!!
3:30 funfact: Lustig in German, is funny in English. 🤪
Nicaragewyah
ocean eleven on the bigger scale 💪😉
Transactions*
"The Russian customers don't feel very comfortable with online transactions."

Barry Seals
How many videos do you have in the pipeline if today's money is from 2022?
The man who bought the Roman empire looks like Jimmy Kimmel 😅
An ancestor maybe? 😆
You might want to re-read the title for the video and fix the grammatical error.
Shouldn’t “transaction” in the title have an “s” on the end?
Australia being sold to the US by way of the bank of london didnt make the list?
1/137
Fun Fact:
Lustig means Funny in German 😂😂😂
The time England sold their relationship with the rest of the world because of a big red bus 😂🤦♂️ ... And the promised blue passport, control of borders ...etc 😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
😆 The night of the Brexit vote, lightning hit a bin in the local park, across the road from my house, that was full of beer cans. Omen? ⛈️
Ladies ....
