    ◆Company description
    Founded in 1751 in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture.
    In 1911, we changed to Japan's first cutlery maker, and have continued the family business for 11 generations to this day.
    It has been 100 years since the age of civilization and enlightenment before Western food became common in Japan. The representative product is the cutlery "Gekkeiju", which has been manufactured and sold by craftsmen.
    We have a track record of manufacturing from high-class to middle-low range OEM for first-class hotels and restaurants in Japan and overseas.

    I loved this video. Every step of the manufacturing process is taken with extreme care. In the U.S it's hard to find quality cutlery fit for fine dining. I myself don't like the feel of most cutlery in the hand because it's too bulky and squared. I have visited the site and will be ordering soon.

    I don't mean to criticize the factory, but wouldn't it make more sense to align the machines in such way so you don't need to move the forks around in baskets from one machine to the other when if you put them in like a line where the worker grabs from the left do the machining and pass it to the right. Unless there is something i can't see the process line don't look efficient to me

    I have watched numerous of your video's and this is an honest question and I am not wanting to cause insult. Where do you get workers from that are willing to do such a repetitive and boring job? Are these business's based on intellectually handicapped workers? They do a fantastic job and seem so fastidious in their job that I find it hard to believe that these are just ordinary employers. If these workers are handicapped then Im so pleased that somebody realises how valuable these people can be. If not then Im impressed that you can get average workers doing these tasks. Either way superb product.

    • @dianad3080
      @dianad3080 Před rokem +2

      Yet, that very same mindset is why the US has to import so many products vs manufacturing it, yet people want to complain about companies taking their plants elsewhere. All manufacturing facilities involve repetitive tasks while mass producing products, yet it needs to be done by someone. To your point, manufacturers here in the US are struggling to find employees which is partly contributing to the supply chain slow down and in turn causing the delay of producing other products. Assembly work isn't for everyone, but it is an honest day's work.
