- The Rancher line-up launched back in the year 2000. Since then the Rancher has progressed through several different cosmetic, motor and chassis updates. The latest generation of Ranchers TRX brings the best of "Old School" and "New School". Available in several different transmission, suspension and other upgrades the new 420 Rancher is a different beast than the older 350 and first generation 420 Rancher FOURTRAX sport/utility offerings.

As always great review! Great unit for the ranch IMHO, thus the name rancher. Giving credit to the rear swing arm for pulling a heavy tongue trailer. Many tour operators use the rancher for their tour business. Pretty bullet proof for everyday use and the beginner rider. If I had a working ranch that would be my ATV first and foremost.

Why can't people on youtube balance their audio? The content and footage were great, but the music was unnecessary and way too loud compared to the rest of the audio.
Good question... On the editing side everything always is in balance... Once it downloads the effort put into balancing doesn't seem to work, especial when adding music

agreed. that was my exact take away after the vid ended. great content, great footage. didnt like have to adjust my volume every 20 seconds though. great vid minus the music
Everything ATV-UTV-Reviews I always lower the music to 50-70% and it seems to be OK after uploading.
The Honda website says that the Rancher comes in 9 different models. Some DO have indipendant rear suspension, 2WD/4WD, power steering, automatic tranny, etc. One of the greatest entry level utility quads ever!

What size tires and what kind of tires are on it?

We don't have access to them any longer, but on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give them a 6 in regards to performance. Where these tires would be best suited is for the rider who is looking for a tire that will last a long time and offer descent all around performance. Keep in mind the more horse power you have for turning them, the better they will perform.

On the trails there is some mud holes and some of them are pretty big but I've never got stuck with the stock 24" maxxis tires on it. Will the tusk be able to do the same or more then the stock maxxis?

50 hits rev limiter but it could go faster without rev limiter in my opinion.
The rancher isn’t built to be a sport bike, the solid axle is for heavy towing
How fast is he going
The power steering on these is complete junk. It keeps kicking out while mowing. You have to keep restarting the machine, probably 50 times per hour. Defeats its own purpose.
Is the ps system blowing any fuses or just turning the key on and off resetting the system?
No fuses blown. Just way too easy to overheat. These ATV's are made for play, not work.
