I remember when we had this game, we didn't own a memory card, so every day we had to play the entire game all over again.
I was in the same boat. Same went for MegaMan X4, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro
Haaris Qureshi same! I remember the first part of a lot of ps1 games because of this, I don’t think I completed many games. It’s a whole new world near the end of these games, I never got that far
@@tomoliverpool8 i got the urge to buy a memory card now if they still exists so i can finish this xd
It is incredible how many times I replay the same portions of the game again and again
Its true ! For games like rayman, when we had to stop playing we used to switch the channel and let the play run for daaays x)
This game feels like a cosy childhood Christmas Day
Yessss
October is here, enjoy this
@@RICKEYDD I have a brother. His name is RICKEYDD
Yeeees kkkkk
For me it feels like sunny day in middle part of May, 10th birthday
People thinking ‘expelliarmus’ is the ultimate spell, when we all know the true hero is ‘flipendo’
Haahahaaa
Is flipendo only limited to the games? I've never seen it in the movies or the books
You forgot how good Incendio was
Alex smith
Yes it is only limited to the games. Flipendo was Harry’s first spell for the first three games on the pc, ps1 and ps2 versions.
Yup.
This game is my childhood no matter if the dialogue and graphics are outdated this was the first game I ever played and it holds a very personal place in my heart
Oh shut up
Me too. One of my all time PS1 favourites!
It’s strange because there’s a PS2 version of this game that looks totally different, but this PS1 version is what I remember playing on the PS2
@@AsianVidWatcher i played all versions and liked the ps 1 the most.
Yeah I remember buying this when i was a kid at Blockbusters in 2003
Weird how childhood video games have such a permanent affect on you isn't it.
It's that power of memorable impressions, they dwell in the deep parts our memory and arise when something in reality triggers it.
Weird and awesome
Simple, because we played it with our imagination and urge to adventure to the world unknown. And now we play games for challenge (speed run etc) and fames (pvp etc). Bad english
Exactly. It's something surreal.
Not weird at all. The younger we are, the more receptive and primal our brains are.
I love the lowkey creepy atmosphere in this game, hogwarts feels a lot more mysterious and dark
Yeah this is a great game, the only one of the HP games I bother to revisit.
The part when you have to evade Filtch & Mrs Norris used to scare the shit out of me lol
Not that in the movies they weren't intimidating either, but amazing how HP's on Playstation 1 were more fantastic and frightening than ever.
@@QazTKD In some rooms of the castle you can hear ambience of people talking
I hope this new HP PS5 game will have a similar creepy atmosphere.
That would be really really awesome.
The word “Flippendo” it seems was buried deep within my psyche
Same here 😂
lmao
I think you mean "NINNTENDO!" :P
Haha same. I can remember him saying flipendo quiet clearly even though i havent played this in a decade or so
🤣

lol I thought the same thing !
Crazy how such a small touch can give so many feels haha
That squeaking was annoying though.
Nothing will ever beat the charm of this game. I played this when I was 6, over 20 years ago, and I remember being totally immersed in the world. It was dark, mysterious and magical. Could never get past the chess part at the end though!
Wow
Came here for this

We're almost in our 30s now man....I actually turn 30 in a few weeks. Time does indeed fly by.
Yes same issue. Chest part had me stumped.
I remember finding this game weirdly eerie with the lack of background music and some of the darker levels lol
This game terrified me at parts as a kid - place was strangely empty and huge
A lot of the old ps1 games were like that. Tomb Raider comes to mind
soooo nostalgic, anybody else agree?
sure dude, sub back to me aswell ;p
Vengeful yea
Yessss!
Agreed. I used to rent this game from the video store when I was in high school. Had I known that the PS2 could also use PS1 memory cards, I would have been able to finish the game.
Yup, I've played this game 👨👍📺🎮☑💯😃😀😄😁😊
This was one scary game for a kid; the spaces were too open plus there were no music other than some hauntingly sounding cues and the constant humming white noise in the background.
I played Diablo 1 as a kid, you puss
I played fken Resident Evil as a kid.
True that! I used to love this game but some parts really spooked me.
bruh i remember the part with the troll gave me nightmares, and i'd piss myself if i played that part alone
that kinda added more charm to it
Loved this game as a kid. I am 28 years old now I still love it. After watching all the movies and listening to the audio books even playing the first two games on PS1, I still love the Harry Potter world.
When I was younger my parents couldn’t afford a PlayStation so they used to rent one over the weekend once in a while. We always got this game and to get our money’s worth my parents let my sisters and I stay up all night to play. We basically played for two days straight. We never got to play the whole game through though.
Didn’t know you could rent play stations. Is that an American 🇺🇸 thing? I live in the UK 🇬🇧 and never heard of that here.
@@Dean256 yes, I’m from America. I’m not sure if other countries do that though🤔🤔. It was really fun spending the whole weekend playing this game!!
@@saroneaimah8854 oh right. I remember our first PS1 came with this game included. Was the first game I played. Second was a classic too Tomb Raider 2.

Those games that so ingrained in your mind even the sound of the characters footsteps is nostalgic.
6:05 Ron just low-key broke the 4th Wall.
That's like saying than having UI is breaking the 4th wall
I love the way that he plays like anyone else. He make mistakes just as much as anyone else.
This makes the playthrough the more real and human, lovely stuff and well done
Oh shut up
This game was actually kinda scary for its time and considering it was for children. Games today aren't made like this which is sad.
I agree, you won't find anything like this anywhere else
This game can be played for adults too.
@@Ilovemyidol-ns9dq If you can't read English don't use it, he said it was made for children, nothing about adults not being allowed to play it
Cian Pastor I can read English only. I’m just saying adults can play this too. I meant it’s rated for everyone. As long as there’s no strobe lights in the rest of the game. I only got to where they play chess and gringotts.
When you had to meet up with professor snake was spooky. I would take out the game and play digimon lol
Damn, I used to fly by Madam Hooch again and again to make her say her "Ooooooh!". Plus, this game used to give me the creeps.
My god, what a fun game! Everything is perfect, gameplay, music, voices, etc. You can feel the mistery of hogwarts, our childhood was beautiful
So many locations in this game have nothing but ambient sounds. It left a lasting impression on me as a kid.
I think they need to add this on the PlayStation store as a PS1 classic and remaster The Sorcerers Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, and maybe the Quidditch World Cup games from the PS2. They could do it as a bundle or something. I would drop any amount of money to play those games again.
CaCain Yes!
CaCain Ok 10gs
Hell ya I would buy this game
Omg yes!
Problem is they have to deal with licensing issues. A lot of licensed games end up not getting a re-release or are edited with generic assets because the rights to a movie/book/song/automobile/whatever get expired, and it's a hassle to pay for it again.
I remember being 5 and playing this. I was crying a lot because I couldn't get passed the diagon alley part where you have to ride and collect the coins. I remember my mom taking away the ps1 because I was getting so frustrated. I remember her giving my ps1 back, and then I beat this part somehow. Wow, how long ago that was. So much nostalgia with this.
That part was hard for me as a 14 year old!!
Wow why didnt she help you with the game
Skill issue
Lol sneaking into the troll's room to get the key scared the shit out of me when i was a kid hahaha
I didn't speak english so completing this game as a 6 y/o or so was an accomplishment for me but I always had my brother do that one part because I was scared shitless of that troll, the one that chases you and throws toilets is fine though
It was always Filch and his cat that scared me as a kid. Probably because of how spooky Filch was and that creepy sound his cat kept making.
Back when EA released quality content

Of course, put next to what we have nowadays, younger folks will say these graphics and sounds are terrible, absolutely crazy bad...
But my word, for early noughties, back in the day as a young kid, this gameplay and imagery was unbelievable!! And still is. Legendary game, beautiful, stunning.. #nostalgia #unforgettable
Im 15 and remember playing this game as a little child it was such a good game on ps1
Sonic on the megadrive is legendary, true game play back in the early 90s. Evolution of graphics has slowly dragged down game play imo, i played this once or twice. But rather play crash bandicoot over this..... but im watchin someone else play lol im a strange un

Thats the level I got stuck on and just never managed to beat the game
Just by reading this I wanna buy the PS2 version of this game to do those Norbert Missions that u could do on the PC Version back in the day (2009 for me...) which r also available on the PS2 version. I wonder if I can get this game as a PSXtoPSP game. That would be incredible!

Mr. Filch and Mrs.Norris part is the scariest part in this game for me. I missed many times.
I was stuck on the race with Peeves for a long time, having raged quit and than returned nd beat that part, only to get stuck with the sneaking part again, and didn't pick the game up again, I don't have it anymore, but I just wanted to see the rest of it. They have no clue of how the story is supposed to go, and is that how people in the UK say 'sloth', or are the voice overs being lousy?
I got my revenge from the stupid Harry Stark gang.
You too? That part scared the hell out of me. Maybe because the horrendous graphics makes the characters look freaky

In 2002, when I was 11 years old, I was one of the few in my community who owned a PlayStation device. My language is Arabic and I was learning French in school, until I got my hands on this masterpiece. It had a great impact on my learning of the English language and had an impact. In creating my character, the funny thing is that the maximum time I would reach the 80% level, where I had a mission under a big tree, there the disk would always crash. Now, after all this talk, here I am so I can know what the end of the story was and feel as if time had passed. He took me back there😊

Nostalgic Childhood game for sure! For a game that was released 18 years ago, I think the ps1 Harry Potter games have some of the best level, music, and atmosphere in any game for that era. Even modern games I've played quite regularly can't give off a vibe like these games do.

This game was ridiculously mediocre, but it's so nostalgic for me. I even love just watching it.
ShiningDialga wasn't every ps1 game? Haha
Not at all! Sure, they pale in comparison to modern titles, but you've obviously got classics like Final Fantasy VII, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, etc. Even this title wasn't bad. The scale of the castle is pretty impressive, and it's great that they added all the little nooks and crannies to explore. The worst part I found were the controls. The whole "auto-jump" scheme was always the worst to me, since you never felt fully in control and never knew if your character would make a leap or not. This title seemed to do a decent job of it, but I still could never get the feel for it. It's not the prettiest game, either, with a lot of drab colors and textures that just blend into a visual blur. Not a classic, but a perfectly serviceable title for a movie tie-in.
ShiningDialga for anyone under the age of 10 during this era, it actually wasn't a Medicore game
*mediocre
I personally like it better than Mario 64.

They need to seriously remake this game, now with all the new and amazing graphics, and make it more and more of an open map, especially outside the castle, into the woods and just make the story more and more like the books, and then yes add side missions that can work well with the game such as going to class, or quidditch, etc
