  • Variegated succulents can be quite expensive and therefore needs the right position to thrive. Too much sun and they can lose their variegation. Not enough sun and they can grow leggy and lose color. This video shows how I deal with these issues.

    This is like a succulent wonderland. I was just trying to guess how many succulents in their pretty pots must be there in the succulent wonderland. Your videos are the best pick me ups out there!! The one near d bess bates is also very pretty. I forgot its name.. leuco something. Baby pedro pls continue to be ur chirpy self. Raindrops i have seen some get those drops only after they r 1 year old. ( i had given up on them thinking they were gng to be plain janes with no drops)And some when they are 6 mths old. Thank you for making these videos even when you have so many things to do.

      My pleasure Swati. Lenopetallum Guttatum variegatum in my top 10 favorite succulent.
      Raindrops (use to be my fav) keeps dropping their bumps. I have a pot full of them and none have bumps anymore. The one with the bump/drops still in this video use to have bigger bumps and now slowly disappearing. My hearts delight is now my hearts grief (LOL). That too has lost its bump. 😢

      @@GrowingSucculentswithLizK i feel you. Its amazing how the succulents take space in the heart and mind. Raindrops here atleast get bumps only with direct sunlight. I need to go and check that they are not disappearing.🤯

      😂 My husband tells me that one of the things he loves about me is that I never stop him from doing whatever he wants to do. What he doesn't know is that this is my strategy so that he won't stop me from doing whatever I want to do (within reason of course). 😉

    Just had to comment on your heat .I would love temps in the 80's in summer we get thirty plus days of over 100 degree f..I don't worry about frost here but extreme heat. It is not unusual to reach temps of 110 to 115 degrees for 2 to 3 consecutive weeks.Love to watch your show .I can't grow many soft succulents but have a of aloes and agaves.Love Pete

    Such a stunning collection! You are a great succulent mum. I'm going to be in Melbourne in a week (from UK). Are there any retailers you can recommend where I can buy some beautiful pots like yours? I know you are in a different part of Australia though . . .

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Před rokem

      Sorry but I don't know anyone selling from Melbourne. Most succulent collectors that I know buy their pots online imported from China or Vietnam. They bring them in via piggyback on ship container. This is how they keep the price low.
      I'm sure you'll find some people from UK importing the same pots. Facebook groups and eBay in your country will be the best place to find these pots.

    What brand soil wetter do you use? Where do you buy it from? And for beginners how much should you generally use and how often? And also What is the difference that you notice with your succulents using it Vs NOT using? Do you use it at the same time that you fertilize? Or do you wait for next watering to fertilize after using? Thanks so much in advance! Love your videos Liz!!

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  Před rokem +3

      I'm in Australia and I get it from my local hardware store. I don't have a specific brand since I buy what's value for money. As long as it's seaweed base products that are Soil Wetter, Soil Conditioner and Fertilizer. These are 3 separate products. In this video, I was using the 1. Soil Wetter since my soil is hydrophobic. 2. Soil Conditioner I use in preparation for the Summer heat and Winter frost. 3. Fertilizer I use before the plants growing season every couple of weeks or if the soil is dry.
      I usually use half the recommended rate but if I used more than the required rate, it doesn't seem to hurt them.
      Thanks for watching and have a lovely weekend.

      Pot your succulents in like 10% dirt and 90% rocks. Then you will never overeater them. Have a hole in the bottom of the pot and bottom soak them every time you see them drying up.

      I could only find a wetting agent which I believe to be the same as soil wetter and I added some seaweed. Trying to find the soil conditioner. Things in the US are different. Still in the Hunt. Thanks for all the great tips

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK

      Some variegated will look non-variegated if exposed to direct sunlight. Most of them need to be in bright light to make as much chlorophyll or else they die, but definitely not shade.
