I'm working towards my accounting bachelor's degree, do you recommend I continue doing this to get to doing IT audit like you? Or should I switch my major to IT?
None of it was untrue, but I think there were all of two things said that were in any way specific to accountants. This seemed more like "things people in an office say" lol

Everybody here who says they're so glad they're not an account probably have no job or a job that pays less. If theyre glad why dont they state whats their profession. Lol. Believe me public accounting is a good job.
@kushit3 the best job i could get was a waiter before I became an accountant and know an making 3 times what i used to make. So I apreciate it and I can like any job cause its mental plus its that money that makes it better. But I know where your coming from see I graduated at 26
ognimoddd cause its a heartless field filled with bean counters. There is no imagination involved. Many people have been laid off their jobs because some accountant suggested ways to save money. There is no reward other than more money at the expense of others let go. There is no end product of your work, and therefore its a very unfulfilling field. It tends to be more rewarding to the narcissists that it draws to it that get pleasure out of ruining others lives for their benefit. Its rare to find an accountant with a heart, but thats me. Booowhooo!
B Charron That sounds terrible. And I start my first accounting courses in less than a week =S. Aren't there more options career-wise? I hear its a versatile degree and you can do a lot of different things with it
ognimoddd What was your main motivation for taking this course? I think it is course to study, just not a great field to work in for myself personally. We should all have some knowledge of accounting especially if we go into business for ourselves. Its important to know how to read the numbers, and there are other fields available to you for sure. Also you will find work more easily with an accounting education. I dont want to discourage you. I am just stuck in my well paying job for now until I find something else.
