Heroic Traits: I would go 1st Radiant Spirit, 2nd Spellsinger and 3rd Warsinger. The reason Spellsinger does not go 1st is the fact that you need to be in combat range of an AW, something that is not always possible. A 24" aura of anti-spell/prayer is better.
Yeah, I think that's perfectly valid. I'm not aware of what spells and prayers are in the meta, so that's a big blindspot for me. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Feels great coming into just starting Age of Sigmar and picking the trees cause they look cool and have a fun teleport playstyle, only to find every review and video tends to just shit all over every unit and ability they have lmao
Sylvaneth is my favorite faction by far, based purely on the look of the models. Believe it or not, this video is me trying to find the silver lining in this Index! My advice: get as much enjoyment as you can out of collecting and painting these incredible models. Even if you end up going 1-4 in every tournament, at least your army will look awesome!
As a fellow sylvaneth player I feel your pain. Take some solace in knowing that in the year since 40k 10th edition has launched, they have done a lot of work to fix the factions that were super weak from the go, so hopefully they'll follow suit for AoS.
@@alonghallway Yeah I've been playing 40k since 8th, just wanted something new with AoS, need to scratch that LotR FBG itch that's come around, I think.
seems like the kurnoth are just completely reliant on priority target to do anything at all really. Even with that it just brings them up to the base average of their competitors in other factions.
I have a video that addresses this coming out tomorrow. IMO, Priority Target makes Kurnoth Bows a strong choice, but they are still a decent option without it. I want to do a deeper dive into Kurnoth Bows and the Heroes you will likely encounter, but that will take some time to prepare.
Wow, it was the best review of sylv i've seen so far. I'm pretty bummed by the turn on Sylvaneth on v4. My army was around kurnoths with scythes and a lot of rez, but its all gone, even the raw stats of kurnoth with scytes are gone, no more rend, no save. I think you overestimated the revenant seeker, they're bringing a wooping 1.5 hp heal per turn, at the condition of using your rally each turn. Thats not a lot, they used to give 5hp max, why would you bring them instead of lancers ? Trying to get back a 5hp unit on rally is going to cost you a lot at not being reliable, even at 10 dices, command points are just too valuable in this new v4. I'm also disapointed a lot in the magic of sylvaneths, its getting pretty much the subpar version of the other armies but with restrictions on top. I used to be consistent (subfaction reroll and +1 cast roll on warsong) and hit most of the board with good but not the best spells. Now its inconsistent and conditioned with WW and restricted in quite short range and for what ? it doesn't do that much for that cost. The v4 armies I've looked into so far, I've asked myself, how would they go against their oldest version ? Those I've looked would beat their v3, theres no doubt that sylvaneth would never win such battle. But idk, I'm not that much experienced.
Thanks for your feedback and sharing your thoughts! I uploaded another video today breaking down the numbers on damage and durability that you might like. Re: Scythes - I appreciate that GW is trying to make the warscrolls feel very different, but I agree with you that the Scythes are a miss. Even with lower cost, the Swords will probably remain better in 95%+ of armies. Most opponents should be ok with you running your Scythe Hunters as though they were Great Swords instead. Re: Revenant Seekers - I can see why you would say that. I agree that Spiteriders are clearly the stronger warscroll. But I was trying to talk through the case where Seekers could be useful. I don't think of Seekers as adding 1.5 to the rally roll. I think that rally is normally not very useful, but Seekers make it a little more useful. Re: Magic - I agree here as well. We have to jump through hoops and it still isn't even powerful. I guess you could say the same thing about the whole faction. I think they will add new Spell Lores to the Battle Tomes, so hopefully we get some better spells and heroic traits or battle formations that give us better casting. I really miss Verdurous Harmony to bring back models or Throne of Vines for healing over time.
@gammafighter nice I'll watch that. I think the rally was not really useful, especially for us with all the rez we had. But now it became the only centralised way to get models back, and it's doable twice as before. Seekers add 3 dices on 4+, except that, you would only prefer the lancers on every other aspect so that's why I only see that for them
Does lady of the vines have to ability to teleport anywhere through strike and fade and walk the hidden paths since she as counted as an AWW? since when she is set up she is within 6 inches of herself?? Or just other units can?? I am not clear on that. Thanks in advance for any advice or input.
I haven't seen a ruling on this or anything, but the way the ability reads, she should be able to use Walk the Hidden Paths and Strike and Fade using herself as the AWW.
You have gained a subscriber. I'm brand new to AoS and love this kind of detailed-but-practical breakdown.
This is the kind of content I wanted when I first got into AoS. Glad to have you as a subscriber!
My vote is for this level of analysis for the OBR.
Thanks! I'm not very familiar with OBR right now, but they're definitely a cool faction. I'll give it some thought.

@@gammafighter They're unbelievably fun to build especially the revenant variants. Contrast makes painting them a breeze too.

Twistweald is actually Not Bad. Keeping enemys at bay while staying on an objective. They are 16 wounds on 5+ save.
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to revisit them in my next video.
