      I pay the loans with a high fixed monthly minimum..like a car.I paid as much extra from my budget on the loan. I reuse available credit for food/gas... Once the car was paid in full, I put it in storage status to save on $720 every 6 mo on insurance...I'm close to a bus. That monthly car payment could have been reduced if I refinanced it when paid down by 50%

    • @Joce123
      @Joce123 Před 3 měsíci

      I can get to paying credit cards down after I paid off my car. Then I'll pay the highest minimum credit card..Some companies charge 4% of the outstanding balance I pay it down first, One of mine charges 1.5%..I have best success by paying off the big ones first.I have never missed a payment so my credit score is good..I have paid 30% of my income (exclusively social security)..in 20 months I sold a truck for $2,000 , property tax refund $1,500..paid ..$17,000 paid off 6 credit cards

    There is nothing wrong with having many credit cards. As long as you keep a zero balance on them. That way you will receive many offers of 0% APR for a period like one year (on new cards as well as existing cards) so when your furnace dies or you need a new roof on your house or a major appliance needs to be repaired or replaced, you have an immediate way to handle the crisis. I just had to purchase a new washer and a new dishwasher. I have 24 months to pay them off without any interest being charged. The monthly payment will be small so I’ll be able to pay it off in 15 months but have 24 months just in case it’s needed.

    The only times I use my credit cards is when I shop online (which is rare and if an item I want is only available to get online), groceries, and gas. Car maintenence happens once every 6 months on average. And I have one card I rarely use in case of emergencies. And like the lady, I managed my budget. My parents always taught me that once you get your statement and review it, pay it in full.
    Now I can't say my method will work with everyone, because everybody's situations are different. But once you figure out your method and stick with your plan to pay off your debts, you'll be ok. Like the lady said, it does not happen overnight.

      If you make that much a year(over 70 k) then you should hurry up and pay your college loans. There is no reason to have debt when you have a high salary.

      @@pamelamls I did not go to college. I have student loans from a welding trade school called Tulsa welding that I graduated from and I do not work in the field. The school does not let me brush up on welding, which is something that they said that they offered so if they’re not honoring their end, I’m not going to be honoring mine and paying them back ever. My student loans are less than 7K that’s between mine and my wife’s trade school debt. She does not work either. She’s at Mom. She attended dental technician trade school, which once upon graduation pays 13 bucks an hour in the state of Florida as of four years ago. And I will never just like hospital bills pay them back. If the legals are given free, housing and healthcare, I should be given free healthcare to. Also I make 70k a year and I support a family of 4 by myself.

      Credit score comes from borrowing money like on a credit card and paying it off faithfully.
      A credit score is literally your trustworthiness at paying your debts. Get the $500 card and use it and pay it off faithfully every month. You’re credit worthiness will rise.
