15 Reasons Why Being POOR Is EXPENSIVE: y2u.be/ch0PTmA1XaM
Yes it is a choice, too many people live life on cheap thrills.
Please add English subtitles. I m not good in English, and i want my siblings to watch too
To hear a story someone that conscious about life and cannot do anything endear power to rise out of it because there's no support all day life experiences is just pain 😢 suffering nowhere to live no food to eat no one to love no one to share no one to appreciate everyone is just judging condemning want to sacrifice the only thing you have and that is your soul evil is mankind the only thing in this world Is also the last thing to create
Yes. As long as they are armed with the knowledge about handling their finances. When I was younger I made money mistakes. Of course I decided to learn more about finances and made a decision to open a business. So once a person has knowledge then they can make better choices.
Staying poor is not a choice. For one thing, there is no such thing as free will. We merely operate in a series of actions.
Ah yes, people who got cancer and become poor because of medical bills totally chose that life
This would be the exception though. I think they mean barring extreme circumstances
@gogogadget and what caused the cancer in the first place? His Choice of lifestyle or Not?
@@MrChibson literally anyone can get cancer? yes some things make it more likely but theres no guarantee that you wont get cancer even if you live the most perfect ideal healthy life..
I wanted to give a friend a video similar to this one. She told me she'll watch it tomorrow, as if she doesn't have the time for it. Minutes later, she tells me she's watching Saturday Night Live and Dave Chapelle is back. during the pandemic/shutdown, so many of us had 6 months of freedom, to learn from videos like the one above, but blew it on the tiger King and other shows they binge watched. I realize people don't want to learn how to fish, they just want the fish.
Give two working people $1000 each. Person A buys the latest phone and person B invests it. Person A complains about being broke again while B Makes a $5000 gain. Person A looks at Person B as if he/she is greedy and should be taxed more, taking away some from what B earned, so that A can blow money again.
I could not agree with you more.
God if only a $5k gain was that easy to come by. I've put money into the stock market before and it's definitely not a get rich quick scheme
I’ve experienced this with friends when I try to talk about topics like this video. I am no longer friends with them.
@@simply4022 You're probably much better off without those friends.
OK, how about this scenario; 2 different people, C and D get the 5k. C is broke, and therefore uses the 5k to pay off looming college debts, or rising bills, or replace chappy versions of things like shoes or appliance with slightly more expensive versions for longevity, make up the gaps that minimum wage jobs don't fill. Person D already has excess income, so while some of that 5000 does go to other things, much of it is unnecessary to their daily lives so they invest it or save it, and thus grow interest. So by the end of the month, person D has say.....an extra 2000$ on top of the 5k because they didn't need the money, and thus used it to grow the money they had because there was no immediate emergency that needed funds, however person C is back to square one because they couldn't afford to invest/save the money because they needed it for any number of things. Tell me; in this scenario, how is I a choice that person C is still poor and yet person D got richer?
If you think becoming rich is hard then try to stay broke. Rich is hard, poor is hard. Choose your hard!
Definitely
True
If it's about getting to somewhere it ain't hard to get poor but it's hard to get rich so there's not that much of a reason to say both is hard.
Getting. Poor is not hard but staying poor is hard, but getting rich is hard while staying rich is not hard.
@@goodlifetv8567 thank you for puking my words out again
Tell you what...this video actually touched me. I was homeless for many years. And yes. Your consumed with simply surviving. Its a hard pit to get out of. I got tired of perpetual edge of starvation. So the hardest years were, going to college while homeless. God what a rough time. But I graduated, top of my class, and national honor society. Got a good job, and as soon as I could I told the food stamp office to take them away I didn't need them. They almost didn't believe me because no one gets off food stamps. Now I've bought....actually bought and paid off my first ever car. And now I'm growing my youtube channel.

You've achieved remarkable progress, which is truly commendable! It seems you've also had access to opportunities that many others may not have had, partly due to your determination and mindset to give things a try. It's important to recognize that not everyone facing poverty has the same abilities or chances. Often, we overlook how much intelligence and dedication it takes to overcome such challenges.

Also, that UBI experiment is considered a universal success, so I don't know what y'all are smoking.
Logic is not welcome here. Poor people don't need to eat, afterall, so investing what little money you have is a fantastic idea. You can earn so much when you're dead.
@@obyone878 suppose a poor person in USA earns 2000$ a month and even after that,He/she can save at least 200/100/50$ every month and invest it.But if they don't do it and spend all of it saying that they are poor because of luck and can't become rich by trying then it is their fault
@@krishanmani1796 You're using fantasy to prove a point that's categorically wrong. The few people who do that are often suffering from a mental illness, and so them being poor isn't their fault, it's the fault of the handicap and poor mental health programs. What is projected to us is the grand goal of getting rich ! which is a total marketing lie.
Don't make money selling others your ideas of success .
Better guide them to do things they love anyways.
What are you trying to say is accumulate wealth and you'll be successful.
Maybe you are that poor person making poor choices and blindly running after money until you collapse.

Staying poor is a choice, but what if i dont care,
I don't want that fast car or the new iphone or new house or trending clothes;
I just wanna enjoy my life with whatever i have and will work to get what i NEED not what the world expects me to have...

Let's talk about making happiness.
We don't need more billionares
We need more happy and caring people, that's what makes world a better place.

Yeah, I don't think we need billionaires. We need people who can pay for themselves without asking the govt to force others to pay for them. 😊 that'd be nice. Or ya know, people who can pay for their own kids food, school and needs and not have those kids themselves work. Or people who can support themselves in times of illmess and avoid leaving their families in debt. And being able to protect your family in times of crisis or when you lose your job. Yep.

I keep applying to jobs that prefer experience I don’t have yet. Sometimes It feels like there is a penalty for being young. One day somebody will give me the chance to gain that experience. The first person who gives me that chance won’t regret it.
Wait until you are old. At one time I was too young and then I was too old. When as I the right age.
Try finding a way to get practical training. Take specific useful classes at a nearby college or community college. Search online for private training in your work field. Don't get talked into taking classes not useful to do your job.
Let me depress you more. Over 20 years experience in engineering, but I didn't have experience using a new analysis software. "I can easily learn it", I told them. "Yeah, we've heard that before.", they responded, "it didn't work out well."
In a bad economy employers become very picky and will wait for the "perfect" employee. I responded to a posting, but was rejected because they used different design software. That posting remained online for another four months. I could have been trained in three weeks. They were willing to forgo three months of productivity.
Do not wait. You can offer your services for free in exchange for experience. Once you have experience and established your rep, then you can charge or move on to better clients.
@@courtjester1135 You could've shown them the cost of inaction OR you could've worked on their competitor(s) and beat them.
Then maybe you need to go back to school apply for financial aid and get a post education, that way you can haggle your salary based off of your degree. You can’t be 19 years old thinking you can apply for a job that’s $24 an hour when there are people out here who have been doing that job longer than you.

@@hamsandwichindahouse ye this makes more sense
If you are reading this, I just wanna wish you improved finances and a good health.
Thank you
I agree with most of the points except for a few of them:
As Robert Greene says in his book 48 laws of power, acts of kindness are things that allow us to have influence over people. Not expecting gratitude is a total loss on our books. One should expect a bit more than just gratitude actually. We should think of it as a soccer match. once you score the opposite party should feel that inherent need to score an equalizer.. and it is our duty to make it clear and jog their memory from time to time. The longer the wait, the better the reward.. the bigger the favor, the higher the stakes (more power, more influence).
Reminds me of a scene from the popular TV series "Suits"...where Harvey Specter explains why he didn't give away the sports car to his powerful "Friend". He says because he wanted to make him wait for it & make his friend realize that he owes him BIG!! The balance sheet always has a debit & a credit.. and a non performing asset is of no use. People will forget favors at the drop of a hat.. so we must ensure that from time to time we remind our friends...how friendly we've been.
Now all this may not apply to family, however a family member should act like one. It's important to know the difference between friends & family...before we label people either of those. When you make progress your friends may not even benefit from your success, and where there's no benefit there's very little friendship..it takes a long time to go from "friends" to "family". Give 'em time, their true colors will come out... people unfollowing you when things get rough is fine because that's how people are (opportunistic, and that's what we should be too, but people following you just when slowly you're getting back on on your feet.. now that's fishy!! It almost makes you smile when you can cut through the BS and notice that sneaky move.
Poor people blame others? perhaps some people do... There's just one difference between voicing out grievances & complaining : Actions
However, just because an optimistic attitude & actions can get us out of a mess doesn't mean we should forget about our unfair society. Discrimination happens in many forms, and ignoring all grievances by calling them the cry of the weak & the pathetic isn't right.
You can teach a man to fish at your leisure but at a moment of hunger he doesn't need that lesson. Sure he won't have a choice and might just pick up the fishing rod if he's really that hungry. However, once his stomach is full, sooner or later, he'll stop eating and start thinking ..while everyone else had chicken in their buckets, he was asked to learn fishing.. a lesson at a time of vulnerability?? ...that sounds more like a cover up for something devious (like sabotage) rather than an actual lesson. If that's the case, which it is.. well doesn't matter what the animal is ..either way he'll probably PATIENTLY learn to scale. ;)
An enemy's enemy is a friend :P
I resonated with the second point as I should have been at a better paid role doing something I absolutely love right now but unfortunately Covid has pushed that back at least a year. I work temporarily as a security guard which I don't see as a bad job. But its a job that will teach me to be assertive, to give people orders when needed, enhances my interpersonal skills etc.
I have been worried about being able to afford my rent and tuition for my masters course that I am currently on instead of the grad scheme, but thanks to some money management and a few earlier payments of rent (where most of my money goes) I don't feel I need to get a second job even though I was seriously considering it, I don't have many expenses as a student living wise as the rent covers all bills I feel I will be okay as I found myself panicking about being able to afford it but when I calmed myself down and looked at my income and expenses I realised I am way ahead in rent payments for my accommodation and if I reduce my food bills by just a little I will be okay.
I have no succumb to the trap of working two jobs alongside my masters and I intend to stay in the position I am in. Hopefully next year (Covid dependant) I will be able to go onto the grad scheme that is better paid and is doing something I absolutely love!
All of that was my choice to make and I am so glad I have decided not to take on a second job!
To overcome poverty, you have to change your mindset. It's not easy but it can be done one step at a time.

I don't understand everything. But poverty is also a state of mind I learned from this.
I hope we understand the difference between being poor in Africa and being poor in America
I live in the poverty capital of the world ( Nigeria) and it's not funny
People with Hope's and dreams of escaping it get crushed by the Existing lack of infrastructure bad government and bad circumstances I know it's not what stops some from escaping poverty but trust me the torture is real also add things like illiteracy and crime and a way out of poverty becomes 99% impossible in a it seems like we keep saying it's not everything let's not downplay the effect it has on the really poor people. and children who die of malaria at age 5 they died poor too soo let's get context straight
I feel you, buddy, brazil here, I'm from the poorest state, I also live in a town which makes it worse, bad infrastructure, I hope I can move to the capital of my state and go to college, otherwise I'll be done with life, stay strong buddy .
Quote from me: "there are 2 types of poor people, the ones that admit that they are lazy and the ones that are liars"
*You might not decide where you start in life*
But if you're in the west you DEFINITELY decide where you end up ✅✅💯

Why Are People Homeless? They have jobs but can't make enough to pay rent or buy home.
Most homeless people have jobs. They beg because living outside is more expensive than living indoors.
Food=No fridge so instant food only or canned.
Water=Water Bottles For Easy Transport (Hot sun on you all day makes you drink more than a person with air conditioning.)
Shelter=Paying Fines For Vagrantcy Or Getting Hotels Weekly To Avoid Street Or Sleeping In Car Wasting Heat/Gas During Night.
Health=Prone To More Sickness Than Person With Home. Less Food Money. Not Enough Money For Pads If Woman,No Money For Diaper,No Medicine Money, etc)
I've always said "Your situation in life is not always your fault, but it is always your responsibility"
If a man is walking down the street and gets shot in 3 times, you stumble into him bleeding on the ground. Are you going to let him die because his situation is his responsibility? It may not have been his fualt that he got shot, but that lazy fuck should really learn to pull himself up by his bootstraps and mend his own bullet holes, huh?
The fact that something is one's fault does not mean that one chose it either
I have to admit that the graphics on all alux videos i have seen are very catchy, colors are well matched, and even the font style fits perfectly well. Whoever edited these videos have put up real creativity
They are investing really in these educational videos. And in return, they are profiting. Smart though.

Also, this is scary, I was strongly considering getting second job because I’m not thinking long term. I’m going to continue investing in the stock market and continue to gain experience at my job until I find a better paying one.
Thanks Alux 😁
I sort of disagree with that bit of Alux's advice. Often the one resource you have in abundance when you're poor is time. A day's overtime at my job is $270, and when I started investing in stocks OT was a readily accessible source of extra money. After about 4 years, my portfolio was making ~$250/month in dividends so I stopped working as much, and currently it's worth six figures thanks to re-investing the dividends. But it started with doing more hours.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ur hot ul be rich in no time just use ur hottness 👍😎
Rich people just got lucky, poor people just get exploited by the rich while still working so much more than the rich but still get trapped in poverty. In this system, unless it's studies or sports, hard work doesn't get you anywhere; it's luck. And if you think about it, that's a sad reflection of society.
Luck? Man do you even work hard enough?
Not only being poor is a choice. Wherever you are in your walk of life, is a chain reaction from all decisions you’ve made until now. That doesn’t imply that it’s irreversible but it can open your eyes one day. Human beings make thousands of decisions each day. They add up and eventually brought you to the life circumstances where you’re in at this moment. It’s never too late to change. Work on your mindset, set a goal and divided in sub goals to improve yourself. Reflect on yourself. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you don’t know a thing about a specific subject. Don’t look at what others have achieved, it doesn’t make any sense. Be kind. Be respectful. You yourself are the most important person in your own life. That’s not egoistic at all. You come first. If you can’t pay the bills or maintaining a job or can’t love yourself how do you think to treat other persons like your kids, family, friends, colleagues etcetera. Don’t be too hard for yourself. It’s good to take responsibility but don’t blame your bad luck or credit your good luck. Follow your own destiny and be the best you.
I love this! thank you.

Poverty is a choice an entire country makes not an individual. Some people are born into bad circumstances and once you’re in deep poverty it’s hell trying to dig your way out. Homelessness and deep poverty are social issues that can be fixed collectively.
but you also can make it out of it yourself. staying poor is a choice, if you earn money and keep buying new phones or cars for debt and get bankrupt it's your choice that you are poor, while at other window guy uses the same money to do business or get promoted. you could do that as well but you did your choice and choose to be poor
I think that this video fails to address the necessity of time and luck. I took on a lot of debt for University. Afterwards, I took on even more debt investing in a car, relocating, and wardrobe for my new career (my workplace requires formal office attire). It's been 4 years of frugality and luck, but now my only debts are my student loans. However, if I had 1 big medical expense, or if my car broke down, or if I lost my job when Covid19 happened - I wouldn't be in my current position.
If I had kids to care for, or family who got sick, or any responsibilities other than myself and my future - I wouldn't have been able to take on the debt that let me attend University.
When you are 1 bad event away from being 60,000 in debt without a shovel - it's not about being smart, but about luck.
@@hamsandwichindahouse Not sure what country you live in, but the one I have doesn't have legalized abortion currently.
Not sure what types of jobs you have, but mine do not allow for moonlighting. It is written into my employment contract.
Not sure about your debts, but when your student loans and transportation (used but sturdy car) alone take 80% of your budget before groceries and other bills, savings isn't an issue.

There's no such thing as luck or the lack thereof. There's something called a collective ego that decided to shut the world down when COVID started with lockdowns and vaccine mandates. I chose not to be vaccinated and came out just fine, because it was my choice to make sure my life wouldn't spiral out of control due to the insanity of the world. Sorry to hear about your college debt, but that was a choice you made. Welcome to the world.

A lot of people can stop being poor by stop having kids you can’t afford. The next level is saving you money instead of “treating” yourself to a fast food meal here and there. Live below your means for a few years to become stable or live outside of your mean and stay poor. There are opportunities out there. Just got to grab them.
It's so easy to say isn't it? Yeah, of course just save up the few pennies left after paying your taxes, maybe one day you'll become a billionaire 😂😂😂. And are we not supposed to eat? Keep in mind It's not just fast food, everything is expensive as hell! And keeps getting worse! Listen, the American dream is a lie, it has aways been. The gap between rich and poor is still there...
Ive been living below my means since I was boorn and Im still poor. I have one kid that my ex kidnapped from me so my money isnt going there. Tell me, by your logic, why am I poor? I have military experience, Ive worked almost 20 different jobs, been to college and certificate school... by your logic I should be doing pretty well right now and yet even starving my self and only eating 4 out of 7 days a week I can barely make ends meet. So seriously im begging you to tell me how any of this is a choice and me not working hard enough.
Aluxer. This is another impactful message. Keep on motivating us.
if poor people didn't exist then no one would have been rich
Hello friends,
For simple reference:
Here are the pieces of advice in this video:
1: When poor, you choose a little money right away rather than a lot of money later
2: When poor, you take on a 2nd job to cover the bills
3: Poor people don’t understand the value of time and opportunity cost
4: Poor people work themselves to death
5: Poor people choose the allure of get-rich-quick schemes
6: Poor people look for a way out, rather than away in
7: Poor people choose their rhetoric
8: Poor people choose the company they’re in
9: Choices are made in the context
10: Poor people choose to see obstacles instead of opportunity
11: If being poor was not a choice, you would have zero control over your entire life
12: Poor people play the blame game
13: Poor people choose to believe they know everything
14: Poor people choose to do something expecting something in return
15: Poor people choose jealousy over friends’ successes
holy shit listing it out really does sort of reveal just how actually evil it is
im obssesed with your channel, your perspective to business and your approach to elegance.. x

Thank you alux for my morning booster shake ...you guys make the sky so clear in a bad winter storm..
Not sure if I agree with number 2. Sometimes a person will get a second job until they land a higher paying primary job and can finally eliminate certain liabilities which in turn allows them to quit there second job and then gives them more freedom to explore other ventures..
Growing up poor...these videos are why I'm a Alux subscriber. These videos are how I found Alux..Thank you.
This video is gonna get Alux in trouble with the PC police 😅
How so?
@@Manuel-gu9ls Staying poor is a choice, that is bound to trigger somebody.
So true but that's why I watched it and now I'm making a choice of not being poor and it's really great, it took 1 and half year to get my business to where it is now, ppl come in and throwing money at me it's so amazing what strategy and hard work and planning can do and has done for my life completely changed around. I was homeless a few times, other family issues and now I'm on my way to becoming a billionaire.
@@iramakhtar4070 How did you do that?
I think to stay poor or to become rich is a natural tendency found naturally in some people.
If you cared at all, you'd clean out these "get rich quick" scams flooding your comment section.
Sure being poor is a choice. Looking backwards I know that every Mistake I made is mine and I caused it. And I feel it right there the block on “I can’t thoughts” which I use as exercise to not do what I have to do. What books you know that help in unlocking this type of thoughts.
I LOVE Learning. Time is Always Important
Hello Alux! I just noticed something regarding your videos. You guys don't have subtitles. Please note my message as a suggestion and maybe consider uploading the videos with subtitles. I would really love to share the knowledge with my parents but unfortunately, they don't handle english very well yet. Thank you for your great activity!
This is dangerously venturing into victim blaming territory. Tell that to starving and poor people in North Korea who live in the world's most oppressive regime.
They don’t have CZcams in North Korea...
@@jnels2007 chill dude, I am aware of that. It was just an example of a country and many others that oppress the majority of it's population. If poverty was a like a closed door many would simply walk out but it isn't. it's a max security prison that you have to escape from. You escape from poverty, if you can.
Any success in N Korea can be taken away by the government. it's hard to get rich in a country where the government keeps your customers poor.

In America, you get 1.5 pay after 8 hours of work, so working overtime is not necessarily all that bad.... You should try to get as much OT as possible and not just work 8 hour days on end.
So true. We must get not stay unstuck, give it all we've got, like Elon Musk.
This is so tru trading time for money is old mind frame wealth building
i have A LOT of experience with people from all countries, cultures, salaries / income. and the main reason why poor people are poor is because they are lazy. they often wanna make it look like they work hard without actually working hard. they wanna be seen working hard but as soon as nobody sees them they no longer work hard. they care way more about the image if "i am a hard working person" instead of just BEING USEFUL and earning a lot of money.
Motivation need by the poor how to become rich meaningful rich living thanks Alux
Does anyone else feel the NEW wave of Alux Videos lately? It feels like the growth mindset is coming across the videos more and more. ALUX is simply getting better and better
When I truly consider my own viewpoint on this subject, I come to the consensus that I have always thought being poor is a choice to a varying degree. I believe this typically. However, I can not say that a lack of options, or perception thereof, may keep a lot of people on the hamster wheel.
If getting rich is our choice,
So being poor is our choice.
If you are speaking about the here and now with so much information available yes there is a choice, but that was not always the case, and is some countries it is still not the case. I truly believe that information is the one singular thing that makes a difference. Information was not always readily available and when is was available it was segregated to those who were found worthy. for my generation the library was the main source of information, just think how access to that could and was manipulated by bias .
Thank you for your information that’s good!
Yeah, I hope it's not your choice when we're talking about my well-being and wealth.
Thanks Alux , Love U.☺️😍😘
Thanks for this... Alux team 👍🏻

Alux went from LOA skeptics to Bob Proctor real quick 🤣
Yes staying poor is defo how people think. I have been working smarter and thinking of many side hustles in my spare time. I dont waste my time talking to people who dont see what can be. Anything is possible in this world.
Very informative and motivational ✌🏾
It’s not a choice. People don’t want to be poor. It’s greed and the evil that keeps us poor.
Many of the poor People I've talked to feel like they shouldn't have to make sacrifices to build wealth notwithstanding most millionaires and billionaires having done so
You can use money to make in stocks if you know how to make a good portfolio, the stock market can help the economy to stabilize and improve if you put with least a minimal wage in the marketing network business....
Mots millionaires and billionaires are propped up by their already rich parents meaning they can do whatever they want with 0 risk
Staying poor is NOT necessarily a choice . It may be a return to life.
If one grows up into a poor society or with a severe disability and is poor to begin with and cannot earn an income to sustain himself be it passive or not he may may have to take a fractional wage from the government to sustain life with medical benefits as well.
Try it sometime.
And God Bless You
Everything is a choice because it’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do about it!
Number 3 absolutely rattles my cage, at one point having two jobs on the go gave me such an advantage, Ive taken a lot of hits since then so back to square one but don't ever knock a second job because sometimes its a way out of rut that you don't even know you're in
Always a pleasure to be here...
❤️ Amen! Love this channel! ❤️
Poor people in LatinAmerica exploited by the big companies of the US looking at this video: 👁👄👁
This video is okay BUT not the name. Being poor is not a choice, is a systemic problem. (I’m an economist).
True
I'm from Latin America and here "we" are exploited by the government, not big us companies.
In fact, i don't know NOBODY that says that kind of bullshit down here. This kind of though is a classic line throw by socialists/democratics, but guess what, you're wrong and your ad verecundiam argument of "hey, i'm a economist" it's only a fallacy.
Here's the facts: The only institution capable of exploitation is the state, which is an organized mafia capable of regulations, interventions, taxation (which is theft) and (guess what) lobby with companies. Therefore, the state in association with some corporations (or not):exploits the latins, not the "evil us companies."
Maybe that's in a harsh tone, but what you are learning is just flat out lie.
Great video I love 6, 8 and 10!
Number 4 can't be more true, I have seen many people exhausted
Partners and Children can make you poor.
Relationships can be a reason of being poor.'
Best story is Senator Pacquiao- he never begged and worked hard for things, even if he has to see simple donuts on the streets.

Everyone has opportunities in front of them but the rich mentality is the thing that differentiates the people who make the most of it.
What about systemic obstacles, those are real as revealed by the pandemic.
They are obstacles, not death blows. And we all have them. Some more than others.
