- After gaining enough points in the yellow, green, blue, pink, orange, purple and gold wristband events I qualified for the final event "Champion of Champions" in Forza Horizon 1 with a grand prize of 5 million credits. Here you can see me completing it and then taking on Darius Flynt in the final boss battle showdown around the whole map.

The final festival event of FH1 is a 5 lap circuit race against some of the fastest cars in the game. It is the only festival event that allows cars of the R1 class.
Straight afterwards you face off against Darius Flynt in the final boss showdown to win his car. This duel takes place on a very difficult track, which looks like it leads around the whole map. Traffic is enabled in the duel as well.
I had to do a couple of restarts in the duel, first because I lost but then also several times because Darius got stuck somewhere, which I didn't really want. In the end I settled for this run here, where I had to use 2 rewinds but at least the AI didn't get stuck and it was close until the end. I might record another run on this track in Time Attack mode later, since it's an awesome track but it definitely requires some practice, so I am not able to show a flawless run in a playthrough video with just a few attempts.
There are also still a lot of Street Races left for me to do and the final one is called "Goliath", so that one might be interesting as well.
Overall Horizon 1 is an awesome game and I can see why it's the favorite Horizon game of some people. I think in terms of handling I personally prefer Horizon 2 but Horizon 1 is definitely good as well and I really like the structure of the single player mode, which makes the races feel more meaningful than the endless championships against faceless opponents in the following games. - Hry
fh1 single player was more enjoyable because the game has characters and bosses, which made it kind of a story mode.
Yeah it was. Single player in fh2-fh4 is boring without bosses or any story.

8:53 I love how all the cars make a different sound when they are crossing the finish line. I often see people whining about the car sounds in FH3 and FH4 all being the same but in this game they seem to be more unique.
That's something that I noticed as well. I normally don't care much about the car sounds in games but in this game they stood out even to me.

More cars have the same file while 90% of the cars in FH1 have different files

Yeah man I'm hoping the next horizon title has this type of storyline. I just recently bought a hard copy of horizon 1 to replay it and damn... It's just so good.. Cars all sound amazing. Low end and High end rpms on v8s actually sound like v8s... Everything was better (minus the lack of certain features like fast travel everywhere if you didn't get it years back)..,

This is the best horizon, not only cause the nostalgia: because of the bosses, the characters and everything else that is what make horizon 1 more special than the rest
I still renember when i beat Darius 6 years ago i was very happy is for that classes of feelings why forza horizon 1 is and is going to be the best of the saga
It's also because you feel emotions more intensely at the tuba when you played this. This was normal standard for story for a need For Speed 😅
It has now been over seven years since Forza Horizon came out in 2012, and I still remember how surprised/worried I was the first time I played Horizon. Between 2005 and 2012, I owned and almost completed Forza 1, Forza 2, Forza 3, and Forza 4. Initially when compared to these previous Forza’s, Horizon appeared to be far “too casual” for me. In the beginning, I felt that it did not follow the older Forza’s well. However, the open world concept, the concert-like music/atmosphere combined with the sounds of the cars, the bright colors of the festival, and the perfect illustration of Colorado during the fall absolutely blew me away. I played this game until my Xbox 360 S quit working, and I still play it on my Xbox One.

The gameplay in the new Horizon games is so much better than it was in the first, but what made the first so great and memorable was the incredible atmosphere and overall beauty of the roads you were driving on. Before Forza Horizon was a thing, arcade racers had the most dead environments of any video game genre. Then Playground Games changed all that by somehow perfectly infusing racing with a music festival! If there's one thing that the new games have yet to replicate, it's the atmosphere that the Horizon Festival created. The Horizon Festival has become relevant at only one small part of the world in the new games while in Horizon 1, it felt like the whole map was a part of the festival. I think that the maps being open world in the new games is probably the reason why the festival has become secluded. However, the way Horizon 2 balanced the open world and the festival was almost perfect. Instead of secluding the festival in one small area like Horizon 4, there were festival outposts sprinkled across the cities and towns across the map in Horizon 2. Everytime I drive in Edinburgh, I always think about how much more life there could be if only they sprinkled festival outposts in the city.

I remember one time, my brother were playing a final race with Darius, then he pushed of him to thing (it was long ago, but i think it was a bush), then Darius "crashed" his car (glitched) and didnt move for the end of race, and finally when we get a "champion" car, the ferrari didnt showed

This game brings back so much nostalgia, i still feel like this game had the best soundtrack and the best story out of all the horizons.
This is honestly the most memorable part of the game for me, having Illmerica play while I race on a highway against the champion at incredibly high speeds was just amazing
Cosmetic damage bothers me so much but I’m glad I can turn it off in these games.

I just love the sounds of this game so much! Especially the wild Saleen Raptor with the loudest supercharger ever or the rumble of the C63 AMG. Brings back memories. Man, i gotta play this again some time! I really enjoyed watching this video since this Gumpert is one hell of a machine and it was a lot of fun to drive. It's a shame we don't have it in FH4 anymore. But maybe we will get it :)
Why did this Horizon feel more street racey compared to the next 3?
I'm guessing because of the "be free" like atmosphere and world. Then you have all of these characters that are gritty and supportive to help you win.

It honestly always killed me after finishing the game, really felt as if the festival was coming to a close. Good times though running through the campaign, I'll never forget this game and the memories it brang :)

Darius literally rigged the car to crash and kill you. Didn't you see the ending credits? Have to driving in the car you take from him, the camera eventually catches up to the car and it crashed at high speed with no sign of life.

So no one is gonna talk about how he hit 280 is a car "slower" than the Bugatti EB 110 SS
I was actually pretty disappointed with this ending considering much effort went into building up the characters and rivalry for a racing game. I was expecting the final duel to be much more of a "greatest hits" type thing where you race through something more iconic than just the freeway. Incorporating more off road or sections with other vehicles would have been a lot of fun. I just think that for how refreshing the first Horizon was at the time that the ending act could have been more epic.
I agree, the last race doesn't feel like an ending. I think it would've been better if they made a cutscene like the first race with Alice giving you a trophy for being the 2012 champion and a furious Darius challenging you to a final race, and maybe some ending credits with the player driving on the highway his new car with Alice on board, making an ending to the festival and the progression of the game.

I've played it over and over till I got insane difficulty and manual wit clutch and when you win the race it gives you twice the money its sick
To 8:55 to 9:02 I find that satisfying when each car pasts after another it cancels out the other simultaneously

Bring bosses back
More races ( No track maker because most of circuits are fuckin money spam shit or big highway circuit)
More cars (I wont put specific list but I say all cars from TDU and Midnight Club LA)
Houses interior
Map based in california with bigger city but still more of tight corners races.
Better drag racing areas.
Cars showrooms (Showroom of PI Class cars for A class B class etc.)
More complicated Goliath race and big cross country.
Dakar cars.
More cars customization. ( Tuners, muscles, ponies and Exotic not Super or hyper)
Purely optional
More in depth character customization

I spent all night last night playing this game again. After about 8 hours straight I managed to beat the horizon finale (not the super easy showdown) on insane without rewinds or ramming Darius… but I had to use a DLC car. I had an easier time ramming him with the super sport but that was still equally hard without restarts….

I always used the Ultima for the final races and it shredded, top speed was around 250+mph(402kmh) and the handling was insane
Can you buy fh1 digitaly on xbox360 right now? I was thinking of getting a used one for this game but on the windows store on my pc it says its only available on xbox one for digital purchase.
Unfortunately it's not officially sold digitally anymore. You will have to look for a disc version. Or you can look for a key on sites like G2A but those might not work or be restricted to some country, so try at your own risk.

What a nice times playing forza 1
Most exciting race in games for me.
I played it on medium difficulty, no ABS, no traction control, manual shifting, no guide line, no rewind, and no light damage for a total gain of 105% and with the lamborghini aventador unimproved.
In the last race I made him hit a post and from then on he couldn't catch up with me, he didn't recover the same way with the Lamborghini Aventador without improving.

The first time I beaten Flynt was with an Ultimate Aero and I crushed him easily. I miss the concept of the first Horizon game. I wish they kept for the sequels. Happy 10th Anniversary Forza Horizon 1!!!

I like this horizon game the most because you get 5 million minimum meaning that can buy the fastest and most expensive cars but at the same time you’ve actually earned it due to all the bosses you’ve beaten and the fact that you’ve beaten this DARIUS FLYNT that everyone has been talking about and it makes you feel great. This is what forza needs back. I’m a forza fanboy but if I’m honest Ive been enjoying need for speed games more recently (2015, 2017 esc)because of lina Navarro and Magnus Walker nakai san and spike getting mad at u being jealous and in general a proper understandable story line that links together and makes sense. Forza has lost that due to all the fast free cars that you get within 10 minutes of playing and the repetitive races and the zero characters with real personalities. No hate towards forza I love them but they really need to kind of remaster this game but as a fully new game at the same time with more new cars maybe bring old cars back

The first time I very first time I did this race, Darius hits oncoming traffic about halfway through the course and gets stuck but it turns out that he never figured out how to use his reverse gear.
