With each episode, I see Nathan a man more focused on taking care of his niece, leaving Elizabeth aside. This does not mean that I am not rooting for them to be together. Team Nathan always.

Excellent observation...that Lucas "is a ticking time bomb because he strives to be so perfect." Yes, exactly. Whereas with Nathan, the perfection of Nathan lies in his realness. Nathan does not set out to impress Elizabeth with grand gestures and yet he impresses her anyway because he's a man of depth, of honor. Yes, he's been a man of few words, but he also knows when to speak. That's what makes a great man -- one who knows when to say what needs to be said, when to listen, when to respond, when to stay silent and observe and when to move on. Nathan's growth and development since coming to Hope Valley has been enjoyable to watch because we've been able to see the layers that makes this man so great. And I am sure, we have much to see yet. The storytelling is simply beautiful! Lucas says all the right things, but it seems too scripted. Life is often messy, filled with conflicts and problems and it is how a person responds in those moments that shows us who they really are.
Just my opinion, but I think it will be Nathan in the end. If we believe the interviews they say neither of the men will leave the show. Nathan is sooooo in love with Elizabeth that he would never find a love that deep again. He would do the honorable thing and leave town so she could move on. Just saying!
The day has arrived and we all are hoping for the " right " decision based on our personal choice !! Not everyone will be happy with the choice Elizabeth makes, but we need to respect it. Perhaps we can feel relieved the wait is over !!
Really what can Nathan do at this point he told her he is in love with her and she rode off. To me that shows his strength to give her her space for now. But I guess it all depends what happen in fort clay will dictate what happen. I still believe Nathan that he never meant Jack I do believe he was the mountie that was suppose to go. But he was suspended So Jack went in his place. And that his not Nathan fault
I've been disapointed by the last ep 7 season 8. I 've always been a team Nathan, but I don't seen him fighting for Elisabeth. I understand that the adoption of Ally is his focus. Anyway, the door is widely open to Lucas. And the guy is going on. I don't trust from the beginning. 😥
I think maybe we will see him fighting the next few weeks. Lucas thinks he has this wrapped up. I don't think he does. Wish we could just skip to the last episode. This has been painful for Team Nathan for sure.
