- The Dreyfuss & Co 1953 is in so many ways a watch that punches well above it´s weight. The design, finish and strap is of very high standards but one big flaw is a big dissapointment.

Mine has run perfectly, I never had any issue with the lack of AR coating. Just turn you wrist a bit and it reads fine 🙂
I always appreciate your reviews. I decided to find this watch and after some digging I was able to locate a pre-owned version which is essentially perfect -- To my standards anyway. Watch that I bought is running perfectly So far. I feel it's a beautiful addition to my small collection, It fits perfectly on my 7.5" wrist, and the domed sapphire crystal is phenomenal.
A really nice watch - i don't think the negatives are so critical when you consider the price.
Been wanting this watch for a while but can’t find them online for $400. Where did you purchase this?
Where can I buy one?
Great review
Honestly, I don’t see the big deal regarding the missing AR coating. Never been in a situation where I couldn’t just move or rotate the watch ever so slightly and be able to read it just fine.
I’ve been interested in this watch but can’t find it under 800-900 euro in Sweden :( I could live with the non-regulated movement if it was half that price.
Like your reviews as always! :)
Agreed. I'd rather have the crystal flash.
Hi Anders,A watch that doesn’t keep good time is almost useless so I agree with the decision to move it on. It’s such a pity as the watch itself looks great but I don’t understand why they spend money on a fancy 5 watch box and then skimp on the regulation of the piece and the AR coating it doesn’t make sense.Another good review my friend.👍🏻
That is such a shame honestly. I can put up with the lack of AR coating but the inaccuracy is my personal cardinal sin. Its one of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen but what a massive letdown with the accuracy problem. Thanks for the update and review!!
Hej Anders uret ser godt ud og oser af kvalitet, hvormeget taber/vinder uret pr dag. Hilsen Per
Hej Per. Det vinder 19 sekunder, så det er for meget 9 eller under er OK.
Mvh
Anders
I have this watch and it has been very accurate for me. Exterior fit and fixings I would say is better then my tissot chronograph and definitely better then my sports 5.
I should also mention mine is on bracelet and the bracelet is amazing.
How off was it?
Good deal! It is a shame that it did not work out.
I'll take that watch
Wish you liked it so much that you we're keeping it such a good looking watch but trust your judgment an if its not good enough for you to keep I don't want it .
Really beautiful piece. Too bad the maker neglected the basics.
Sold it ?
That is a really good looking watch! A shame about the movement.
The reflection is annoying bcos it is a black face, bearing the full brunt of it. Had it been a white or silver face things will be different. You can substitute the crystal from other brands with a good watch techniciam
Luckily it rains a lot in Esjberg so it will be easy to find a new owner.
Haha 😀
Great review, thank you. I am seeking this watch but it seems they are hard to find today - mid 2022! If anyone reading this owns this exact watch and is looking to sell it, please do get in touch via my 'Channel' > About Me section. Thanks!
If you hate no AR coating then forget about Rolex. But here’s the thing. AR coating on the outside of a sapphire crystal can take a scratch. I have this across the face of a Breitling. I also have a Rolex Sub which has no AR coating and it’s no issue whatsoever regarding legibility. But if the watch is inaccurate then it’s junk. That’s a shame as this piece looks cool and there’s another from this brand I was looking at at a hefty discount which I’ll now swerve. Thanks for the review.
That’s true, but with this watch’s dial being glossy it’s too much. My GMT Master’s dial is more matte making tge lack of AR coating no problem. Thanks for watching.
Best regards,
Anders
Maybe it’s magnetized, messes up automatic watches
Rolex doesn't have AR coating either.
Rolex ist not good either 😃
(Rolex=overpriced mass produced steel watch, pimp style 😉 )
@@eusupporter8438 But reselling a Rolex will make your money back or even profits for stainless steel sports models. All the investors now buying Rolex for a reason.
Doesn't need it tbh. Haven't had issues with mine
Rolex don't even bother with AR coatings on dive watches ffs!
You sound like KING DIAMOND
Its a honor to sound like the king!
Please stop moving the watch around so much when you do a review.
Richard Dreyfus makes watches???
haahahaaa
LOL...so what you’ve got is a watch that doesn’t keep accurate time and you can’t read it. Yup...those are deal breakers. What are they thinking???
I think so! :)
Dreyfus & Co is owned by Citychamp a Hong Kong based manufacturer. The watch is actually Chinese with a Swiss movement.
The S2200 comes in three grades. The cheapest is on,y accurate to -15/+20s/day.
