its annoying cos there are seperate ‘e-segements’ but not everyone sets their ride to eride
if i start getting eride times on the segments i got good time on...

So I bicycle a lot and at his stamina, just because he's breathing hard DOES not mean he doesn't have a shit ton of energy in the tank. Unless it's his off season, he is fine.

Nice vid. The time gap surprised the hell out of me. I got turned on to mtb late in life. Knew nothing about downhill until about 5 years ago. It was a revelation. Now it occupies my thoughts numerous times a day. I ride as often as I can and also began (road) biking to/from work 365 to regain aerobic fitness I lost through the years so I can smoke weed huffing 20-something’s out on the trails and in the jumps. LOL. I got depressed a few weeks ago knowing I legitimately have less than 10 years before inevitable physical decline sets in and how I wished I had discovered the sport earlier. Then one day riding home from work an old bastard flies by me. I said wtf and took up pursuit. I caught him but had to give up after 1/3 of a mile. Soon the guy was disappearing in front of me again. I finally caught on - the dude was on an e-bike lol. Those dam things have come a long way in a few short years. Especially the 2020 crop. Then it hit me - I’ll buy an e-mtb in 10 years and extend my trail riding. I was instantly less depressed. Ha.
Hey Luke can you do a range test on your e bike to see how many miles you get out of one charge. 👍🏻

I do have same bike e trance pro1 2019 and I can guarrantee that can do some 40 km ride off road/serious trail on support2 level..still left half battery juice.
When offroading straight uphill 9km on top of a 1200m a.s.l with my 3y old daughter wich weighs 15 kg + seat 1,5kg and my self 105kg+bike 24kg I have left 3 bars on support 2.
total weight of 146.5kg and I am no athletic fit. Giant trance e+1 pro is a great mtb worth its money absolutely. My wife has
also Giant fathom e+2pro 2019 absolutely enjoyes her ride, but
due to different gearing she manages to drain her battery same as me.. her total weight is 60kg+bike 24kg.so there some major difference in weight of 62kg...still.
Now do the same race over a three hour endurance ride. See how good that ebike is when the battery is flat!

Roy Hodson there really is only some specific situations where an ebike will be faster than anyone with a decent FTP. Most decent racers have an FTP well over 300 watts, combine that with the additional weight and therefore reduced handling of ebikes, the limited top speed of most ebikes have and the limited range of ebikes and ill back my xc race bike in most situations. Not too mention ebikes are for old, fat, lazy people 😜
@@treecrusher What if you wanna commute to work and can't afford to get sweaty. Also the only thing stopping ebikes from being super fast are legal restrictions. In other countries they have ebikes doing 50 easily.

That’s a tight moderate elevation trail. The jr. champion should have the edge. He just looks fast. There’s a reason he was faster, he did three turns , got out of sight, ditched the bike, ate a Cliff bar, did 100 jumping jacks then sprinted down the trail after 10 minutes. Ha
That was the perfect trail for the eMTB.

I have rode both an e-bike and a normal bike on the same trail. Crazy as it sounds I am constantly 20 to 30 seconds faster on the regular bike over a 6 mile course. I think the results will depend on the trail. 2 minute run is not enough trail to really determine. In my opinion both bikes are equally fast except for climbs for the most part. A climb heavy ride will favor the ebike otherwise it's probably a draw for a fit rider.
This is true, unless ebike has an altered software to lift the cut-off limit at 25 km/h. If ebike is on the original software with a properly working limit, then after exceeding the speed of 25 km/h you use only the strength of your own muscles, and as ebike is much heavier than a normal bike, so ebike simply has to be slower. The rule is :the more elevations, the ebike gains. However, the more flat terrain, the faster a regular bicycle is.
Even if the bike was not speed limited, the turns in the trail make it hard to go much faster than a regular bike. Unless the trail has a lot of climbs both bikes will get simular times with a fit rider.
Depends on a trail, we have pretty steep climb trail and friend on an ebike has beaten strava time of a local top20 xco elite WC racer by few seconds (4min trail, my best time is 7min and I'm very average climber)

TALLNDIRTY it’s been going mint for the whole time I’ve had it so far, have only needed to replace a rear tyre and one chain but apart from that it’s been faultless!

This bike was really easy to assemble czcams.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.
Lots of emtb are being bought , soon we will have to say that our bike is a regular bike

Would be interesting to see what the actual power of both rides was. Regarding the test, if this was a regulated e-bike then in theory it should only beat the world champion on uphill sections, all other sections should be fairly even or better for the champ as the e-bike would be speed-limited (or would be here anyway due to powered vehicle laws).

What you should have done was ride the trail on Cams bike this would have told us what the advantage of the motor was, also the bike is probably better for getting older people back into cycling not for young people that are not talented enough to be world champions to challenge world champions
