I can't believe it took me this long to hear Halestorm! Incredible vocals from Lzzy, and such a treat to have Amy Lee joining in on the fun -- what else do I need to check out from these amazing artists?
basically anything by halestorm would be a good choice.
Lots of different sides to Lzzy and Halestorm. Lzzy also collaborates with many other artists of many different styles of music. Listen to I Miss the Misery to hear the rocking side of what she can do.
Listen to "I Am The Fire" by Halestorm if you wanna hear Lzzy do her best rangey distorted vocals. Killer.
You haven't even touched on the awesome that is Lzzy. I am the Fire, Back from the Dead, Familiar Taste of Poison, Love Bites, and if you want a totally different collab, she joins Brent Smith from Shinedown on a version of Breaking Inside and a cover of We Will Rock you with Maria Brink from In This Moment and Taylor Momsom of The Pretty Reckless (you should check out Taylor's acoustic performance of "25", swear she's channeling Etta James in there someplace).
You need to check Lzzy Hale with the Hu, a Mongolian metal band and their song Song of Women.
Halestorm - I miss the misery
“Shatter Me”- Lzzy Hale and Lindsey Stirling is wonderful. For something completely different, check her out with The Hu on Song of Women. Extraordinary
Shatter Me would be a great choice!
Yes, live from Sirius XM
Shatter Me is incredible!
I concur
And… in my opinion, both Lzzie and Amy are holding back to be more effective in the duet ballad. Lzzy in particular has a LOT more gas in the tank than she showed here. Both ladies have the capability to let loose and effing BLOW.
That's quite common in duets where one or both hold back some to better harmonize the entire piece
Both of you are totally right. They're singing to serve the song, not their egos. You can see how in sync they are, too. They breathe together, their runs are perfectly together. Both of them are masters of their craft.
“I Am The Fire” and “A Familiar Taste of Poison”. Both videos are good and they show the different talents of Lzzy.
I am the fire for sure
Add "I MISS THE MISERY" and you've got a heck of a list started! ;)
Lzzy is AMAZING!!!!
Freak like me
I miss the misery
A familiar taste of poison
I love Halestorm so much talent. I got a chance to see them in concert last year. If you are interested in more Collabs though. Lzzy Hale was Featured in "Shatter me" with Lindsey Stirling and "Song of Women" with The HU,
Amy Lee also collab'd with Lindsey Stirling on "My Love Goes On and On"
Please react to the Hu Song of Women featuring Lizzy Hale. Mongolian heavy rock band that uses traditional instruments and throat singing. They invited Lizzy to write a new section of the song in English and it blends so well with the original song.
Lzzy is one of those special artists that in addition to her mad skills, she's an even better human being. If I'm correct, I believe this was recorded in Lzzy's home studio, so she would have intimate knowledge with the equipment. Amy didn't know they were going to record this at the same time, she figured she would just be tracking over Lzzy's part. I saw them do this live when Halestorm and Evanescence were on tour together. They will tour together again this fall, so I expect those Canadians will get to hear it.
On this Canadian tour, Halestorm and Evanescence will be joined by a brilliant up and coming band, The Warning. The Warning have toured with Halestorm before, and Lzzy even gifted a guitar to the guitarist on stage. Also tour Europe with Muse. 3 sisters from Monterey, MX. Check "Hell You Call a Dream" live at Pepsi Center.
For more Lzzy, listen to "Wicked Ways" live in Colorado Springs. Will show that brilliant grit that Lzzy is known for, and her interaction with the audience.
Beautiful, stunning harmonies ❤❤
They do actually trade off the high/low parts a couple of times in this but I agree...their voices blend so well that it is hard to tell
"Love Bites (and so do I) Live session is worth a pop. There is also the live video from their recent Wembley Arena gig on Halestorms channel which are nice and Raw.
Oct. 15th can't come fast enough. Seeing both these ladies with their bands in Vancouver. Not to mention the Warning will be there too. Super excited!
Amy is unique. She can belt out a song but that ethereal soft tone is special.
These two have done several concerts together. Gorgeous voices. I believe they are friends.
Lzzy has broadened her horizons over the last decade.
Great R&A,as always. The ladies have very nice voices and sing well together. Loved the breakdown of the details and techniques.
I realize there are unlimited musicians out there, but crawl out from under that rock. Lizzy and the Hu,song of woman.
Charismatic Voice did a reaction to a live version of Shatter Me with Lindsey Stirling, but in my opinion the original video really lets Lzzy go with the wail and grit she's so good at.
Absolutely love this performance! Lzzy's and Amy's voices work so well together!
I love Halestorm, if you want to do another song from them I'd probably recommend "I Miss the Misery". It's not my favorite Halestorm song, but it is one of their most popular songs and it shows a completely different side of Lzzy's voice.
I first heard Lzzy when she performed with Eric Church at the CMAs singing "That's Damn Rock and Roll". That's another video I'd love for you to check out!
She duets Separate Ways with Daughtry and they’re amazing together.
Halestorm is a 4 piece hard rock band. Lzzy on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Her little brother AreJay on drums. Joe Hottinger is lead guitar, and Josh Smith on bass. Lzzy and Arejay formed the band in 1997, she was 13 he was 10. Their Dad , Roger, played bass in the early days. Joe joined in 2003, Josh in 2004. 5 albums to date, #6 is in the works.
The song is from Halestorm's 2nd record in 2012. Halestorm and Evenescence have toured together a few times. Amy loves the somg, andwanted to do harmonies on it. They had performed it several times, and finally decided to make it official and record. They got together in that studio and just sang the song together a bunch of times, I think 6, and one of the takes was picked for release.
To check out the full Halestorm band, "I Am the Fire" or "I Miss the Misery" are good starts.
That's D@mn Rock and Roll at the CMAs with Eric Church. Nice reaction from him and the crowd.
Those harmonies are amazing! I love harmonies…. More please! 😊
I'm so happy you did this one. It is just gorgeous!
You always have stellar analysis. Love it.
Enjoy your R/As…thank you! You had mentioned that you were going to try to get an interview with Dan Vasc…wondering are there any plans for that to happen?
Has anyone ever told you that you should do country music? Seriously, your voice is enchanting..
Terrific analysis. Of all the harmonies I've heard, this is by far my favorite. I love their other works, but when they get together it's magic. Can you imagine what it would be like if they ever teamed up with Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa? Sell the car and buy a front row ticket to that concert.
Halestorm is one of my top 5 artists/bands (up there with Voiceplay and Geoff, and Jorge from Epic).
"I am the Fire" by Halestorm and "That's Damn Rock and Roll" by Eric Church featuring Lzzy Hale.
Halestorm did Love Bites (And So Do I) in the live sessions. It's fantastic and she sings the same exact way when she's live on stage as she does in that video. Her voice is so crazy powerful! Really enjoyed this breakdown! ❤
Burn Butcher Burn from Dan Vasc and the Witcher series!!!!!
I had the pleasure of seeing Halestorm live in Melbourne back in March '24. She was the onl female artist in 12 band metal concert. She was glorias as was her duet with David Draiman that night.
You need to check out The Warning. They are blowing up right now. They are MTV Push artists this month and they just played a couple songs on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. You can videos for those appearances on their channel where they played "S!CK" and "Automatic Sun" or the MTV channel for their Push performances. Their 4th album, Keep Me Fed, just came out debuting at #59 on the Billboard top 200. I'd suggest "Hell You Call A Dream live at the Pepsi Center", or "Evolve" on the 2024 MTV VMAs.
Halestorm "Love Bites (So Do I)" from In The Live Room. czcams.com/video/awz0Qf7uPSw/video.html If you want to hear how rock Lzzy Hale can be, this is the song you need to listen to. Every time I see this performance I still get chills. She is such an incredible singer and deserves all the attention she can get.
Wow! I've never heard them before. So SO Beautiful!
My 2 favorite female singers collabbing!!!! ❤❤ Love them both so much!
Yeah brother! My introduction to Lzzy was that interview with Elizabeth and this duet with Amy. I was so impressed with her and they blend together like Heaven. And Amy, well nuff said, legend! Take care Peter.
Halestorm - I Miss The Misery
I have tickets for Halestorm next month. It’ll be interesting to see her sing live after some of the things you pointed out.
YES, finally a reaction where Amy heard singing lower early then above Lzzy in the last chorus - thank you. Great reaction, thanks.
New sub.
Lzzy is an absolute powerhouse.
Facts
Halestorm-I Get Off live, she usually goes accopello into another song in the middle, it's amazing
Elizabeth (Charismatic Voice) did her analysis of this same video a couple of years ago. Might be interesting to compare notes (yes, that was a bad pun).
So good, man oh man.,
Halestorm. Dear Daughter
16:29 amazing voice!!!!
Lazy Hale is phenomenal. I love her song “Beautiful with you” and her cover of “All I wan do is make love to you” by Hart
Love me some harmony, you would love the group Epica and their song Sancta Terra(feat Floor Jansen). Symphonic metal at its finest.
Thanks for the analysis!!
Also check out "thats damn rock and roll" by eric church at the ACM awards show. Shes featured and completely steals the show.
I loved Evanescence growing up, Amy's voice has such a distinct colour and punch. I also love her duet with Bring Me The Horizon.
Don't have much experience with Halestorm yet, but I think I will check out some songs of them soon, always loved Lzzy's voice!
As mentioned in another comment as well: The Warning is my new obsession when it comes to rock. I'd also highly recommend checking out Hell You Call A Dream, as Dany's vocals are amazing in that performance. 😊
If you want to compare the original August 2012 I believe in El Paso was when they first sang the song together live in concert
Lots of great Halestorm tunes, BUT- check out Lzzy and The Hu (Mongolian band) and their song, "Song of Women"/ They asked her to do English lyrics to their song and it's brilliant. Powerful stuff. Check it out! (btw- loved the shout out to Elizabeth! 🥰)
This recording is one that took a while to happen! Originally Amy came in on the song as a surprise live and then it took years to get this. You could see the live version but it's not the best quality video, still amazing though.
Great video
You might want to check out Lizzy Hale with The Hu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!
Check out Back From the Dead by Halestrom. Lzzy shows how powerful her voice is.
I actually believe that Lzzy is doing the lower harmony in the second verse, only because if she's belting high, she uses that "Smiling grin" but she isn't in the second verse, as amy is doing all the high stuff.. just as at the end, the harmonies are reversed, Amy doing the high stuff...
More Evanescence?
You can check out The Change Live at Home - so you can really appreciate Amy's voice
You will get a lot of requests for their mainstream hits and they are good but IMHO if you want a good example of Lzzy's range you should check out the Warner Live Room performance of "Love Bites So do I." Its sort of a compromise in that it's a hit of theirs while really letting her show her rock chops now that you've heard her in this setting. And of course it's live so there is that.
Lzzy Hale is a BEAST! 🔥
Thanks Peter 😊
I am a very loving follower of both bands, and I was excited to hear this collaboration. By the end of it all I could think of was "ALRIGHT, who broke Amy Lee?!" Because compared to how Amy Lee sounded in the earlier Evanescence studio albums and live as well, she sounds like she's singing with 30% confidence. I was very sad :(
Great analysis of a great song.
Hey Peter, I would love to see you react to George London and Jerome Hines. My favorite bass baritone and bass.
Lzzy Hale is a legend.
Check out I'm Not An Angel by Halestorm.
Any Halestorm reactions are better if done with a live version, imo. They have a whole Live at Wembly show with many, many songs on their channel. I just think they are best analyzed live because it's the essence of what they do
Youve gotten suggestions for "shatter me", "song of women", i would also recommend stone sour "gimme shelter" ft lzzy, and "separate ways" with lzzy and Daughtry.
Love Lzzy. Try The Native Howl featuring Lzzy Hale.
Halestorm - Freak Like Me, Love Bites/So Do I, It's Not You, Back From Dead, Here's To Us
I’ll add “Mz Hyde” to the potential Halestorm list. Most reactors start with “I miss the misery” which isn’t a bad choice.
Great reaction!
You gotta love these women. Amazing voices, both. Wait until you get to Lzzy in full rock mode, she's phenomenal.
Another fantastic talent to check out would be Taylor Momsen of "The Pretty Reckless." She's also got a truly incredible rock voice, and I'm pretty sure she's good friends with Lzzy and Amy. Lzzy for sure, I'm a bit iffy on the Amy Lee connection. Halestorm, The Pretty Reckless and The Warning all did some shows together, if memory serves. Man, bet those were great gigs!
Love your videos Peter! You should check out Madie Hendricks. She has sang with Martina McBride Andrea Bocelli and is doing a live facebook concert soon. She is an amazing up and coming opera singer!
Please watch the show
Love this reaction. Please react more of Amy lee like "Wasted on you" feat. lindsey stirling (string sessions)
This song is great but it doesn't show even close to all that Lzzy can do. I recommend checking out Halestorm - "Love Bites (So Do I)" captured in The Live Room - czcams.com/video/awz0Qf7uPSw/video.html
The best 4 female vocalists. Loreena McKennit, Stevie Nicks, Amy Lee, & Lizi Hale. In no particular order
I know you love Amy's voice but Lzzy Hale has an equally powerful voice. Check out Halestorm - I Am The Fire
You should react to Unleash The Archers - Awakening
Seguo Lizzy da molto e ha collaborato con un numero incredibile di artisti. Ora è in tour come voce degli Skid Row😯. Potresti sentire Lizzy insieme a Miles Kennedy in "watch over you", fantastici.
@PeterBarber Do you have any analysis of any women doing sub harmonics? I really only know a couple female artist that do use sub harmonics so I realize its rare.
do Rammstein.
You'll love it.
Can I recommend the Female alphas of PPOP 🇵🇭🇵🇭 G22 Boomerang mv/wishbus 107.5 performance.. they also called as the Female counter part of PPOP kings Sb19 coz same vibe, also a vocal monster,.. thanks.😊😊😊
Nothing is difficult for lizzy😊
Lzzy just sings,, sings
Day 1 - lament for boromir by clamavi de profundis. There is a section of the song that is lower and more bass like, but the whole song is generally really beautiful
This is the best version i know of czcams.com/video/LjPxuY9djhw/video.htmlsi=su9DRM0ezLNM34Ha
Please react Aina Abdul
You should react to falling in reverse Ronald ft tech n9ne and Alex Terrible love your vids also react to nobody like me by eckoh ft tech n9ne again keep it up
Smith Helen Williams William Johnson Donna
@PeterBarber said that Diana Аnkudinowa's voice was a result of digital modulation and I've hated him ever since!!!!!!!!!
I expect him to say that Dimash's voice is also the result of digital modulation and this will kill me for good!
I love you
It's always fun to see people who know nothing about video production complaining when they hear the truth.
