I was in her shoes 3 years ago. My babies were only 2 & 3 years old and height of Covid. I’m healing and back to work ❤️
happy to hear it!
🤍
She’s fortunate to be in a position to have someone advocating for her to do further tests to find it at stage 1 (and have the resources). Most women would be told their scans and mammogram are clear and be sent home, until it’s found at a later stage.
Best of luck to her for the future. 🙏
Lifetime risk assessment test/ get an mri
That is why American insurance companies should not be telling people what tests they can do.If you have enough money in this country, you have great Health Insurance. And she has great Health Insurance. Not every woman has the option. She has and that's the problem
@@janicepacheco6826 it’s not even about having great insurance… she can pay cash for ANYTHING! She also waited for NOTHING! By the time I was 38, I had already had 8 biopsies, 2 surgeries and dozens of mammos/ultrasounds… it took all of that for my doctor to even mention an MRI. I also had to wait months for that MRI. I’m currently waiting til August (made the appt in late March) for a specialist.
Being a celebrity with tons of money truly gives a privilege that most of them can’t even begin to understand.
Exactly
My insurance is an accepted at any of the gynecologist around here and I had an ovarian cyst that burst inside me two months ago. I’ve been so sick since then fevers all the time and I can’t afford to see a doctor.
Michael is empathetic, sympathetic, and the perfect journalist to conduct this interview
He’s daughter has brain cancer
I agree. I've always liked him. Seems like a very down to earth, humble guy. I like her, though I've never seen her in anything. Bless her heart. Thankfully, technology has advanced so much. Also, she has a doctor that went to hell & back. My grandmother (mom's side) was diagnosed in 1980. Passed in '82. Mom would drive her to the chemo treatments & she would talk about how tired & worn out she was. Ironic. The treatments made her sicker than the cancer itself did.
Strahan is a lisping mess.
isn’t he a football player?
@@troychriscarretas2657retired
I’m glad she’s talking about this. She is not alone.
What's the purpose other than furthering her career?...
@@a.sydney5036to make people aware. Seriously????
@@a.sydney5036 Maybe to let other women know that even the rich & famous get the same diseases they do/did. Perhaps to remind women, who are statistically often ignored or told "you're just imagining it" that NO, be aggressive in your testing & treatment, because you're the one who's going to suffer if things are found late.
Perhaps to remind women - and men too - that with the advances in medicine & science, we can discover our increased risk factors soon enough to make changes or take steps to mitigate the damage done to us.
@@a.sydney5036 To educate others who might be facing the same thing. Also, it's likely not going to help the career of a woman whose career has focused on her face and youthful body to be talking openly about losing her youthful body.

@@blablabroz9772 thank you! Diagnosed at my very first mammogram! Screenings are so important! 💕

I"m 13yrs free from the same. You get stronger every day.
@@the-gadgeteer hallelujah🙏❤️🙏
I was just diagnosed in July 2023, two days before my wedding Anniversary. As Olivia was talking I was transfixed on every word and emotion that can out her mouth. I felt her fear, pain, exhaustion and emotional turmoil. So glad she has a good support system and she is very loved by family, friends and her fans. Her story will motivate women and men to get mammogram, and she will save many lives. I will keep her and her family in my 🙏🏼.
I wish you all the best.
I am so happy that the cancer was caught in time. Glad that her doctor took the extra steps, even though she showed no signs of cancer during her usual screenings. What is scary is what about the rest of us? It's pretty scary.
My thoughts exactly smh.
There's little hope for the rest of us. We've seen what all these celebs go through and they have the money and connections for the best doctors, and still, many die. Sadly, sickness and death is part of life and life is short.
Why is there a explosion of cancer rates now??
She’s fortunate that her doctor had foresight and took the assessment risk test for her. A lot of women don’t have someone looking out for them like this.
Unfortunate she got sucked into a medical industry protocol designed to extract money, more so than cancer.
that lack of consent tho
I had already been a fan of Olivia’s since her days on G4, but after hearing her talk about her fight with cancer, she’s now one of my heroes.
My partner did hormone suppression. It was a grueling 6 months of her angry, crying, happy, crying, angry. But now we have an 80 percent chance of her getting pregnant . She says it was worth it.
A routine mammogram saved my life. I had no symptoms or felt no lump. I normally have my mammogram on my birthday month but in 2018 I had my mammogram in early august 3 months after my birthday and it came back suspicious. I was called to come back for another mammogram and then was told I needed an ultrasound. The ultrasound confirmed a mass so then I needed a biopsy. In September of 2018 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction on November 1, 2018. In December of 2018 I was told that I would not need radiation or chemo. I was stage 1. Thanks to God, I have completed my 5 years in December of 2023! The surgeries were brutal but I would do it all over again. It’s true, you do see life differently after a cancer diagnosis. I Thank God everyday for my life and my family!!❤
What a lovely, grounded and strong LADY!!! KUDOS to Michael for a wonderful interview! I know he is dealing with cancer in his family and his strength and sensitivity touched me to my core! My father passed from cancer after a 25 year battle in 1997, so seeing these interviews gives me hope that we WILL eradicate this beast! 🙏 ❤👍👏
I am praying for her. God bless her and others going through this.
Which god? There are thousands of them. I am sure yours is the right one though. Grow up and put the book of fairy tales down. Talking to your imaginary friend isn't helping anyone.
@@QS-si3cq There is only 1 God, brother. Sorry but why are you referring to Fairy Tales - that is kinda stupid. Associating a monotheistic religion has nothing to do with fairy tales. Fair tales are written by MAN. As a Muslim, I will speak this - there is no proof Quran was written by a Man. Its a message from Allah and there is enough evidence to show it is true. Just because you don't see it obvious does not mean God does not exist.
I am happy to argue with you on this - bring your science or whatever Sam Harris source you wanna use.
Great interview Michael very heart felt and moving God bless all people that are going through this.
It’s so nice media news talking about more health care
WOMEN's healthcare.
I have to get a biopsy for a lesion in my breast that looks suspicious. I'm thankful for her being willing to share her story.
Sending prayers up for good news!!
Best wishes that it's benign & the only one you have to fear!
I am so so sorry to learn of Olivia Munn's health challenges. What a beautiful person and her family. I am also glad her partner is right by her side. I am sending Canadian Northern Comfort to her and family and prayers for her to be out of pain and on the road to having another child. Peace to the World.
Hope she wins this battle
Hope she at least referred to God but no, she is secularist , too arrogant and confident that there is no God on the other side.
You go girl! Prayers for the best outcome. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Prayers go out to Olivia & her family my daughter has been fighting 2 types of rare stage 4 breast cancer strains of cancer going on almost 5 years. I’m so grateful that she’s sharing her story. This is very important for other women to hear! Anyone with a cancer dx, please remember that medical care has become so advanced and the survival rate is much higher now than ever before. There’s hope! ❤ 💪🏾
Men, too.
Such an important conversation. Thank you ❤
Olivia has always been honest and genuine. I've been following her since early in her career. I'm happy for her that she's survived this to be here with us much much longer. ❤
I lost an aunt to cancer when I was 8 (it wasn’t breast cancer but it was still awful). I pray for Olivia and anyone dealing with breast cancer or any other kind of cancer.
Get well Olivia. Love from Malaysia.
My heart goes out to her & her family
You are so beautiful inside and out, Olivia!! Blessings and prayers for you, John and Malcolm!!! ❤❤❤
So sad. God bless her and her family. ❤
Best wishes for a complete recovery.
Yeah, mammogram and ultrasound clear, genetic testing negative, but she is referred for an mri because of a lifetime risk assessment test. Any one of us normal minions would not have been given that option . Doc wouldve said, "meh, youre good, and your insurance wont cover further tests anyway." I hate our "health care" in this country.
Agreed, but not just about money or health insurance. Most doctors wouldn't think of doing this because I'm sure the risk of this happening is EXTREMELY low. I would assume doctors do this based on risk, right? Given she is a celebrity, is why the doctor, in my opinion, went above and beyond in this case.
She in all likelihood has been "overtreated/diagnosed" and could have just continued on with her life as normal without having been subjected to these unnecessary "diagnostic" tests and "preventative" procedures. It's a case of one having _too much_ information and access to "resources". Chops off her tits and pulls out her uterus at the drop of a hat. Had she simply put "family" first ; ahead of silly show-biz career child-bearing at an earlier more naturally suitable age would have been the antidote for what ails her
@@finnolive0958 Also because she is able to pay out of pocket for an MRI.
@@tlbrooklyn I hear what you are saying, but not sure doctors who are not treating a celebrity are considering that (think they are going by risk, which again is TINY that this will be found in the average person with no symptoms).
Olivia, I'm praying & pulling for you & your family! There is nothing fiercer than a mother's will to be around for her baby(ies). Take good care!💞🙏💞

I've always loved Olivia Munn. I hope she does well.
I remember her very well during her days when she and Kevin perreria were hosting attack of the show on G4TV back in 2006 😀😀😀😀
She's been so blessed in life with beauty, successful career, family, then this terrible thing happens probably feels the rug has been pulled from beneath her. She will triumph and grow old gracefully! Many deal with the horrid cancer diagnosis, have to be positive.

HUGS and LOVE My Dear Olivia...from one cancer patient to another
Imagine having the money to do 3 rounds of egg retrieval. It's good she is bringing awareness, but there are so many that can't afford these options
imagine having the money to pay for an MRI when insurance doesn't cover it. "normal" people's insurance is NOT going to pay for an MRI with clear scans - I've never even heard of that, and now I'm wondering if I can get an MRI
@@brandy7572 True - but perhaps with enough women who DO have the means to get this done, & showing the benefits, insurance will one day choose to be PROactive for women's health rather than REactive as is far more often the case.

Been a fan since Attack of the Show, soo sorry to hear about this. She's soo grounded now, I really wish her a healthy recovery and that they have that baby. You can hear how much it means to her
I've been crushing on Olivia since the Attack of the Show days. I live in LA and ended up being able to enjoy a brief chat with her on a gig I was on at the time. An absolute sweetheart. Laid back, down-to-earth, and stunningly gorgeous in person. Happy to see she is fighting the good fight.
Olivia May you have only good health from here on out. Thank you for sharing your story. 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏
I wish her all the best. And a full recovery for her and her son.
This is amazing! I don't know why but there was something surreal, sobering and beautiful about watching this. It really just hit me how time has made adults of us. I was a young twenty something, just like her, when I first saw her, when she appeared on the G4 show 'Attack of the Show' and she was awesome. We were all just young and having fun now were are in our 40's with families and I would have never thought back in the early 2000's that this would be fathomable. Because life hadn't quite hit yet. Now I am testing for colon Cancer and talking to my Dr's about when I should be doing prostate checks. IDK I am rambling but there was just something about see her and hearing her talk about her family having John wanting another baby and being happy in that family, that made me reflect on the passage of time. I think it is so amazing that she is showing the world what so many woman and men go through in the 'dark'. I pray for her, her family and all women and men and their families out there fighting the Cancer. Be strong! You can beat it!
Truly hope she beats this

Love you, thank you for sharing your story.
As long as it hasn’t spread to other areas, she has higher chances beating this monster. She removed them on time. Now it’s more important than ever to watch what she eats.
Wow, her doctor was amazingly aggressive. Clear mammogram and ultrasound, and 0% chance of cancer from genetics. Most doctors would say, great, see ya next year.
Yes, because testing can frequently produce false positives. That's why full body scans regulatory for no reason are not done very often. There are so many benign things that can pop up and cause stress and anxiety. I have talked to my doctors about this and I get it (I've had to go through biopsy, etc. for incidental findings that were completely benign at the end of the day, and the stress was terrible). The risk vs. reward is looked at. People keep saying it is all about the money, but how many people on here who have great jobs and money aren't getting these tests...most of us!
@@finnolive0958 but her doctor went beyond scanning for even more aggressive testing. That’s the part that really hit me. What was it that led her doctor to even more testing, even though every other test came out clean?
Agreed as imaging technology has improved, so has the need to more closely identify breast tissue that normally wouldn’t have been picked up. And yes, that leads to a lot of scanxiety, which I’ve also personally experienced.
It’s not because of big medical or big pharma. It’s because of scientific advances & improvements in imaging technology. Now we have to examine everything more closely.
Whatever that last screening her doctor did was life-saving.
Let’s catch more cancer at stage 0 and stage 1.
@@annt7384 Her life risk for breast cancer I would think must be pretty simple (not a test of her blood, scan as you said, but just looking at her life - no babies, etc.). Agreed, doctors should consider that more.
Dealing with family medical issues myself the best advice I can give is to not knock down other smaller hospitals but a recommendation to visit larger well known reputable hospitals tied to a major university. I used Stanford Medical in California for my father and the quality of care is amazing. Its a longer drive away but it was worth it.
