- Our journey to Gokyo begins with a 320km long motorcycle ride from Kathmandu to Taksindu from where we head out for an incredible journey to reach the summit of Gokyo Ri!
Hiking to reach one of the highest settlements in the world with beautiful Gokyo lakes and rivers surrounded by majestic mountains, four of them over 8000m high, spectacular view of Mount Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyu (8,201m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m) and the longest possibly largest glacier of Nepal - Ngozumpa Glacier!
Travel Itinerary:
Day 1: Kathmandu to Taksindu by road
Day 2: Taksindu to Kharikhola
Day 3: Kharikhola to Paiyo
Day 4: Paiyo to Phakding
Day 5: Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Day 6: Namche Bazaar to Dole
Day 7: Dole to Machermo
Day 8: Machermo to Gokyo
Day 9: Gokyo Ri summit
Road to Taksindu is an alternative to flying from Kathmandu to Lukla in other word Lukla by Road.

When I was released from the Hospital after recovering Covid-19, I had no strength in my body, I was unable to attend my prayer, I was unable to sit somewhere more then 30 minutes, I was so weak. But still managed to snack in to my desk and start this video in my desktop and kept watching this. This video and the music stuck in my head and whenever I feel law and weak I do keep coming back to see this video again and again.

Gorgeous video that brings back so many memories. I was there in 1985 only a few weeks after the Langmoche Flash Flood had destroyed large sections of trails and bridges between Phakding and Namche Bazaar making the walk much harder and potentially deadly in places. We were scrambling over steep, loose sand and unstable boulders, some as big as cars along the Dudh Kosi before climbing straight up the mountain to Namche. Even though I spent that night with altitude sickness, the next morning we went above the village where I got my first view of Ama Dablam and the top of Sagramartha. It was magic.
I had spent 8 days in Gokyo valley and 48 days in Khumbu, when I visited Gokyo it was full of snow in the month of March

I went to this trek last 2018 on janaury, the lake was totally freezing, I step up n dancing suddenly ice melted n then I skid badly 😢😀 it was so much pain but a good memories.
I felt like an old friend is showing me his place around. Nicely depicted and simple information.

Stunning and I am amazed at the quality and professionalism of the video content! Very natural serene and lovely animals. I have been to Nepal including remote areas like Sristhaan and Dullu. Very historical culture lovely respectful people filled with immense traditional values. Diverse food, arts, cultural groups and soothing Buddhist mantras and temples. The feelings cannot be described with words but better experienced with lifelong memories. I miss Nepal everyday.. cannot wait to visit again .. trekking will on next agenda, loving warm regards from Australia.

....back in 2011, from Gokyo village, we trek to Namche Bazar through Renjo La pass....walking about 5 hours in the rain snow and strong windy...we reach the first village, Maralung, 4200m and stay at Namaste Lodge....See you again Nepal :-)

Brings back SO many memories. I visted Nepal 4 times and I love the place. When I was there the accomadation was no where near what it is today. My room had a window with no glass, just open to the cold night. It was freezing. Toilet outside.
