I mean, a 1260 from Varga, whatever that was from RW, the 360 from the 6 year old.

Dear ESPN, This is how to do the XGames. This is by far the most entertaining BMX set of comps you have ever had. Best of all, it highlighted the reasons we all are in it. You could see the family, friends, and comraderie. No LeBron tantrums, just good natured fun, no matter how it played out.

Man I use to dream of becoming a pro BMX rider. I was getting good then I got diagnosed with AS and it stopped everything but I still can live my dream through these amazing athletes. Hopefully one day I’ll make it to one of these shows to watch in person. Congratulations Mike Varga with that stupid crazy 1260. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

I would think they were already stressing. With the 1260 world first in park and 360 flip to flip first time in park too. I can see why they chose the 1260 because it's been such a hunted trick and it's more spins, huge landmark trick. Where as the 360 flip to flip is probably equally huge and technical, but no one has ever tried it on a box before this day. I guess r-willy is so far ahead of the field he is doing tricks people can't even conceive of and somehow that has hurt him here. Still such an epic result!

30:01 is one of the most technical tricks ive ever seen. Amazing run by the young man beforehand, bravo! Unbelievable what modern BMX has grown to, HUGE respect to all the riders!

the step up they keep hitting at the start reminds me so much of the step up that was in scotty's old indoor park before they got rid of it. looks almost identical

As sports change, boxing, baseball ect. The X-Games from what I can see over the years has always been the same. Always entertaining, daredevil like tricks and always great enthusiastic announcing. Not to mention when they create a place like this to present the show on the farm. Chickens, Pigs and Ramps ohhh my.
This was so awesome, overall just everyone pushing each other wanting the progression, then honoring Dave to the extent they made the medal a gold pedal instead of the x medal lol. I wish they would extend the time to accommodate an extra run or two for the riders to be able to put on an even better show
All you have to say is Gold Pedal and people should know that it's a Dave Mirra best trick competition. Seeing as the Gold Pedal is a Dave Mirra signature award.

Man has bmx changed since my day. Bigger handlebars, no seat post, smaller sprockets. Terrible 1 made the best handle bars I've ever used and my favorite frame I ever owned was a Volume Hellion.
No brakes or pegs
@@coloradodirtbike5930 I had pegs, but for the most part I rode brakeless. The one who I think started that, no proof of it mind you was a local rider in Bethlehem, PA (I lived near Allentown) was a dude named Joe "The Butcher" Kowalski. My last bike was actually his signature bike from Hoffman. Wasn't my favorite ride, but it was clean. Had I known I was bipolar back then, I probably would have worn a helmet. We used to ride at the local Bethlehem college. Was a famous spot back then, maybe it still is.
I do wish they had left sided sprockets back then. I'd almost always land on my sprocket back then because I grinded on the right side. I mostly kept the same parts, but would change frames or swap frames with friends. I've had an S&M Dirtbike, Standard STA, Volume Hellion, Volume Destroyer, Haro Blammo (worst frame I've ever rode), Standard Lengthy (the newer version that was basically an STA), Hoffman Butcher, Hoffman Lil Deebo. I really miss that Hellion. I had traded a friend for it for his STA. Regretted it right away and he wouldn't trade back. He cut the drop outs to make room for 14mm axles, and the cuts were uneven. That's when I got the Lengthy which turned out to be stolen, so I gave it back to the kid. Got the Butcher and it was my final bike. I never got good, so I just quit. now that I look back, it wasn't the tricks that I enjoyed, it was the friends I made and times I had.
