    Hang on, so it appears to be a “curse” to be a firstborn according to this… Did we choose to be born first then?

      This is the point of Romans 9! It's not a curse, it's just a matter of being "passed over" for the role of Covenant "mediator/steward." The covenant/promise is mediated through the righteous seed line until Christ, the True and Only Mediator. The reason for this is to teach mankind that the son of the flesh (Adam) must be cut away to make room for the Son of the Spirit (Christ.)
