  • Learn how to successfully change yarn colors in your crochet projects. This also works for changing skeins/balls of yarn when you need to add more yarn to your project. And it works for the times when you come to a knot in the yarn and you decide to cut out the knot so it won't weaken your finished project.

I like your presentation of your art. You remind me of my mother. You are very easy to understand and I don’t feel that I need to go out and buy the most expensive yarns to work with. Thank you and God bless you.

You're welcome, Sharyn! I'm not on CZcams to sell yarn. I'm here to help educate crocheters to learn more and advance the craft of crochet. Thank you for your kind words. God bless you today and always!

Do you have (or can you make) a video on adding yarn from a new skein? My 1st project is progressing, thanks to your help! Thanks for making such great videos.

Mara, You're very welcome! I actually talk about changing skeins at 6:37 in this video. You'll change to the new skein the same way I demonstrate changing colors in a project in this video: in the last YO, draw through of the stitch before the new skein is added. Always leave enough tail on both skeins (old and new) to weave in when you're done. And if possible, add the new skein at the end of the row instead of in the middle (it's easier to work over the tails when adding the edging/border if the tails are at the end of the row and the tails will be more secure at the edges). Does this make sense?
