I don’t understand the notion of “we are Chelsea this was a failure” when 12 months ago we were literally 12th. Were there bad results? Absolutely, no denying it. But chopping and changing the manager every 6 months is going to do nothing but stagnate the incredible talent we already have. This is just begging for us to finish 10th and the cycle will repeat itself once again.

    • @user-if6bx1gq5w

Unless we get a proper manger in which solves the problem. It’s a failure because this team showed they were completely capable once the manager finally made changes to his tactics and was forced to make a change in midfield both were things he should’ve and could’ve easily done earlier but he didn’t. He only did it once he was forced to due to injury and because his job was clearly on the line. So he’s doesn’t get credit for making a late run because it was due to reasons that could’ve occurred earlier and helped us secure top 4. You can’t tell me there’s not been a few times this year where you’ve questioned pochs choices and been completely right. Most people have said he’s made bad decisions this year because he has and the fact we were only a few points off top four just shows the quality of the squad was always good enough but they were hampered by the managers poor decisions. This team was a couple pochetino poor decisions away from being top 4

    • @inticfc7734

@@ChakalaPhad Poch changed tactics or just benched an injured enzo earlier then we likely make top 4. In which case everyone’s happy and saying he did a good job. The fact we were able to play so well to finish the season and the main two things that changed were the tactics and enzo getting shut down just shows that we were good enough all along to actually contend for top 4 but this Bozo was too stubborn and didn’t make changes until he was forced too by an injury getting worse and his job being on the line.

We NEEDED Tuchel to help with the transfers, we didn’t have a board! We weren’t allowed to assemble those things before the new owners took over because of the sanctions.
Moreover, I genuinely believe that Tuchel is more effective in cup competitions than in the league. We were lucky to get top 4 in his first season, we had to depend on other results to get it. And in his second season, we finished 3rd, five points above Arsenal in fifth, after being extremely poor from November until the end of the season. While I do believe injuries played a part in the underperformance, I think people look at his time at the club with rose-tinted glasses because the was such a loveable character. They forget that our decline started half a season before Tuchel was sacked, before the war started and we were sanctioned.

People talk about those last 5 games, but in those last 5 games Pochettino was forced to make the changes he did to that team that was winning because of injuries. If not for the injuries he would not have made them. Madueke has been there all season, but he kept him on the bench. As for the players wanting to take penalties, Pochettino threw Madueke and Jackson under the bus who were following his orders that he explained in two press conferences that the player confident to take the penalty should take it and that Palmer was not the penalty taker. You also have Enzo a world cup midfielder, Caicedo a player all the top teams wanted and Sterling the highest scoring winger in Premier League history if you exclude penalties all bought for these reasons in a fight against the top teams and not being provided a platform to produce what they have shown they are capable of under Pochettino's management. of the last 5 games, 2 were won because of one of these players being brought off the bench to save Pochettino from failing to win and the last game was won because of that same player he had been keeping on the bench in games before who only played because the player Pochettino wanted to play was injured following a concussion. This all sounds like disorganisation to me and a team that has achieved what it has not because of, but despite Pochettino's management and more could have and should have been achieved this season. What would Abramavich have done? Pretty much the same thing this Chelsea management have done. It's the right call. Peace and love

The idea that Poch was completely out of the loop on transfers is extremely misguided. You can find many press conferences throughout the season where he explicitly says the board take on any feedback he gives them. I think soon people will come to realize with new information that his newly crafted demands go far beyond that.

Chelsea are back to the same position they were when they hired potter, will probably hire a project manager who'll get a 5 year deal but will show hes out of his depth 6 months in and get sacked.
Hire lampard on an interim deal and rinse and repeat.

This team had 0 Discipline and that reflected extremely poorly on the manager. We’ve conceded more goals than we ever have had in the PL and more yellow cards than we ever have had. We are up 4-0 against Everton and we’ve got players fighting over penalties. Nico Jackson getting suspended for too many yellows and it’s not even from tough tackles just dissent. And lastly we’ve had a team Captain sent off not once, not twice, but 3 TIMES this season!!!! Reece James only played 10 Games this year, didn’t even start all of them and still managed to get 2 red cards

  • @pablotechful

Going by what these owners want, I'm safe with Fabregas. Chelsea should sign him. He just promoted a team that finished 13th in one season! Coached by various top managers, a midfielder, has Xabi Alonso vibe to it and the attention to details like a Pep. Get Fabregas the right profile for both the board and the squad

The problem with most of PochOuters is that yeah, they can be upset with results under Poch, but completely dismissive of the potential appointments. You can't be Poch out and just cover your mouth and say appoint someone with 'winning mentality', a 'proven winner'. Dude these cliche phrases make me sick. These people are like a spoiled kept woman, an ignorant mistress who enjoys all the amenities, but is COMPLETELY clueless about how the world works and just wants to enjoy spoils of success. They don't want to think of replacement and don't take any context into account. The context of having W&S and numerous club statements, inside info about the strategy of the club. Have you seen the managerial market? If you were stupid enough to think Tuchel or Conte were in conversation in case of Poch sacking, it doesn't mean everybody was. Nobody sane in his mind and thinking logically was expecting them names to be considered because a thinking person would firstly try to understand the context without resorting to emotions. And the context is that Poch WAS that 'experienced' manager. REad the goddam club statement when he was appointed. The context is that if even lenient and soft Poch was not able to compromise, how the hell would you think they would return a vocal Tuchel? Now we are selling Gallagher and Chalobah 99% and there are two more holes in this squad to cover, because this was certainly one of disagreements with the board. That's more context for you. God, why people can't think at least one or two more steps beyond. These people don't live in reality - they sniffing that potent hopium every day. They want the cake and eat it too, and they are for a major humbling next season. I get being negative about Poch, it is fine, I am rating his season as 6/10, nothing close to GOOD, but damn it kills me to see clueless fans like this thinking it is Roman times and someone like Tuchel was even on the table and not even thinking couple of steps ahead of sacking. Now people like you will cry EVEN MORE next season because there is a high chance that a manager like McKenna or Michel are gonna be here, which is pure gambling at this point. It can turn out good, but fuck me it would require almost EVERYTHING to click from the getgo.

I don’t agree with this Poch vs Enzo take. If your 100mill midfielder is too hurt to play effectively then it doesn’t matter what he cost you bench him and tell him he’s not playing until he gets healthy. not just for the teams sake but for his future health. If he had done so we would’ve played better and likely made top 4. In which case he’s reached a target that everyone would’ve been happy with and wouldn’t have had the hierarchy looking to replace him. The most damming thing to me about Poch though was how many yellow card we gave up and goals we conceded that were easily attributed to this teams lack of Discipline. Yes it’s young team so discipline isn’t a given and will be lack at times but it’s on the manager to instill a level of discipline in his team and Poch def failed to do that
