Basilica Shrine Carillon Bells on WHYY-TV

Visitors of the Basilica Shrine and members of the Germantown, Philadelphia, community have long known the joy of listening to hymns performed live by Janet Tebbel on our century-old carillon bells. Now, thanks to a local PBS affiliate, WHYY-TV, the Basilica Shrine's bells can be enjoyed throughout the Philadelphia region and around the world.
On Good Friday 2024, WHYY debuted a feature segment about our towering musical instrument on the station's "You Oughta Know" series. There are 47 bells arranged within the Basilica Shrine's bell tower, most of which were manufactured before the turn of the 20th century.

Very interesting and beautifully played. I used to live several blocks away on Magnolia Street, and enjoyed my visits to the basilica shrine. “O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.” ♥️♥️♥️
