The only thing I "don't like" about your vlogs is that my "Places to visit" list gets longer every time I watch haha Which, after all, is not necessarily a bad thing :)
LOL sorry, not sorry!
South Korea is really THE PLACE for aesthetic cafes... WOW!
Thank you for taking us to Gunsan! The city's history is sooo interesting... ^^
right?! hahahah every city has at least 5 gorgeous options and thanks for coming along~
I think I mightâve mentioned this on one of your other videos before? But I really love seeing these like historical sites and just really appreciate the fact that you also show us this more historical side of Korea. Also that iced ì ìì°š looked sooo refreshing đ©
im so so glad cause i genuinely love going to these places too!!! and omg it was exactly what i needed on a hot summer morning hahah
I believe about 30-40% of the rice produced in the country during Chosun period were forfeited to Japan. These were mostly used as supplies for Japanese military. Iâm glad u got to experience and appreciate the sad part of Korean history. And I appreciate u informing it to people. Not alot of foreigners are aware of that.
im thankful gunsan had so much information around the city to help me learn!
1. Never in my life would I have guessed you went to Gunsan on your instagram question about guessing where you were going
2. I can't believe you just up and went to Jeolla for a day trip dang
Love me some long bus rides đ
đŻ thank you for sharing about Gunsan, I love that they turned it into a prideful and beautiful place đ
I live in Gumsan. Thank you for coming to Gunsan.^^
Hello, can u tell me how is Gunsan? Is it safe? We live in India n planning to shift to Gunsan for couple of years.
Plz reply
yay itâs always a happy day when cari uploads
gah! thankyou^^
My dad just passed but I used to force him to watch your vlogs with me as I would try to show him the beauty and charm of Korea hoping he would take me one day as a father daughter trip since heâs always been so fond of food and travel, more so than my mom. Youâve always done an amazing job. Your vlogs always have that Cari touch to them, with your old soul and artistic persona. I hope to go next summer after I turn 19, I hope I get to meet you so we can share in our fondness of tea, films, and also as Iâve just discovered through this vlog - blacks sesame. Lol. Please never stop making vlogs! x
I am so sorry to hear about your loss! Good to hear you're keeping up his love of travel, and I hope your future trip is amazing. If we're both in Seoul at the same time I'll treat you to some black sesame bingsu!
I'm always love your video touring around south korea, not just seoul đ keep going, Cari
im glad, cause i love making these heheh thank you!!
I love to see and âexploreâ Korea through your videos, and hopefully one day I will finally organize myself and take a vacation there! Thank you for making these videos! đ
thanks for coming along on my little adventures with me!!
Korea is naturally beautiful, the vibe is so nice. I hope one day I can go and visit that amazing country! :') â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž, Cari your videos are so nice as well as your personality. Hope you can always be happy and healthy.
thank you so much, hope you're happy n healthy too :)
Would love to see you visit Gwangju, there's so much history there that not many vloggers show.
i have the trip planned, just need to set time to get there haha i want to stay overnight and have multiple days to explore so hopefully sometime this summer :)
Love that you visited Jeollabuk! Wow that blue sky @7:29 ! Beautiful video and Gunsan!
looooooove jeollado!!!
In the very beginning, when your hair is in a ponytail, it looked like you had short hair & omg it also suits you LOL! Plus, i also really appreciate these videos because you literally take us to places we probably won't even know to visit when going to south korea, so thank you for that. đ
hahaha i dream of being able to have short hair but my hair is way too thick - maybe someday tho!! and thankYOU!
I think so tooo!!! :D
Super interesting comment about the similarities between Irish and Korean history! Korean history is always so complex and every time I think I understand it I find out something new that creates a whole new perspective đź loved the video as always đ
im so thankful for towns like this that have so much information to help us keep learning!! thankyou^^
Could you make a video on the nooks and crannies of HongDae, like on the unknown hidden gems there? I would really appreciate that. Loved the history lesson in the beginning!
im always scared of doing that because there are sooo many and i'd want to show them all but cant feasibly hahah maybe i'll try to start small heheh
@@caricakes you could make it into a mini series đ! Do 2 - 5 each time. Maybe like, one cafe, one photo op place and one shopping place/quiet area?
so excited to visit Korea next year and visit some of these different cities other than Seoul! love the relaxing & unique vlogs đ đ
the transportation here makes it so easy to explore! hope you have fun^^
i love the history lesson in this! knowing the historical background of the places you visit only makes the experience richer!
Cari anywhere she goes: omg the owners were SO nice đ„°đ„°
I felt the same Irish-Korean history connection in the Seodaemun Prison History Museum in Seoul! Forcing the colonizer language on the people, the arrests, the hangings, etc. That's an excellent museum! I'd love to see you vlog about it someday.
i still need to visit!!
AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR AWESOME VLOG CARI!!
Oh my gosh this city is gorgeous! That cafe was so nice! I loved the vibe of this small-ish town! The architecture and temple area were so pretty too!
The music choices were just perfect in this video like can I just say at like 7:36 omg đź Breathtaking.
gah thank you! and right?!
youâre seriously amazing. i love how much you appreciate a places history and culture before going youâre really one of a kind here on youtube â€ïž
I loved this Vlog, the atmosphere was just so special and there was so much interesting information. And I always love your music choices!
I'm now in the blackhole that is clicking link after link in Wikipedia but I LOVED the connection you made between Gunsan and Ireland being in similar situations as food producers for their colonizers. I am now reading up on Gunsan during the occupation and it's fascinating and heartbreaking. Thanks for another great video, CarI!
yeah, i took countless korean history courses for my major and even i am still finding out new things every day. glad we could learn a little bit together!!
Love your daytrip videos! So fun seeing so many different areas of korea
thanks for joining^^~
I love your vlogs so much that even I, a true grandma at heart, stay up till midnight to watch
omg thank you!! go to sleep after tho hahaha
Absolutely love the vibe of this whole video. Great learning about all the history and beautiful architecture. Also, temple cat sighting!
i would have been so sad if i hadnt seen the temple cat hahaha and thanks!!
I am mostly housebound due to chronic illness, and you going out and taking us places is like we're there with you. I'm enjoying these vlogs so much! Thankyou x
Cari i always enjoy watching your videos and learning more about Korea! đ„°âš
yee thank you always!!!
South Korea is really place for aesthetic cafes. WOW! Thank you for taking us to Gunsan! The city's history is so interesting and beautiful. I want to travel.
Beautiful video. Great to see Gunsan City after so many years. I spent almost two years from 1990-91, then returning in 94 and staying until 99 stationed at Kunsan Air Base. I wish I could go back for a visit and see some old friends. Most Americans would leave after a year, so I had more Korean friends than American ones. So many changes have taken place in the years since I left.
Oh man. A nice little trip down memory lane. Gunsan was the first travel me and my (now) wife did after I was stationed back in Korea for a second time. Loved this video!
its such a gorgeous area!
Iâve always thought the Japanese occupation in Korea was so interesting. Itâs sad but really fascinating to see how Korea came back from such an attempt to culture strip them. Great video, Cari! (Also, your summer dress is absolutely adorable!!) â€ïžâ€ïž
agreed! and thank you :)
I always look forward for your videos!Love you!!
Wholesome video once again đđđ
I am a newer subscriber and you just are awesome! :D I love to watch while I'm studying the Korean language. I'm going to visit Seoul in late September! I am so excited! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Can't wait for your next video. :D
Cari I love your videos and I love your music choices omg itâs like your playing exactly what I want to hear thanks
Im glad!!!!
Another impressive video! I really liked the history lesson at the start and the attention you show to Korea's history.
Im rewatching all of your videos bc I caught up a while ago and just cannot wait for every new vlog đ Im having fun though! Your videos are always such an inspiring mood booster. Thanks! đ
Hahah thank you so much!
Love your outside Seoul videos. Gunsan is so beautiful and love the mix of korean and Japanese history despite the war. Super interesting âșïž
love how you incorporate historical information into your vlogs! love the aesthetics and clarity of your videos, keep going! xx
thanks so much!!
These little daytrip videos are always so inspiring to watch, canât thank you enough for these vlogs đđœ Interesting to see how all the old buildings have been preserved
I also love that no matter how far you go away from Seoul, thereâs always an entourage of aesthetic cafes to go relax in đ
lol i feel like its a requirement to be a city in korea: must have a minimum of 1 aesthetic cafe hahah and thank you for always being there for my adventures :)
I love this Cari!!!
Love the short histry lessons you make in your vlogs
this was so beautiful and eye opening , thank youuuu :)))
This video is so pretty! I like watching your videos when I want to wind down for the day.
I was stationed at kunsan Air Base in the 70s.
I love to see how much is changed in almost 50 years.
And the list of places to go is increasing but i love it. Thanks you so much for show us places out of city that looks amazing!
Havenât been back to Korea nearly 30 years. Very informative and well presented. Thank you.
Hola!!! Me gusta ver tus vĂdeos, aprender un poco antes de ir a visitar, me gusta como lo explicas cada detalle... Saludos desde Rosarito BC MĂ©xico đ
graciaaaaaas~~
Thanks for taking us on this trip! Loved the history lesson too đ

Your videos make me feel trilling.I am in love with u and your content đ Youâre the only person/youtuber that make me trillđ
Jaejoon on your busâ€ïž another wonderful vlog, beautiful scenery & very informative. Thank you, Cari!
i could watch him for hours LOL
@@caricakes i'm surprised he can get on a tv show tbh, but yeay đ
Thanks for taking us along! đ
thanks for joining!
ahh i'm not sure how i missed this vlog back when you posted it like a year ago but seeing this gives me so much nostalgia - i lived in a town close to gunsan from summer 2017 to summer 2018 and seeing just common places like the bus terminal and the retro traintrack street feels so cool knowing how many times i have been in that exact same place! now i need to go back and visit these other places you went!
also RELATABLE with almost missing the bus being at the wrong terminal - I did that in Cheongju about a year ago IN THE RAIN but luckily they're like, also across the street from one another, and i BARELY made it
Super cute and interesting video! Love that you're always exploring different areas of Korea.
thank you for joining me!!
Good thing I stayed up :D I can finally watch this as it got uploaded ^^ love from Serbiaâ„ïž
yeeee thank you!!! have a good night's sleep~

wow i just love the variety in all the cafes you end up finding!! i could never get bored with cafe hopping in korea omg
korea is filled with these gems its crazy!
Once again, i travel with you and it was so fun and i enjoy the images so much đ i never go in Korea but today with you, i learn a few thing about this country and about the history of Gunsan too so i'm really happy so thank you again and again and see you soon đđđ°đ·
beautiful video as always, i really loved it!
thank you!
I haven't said much on your videos recently because I've been very unwell with the flu and an infection but I really enjoy your travel vlogs. I will get to Korea eventually and can't wait to check out all the places you've shared!
When someone is sleepy but the video notif effect was stronger than caffeine. Hurray to another lovely video! đŒ
gah!!! thank you!! and then have a good sleep hahaha
Very beautiful aesthetic place!!!! wow!
Thank you for sharing!
Quoting my biochem teacher "internet is very good if you use it for the right things, like with CZcams, we can get to know about so many places that we probably didn't even imagine existed or that we want to know but we can't go to[...]" thanks for taking us with you to such interesting places â€
Beautiful vlogg .. thank you cari xx đ đ
Every time you upload a something I just stop what I am doing and to watch your fantastic videos â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
thank you so so much!
Am jealous of all your travelling!
I need to get out of Seoul more!
Love the history background in this vlog, thanks Cari! As always wanderlust triggered and activated aarrghh
The to do and see list is becoming long :)

thank youuu!
Really made my day...all the breezy wind & hestoric place đ
^^~
I love when something surprises you, in a good way, like the museum đđ» or like all your vlogs, haha đ
i was sooo pleasantly surprised hahahaa
I love those rest stops in Korea and those long distance buses are pretty comfortable too!
ok, after 3 minutes I added this destination to my "places to see in Korea" list haha :)
I love the fact that you note the similarities between Irish and Korean history.
I've noticed a few cultural and historical similarities already but I really don't know much about Korean history yet.
There are so many cultural points that make the Korean and Irish so close. I find this quite fascinating, as an Irish citizen in love with Korea.
I lived there for a year while in the military. Thanks for the content that spawned a ton of memories :)
Amazing video of Gunsan!
đđđ
Making sure I watch your videos to complete my duty as a viewer even when Iâm on a road trip. I really hope my mobile data works with me
omg!! have fun on your trip too^^
cari cakes my mobile data and service cut out as I was watching so now 12 hours later I am finishing your video
Gunsan is a beautiful city full of culture and history. This is a beautiful city to explore. :)
Thank you for this! Iâm currently building my itinerary for my trip to Korea in October and this was really helpful, will definitely plan a day trip as I love learning all aspects of Korean history. And I would love if you would take us on more day trip vlogs âșïž
check out my 'outside of seoul' playlist for some more inspo! I hope your trip is fab!
cari cakes Thank you! Will definitely check it out
i can't get over how well you manage to capture the beauty of every place you visit! adore your videos.
thank you so much!
wow i really need that black sesame pound cake in my life right now *~*
ugh you and me BOTH! haha
Enjoyed your video a lot! No wonder Gunsan had a lot of japanese style houses! I've been there once with my ex but he didn't really tell me about the backstory, took me to one famous japanese house and just said 'everybody goes there because it's famous'. But at that time we visited it was closed and on top of that it was pouring rain in Gunsan :/ should go again sometime when I go back to Korea when the weather is nice for really to explore the neighborhood.

First of all, you're so pretty. And this day trip to a place in South Korea that is not so touristic (I guess) is really interesting and so soothing to watch. I love seeing those historical places. Next time can you tell us about the details of your trip, like bus fares, what kind of bus, how long do you have to walk to get to your destination (from the bust station) and smt like that?
oh my word that cafe from the beginning was stunnninggg!! I hope to one day be able to see all these places too :) sending love!
i hope you get to too! thank you^^
Itâs a funny, pretty video!!
Iâll come see you again đ
I loved your outfit for this vlog, especially the blouse!
thank you!! but now i have a weird tan line from my sunburn hahahaha
Loved this videoâs vibes so much, your vlogs make me wanna go back to Korea so bad! đ« Am planning to go to Japan this year though so that should be close enough đ
Such a lovely vid as always đ»
thank you!!đ©
@@caricakes omg ty for answering my first time been a followers for a while đžđ
Ahh Iâve been living in Gunsan for a year and this video just made me want to explore to places I didnât even know we had :o
I was stationed at Kunsan AB in the early 2000s. I loved the city due to its historical significance. Plus, if you showed interest in the local heritage, the people there were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Suggestion: there is a train that runs from Seoul Central station to Seocheon just across the River from Kunsan- it took about 3 1/2 hours, but seemed to be a better way to see the countryside compared to being in a traffic jam on MSR-1. Loved the people, loved the food, and love the country.
Wow Cari...ê”°ì°? đ You are so different from any foreign youtubers in Korean! You are easily the best â„ïž I love your videos so so much and hope more Korean people to watch them đđ» Thanks a lot for this beautiful video!
thank you so much!! i hope it inspires more people to explore korea :)
im so in love with your videos wow đ
thank you so much!
