- QUICK VIDEO about how to hook up the cords for the Nintendo Switch to the television, including the HDMI cord and the power cord. Once those are plugged into the docking station, the remotes need to be slid onto the screen, and the unit dropped into the docking station. I also go over how to select the HDMI inputs using the remote control (Source button, Input button, directional arrows).

I made a BETTER version of this video: czcams.com/video/9kigdbnYP0I/video.html
I love u ❤ thx bro
Why are so many people pissed at this guy for making a video that others (like me) would need, but not them? They’re saying shit as if it was a useless video, when a ton of people don’t understand how to do this, and this can help significantly. The point is, don’t watch it if you don’t need it, and don’t insult them because you watched this even though you didn’t need to. I personally thought it was very helpful and I give it a like.
Not to mention that hes one of those people that you can understand very clearly he goes step-by-step shows you the photos and very thorough,so yeah I agree! If you don't like the video then go somewhere else....DAMN! HATTERS gotta HATE.
GROW UP! NOT ONLY TOO STOP "SOME" OF YOU FROM SOUNDING LIKE AN IGNORANT A$$ BUT FOR YOUR DIGNITY AS WELL AS YOUR UNWILLINGNESS OR LACKING TOO UNDERSTAND WITH OTHER PEOPLE & OR ANIMALS.THANKS.
Sweet dreams😴&
a good day 😁to you.
@@HowToX Thank you for such a helpful video. I suck at HDMI stuff so this helped lol
Thank you I for one appreciate his step by step tutorial. I just recently bought my kid a Nintendo and I have absolutely no idea about any type of gaming station or how to go about setting it up.
Thank you for helping me. I'm so bad at HDMI
FYI, those types of comments only appeared the first month or so. The video eventually found its proper audience. Also note, I made a better version of the video: czcams.com/video/9kigdbnYP0I/video.html
To those of you who wrote rude comments here: Why? Why did you go out of your way to write a comment on a video that was not even meant for you? This video is meant for brand new Nintendo Switch owners of the first version of the Nintendo Switch, especially those who purchased the console from Ebay; the fact that you wasted your time and the Channel owner's time shows me that you have nothing better to do other than to make fun of something that you should not even be worrying about; I mean wow, makes me wonder what kind of person you are outside of the internet, to be honest.
Idk i got bored
Very helpful as a non switch owner but as the resident "computers guy" for my friends and family. Was able to help setup a friends switch remotely with this video.
Cool. Glad it helped.
Thanks for the short to the point set up video. My dock was a little different but your video helped me get the cords in without damaging it. Thanks.
Thank you for just getting straight to the point and showing the steps clearly, I needed this :)
Thank you so much for this! I found out I have too many cords plugged in so I’ll have to make some room for my power cord. Once I make room, I’ll watch this again and enjoy playing on the big screen. Thanks again!
I am looking at the CZcams video recommendations, and guess what, other channels have made similar videos to this one, yet those videos are old, long and are not short and to the point; this video is short, to the point and is excellent for a reference guide.
THANK YOU!! I bought a refurbished one (since it's 2023 I figured I'd save some money since the console cane out quite a while ago)....it came in fantastic condition but had absolutely zero instruction manuals. The switch itself is pretty user friendly but I keep hearing horror stories of scratching screens in the dock so this video was straight to the point and what I needed.
I genuinely needed to know if this was possible. Well made video and highly intuitive
Thank you for this! While I've not checked Nintendo's support website, your video came up first when I looked for help on how to dock the Switch. After my days with the SNES, I moved over to PlayStation, which is a lot more straight-forward (since it's just wires that all consoles have and your controller. I don't have any additional peripherals). So, the Switch has been a new learning process, lol.
Im a 40 year old veteran in Nintendo. I was connecting the 8-bit console at the age of 6 without a problem. Imagin how stupid i felt i need to look up a video to get informed i could open the docking station 😂😅 thanks man ... Im old
This video was so helpful! Thanks for making a straight to the point video so that I can play Super Mario Party with my family! x
Glad it helped!
Agree 👍
Thank you 🙏🏻 😊 you helped my seven year old and I set up his switch super fast
Thank you so much non of the other videos we’re helping. It’s set up on my tv & I’m playing tears of the kingdom now! Keep up great work buddy.
Thank you for making this video!! You answered my question within seconds. I haven’t used my switch with a tv in years so not remembering how to connect it was a struggle until I found this video! Thank you!!
Thanks for this! I was so bewildered by all the parts on my nephew’s Switch, this made it easy.
I had no idea I needed the AC adapter plugged in to make it work, that you for making it click in my head!! Your video was really helpful
Same here! Thanks!
Same! Now I'm like "Duh!" 🤦🏾♀️
Same!
Thank you so much I didn’t know how to connect it but you saved my life thanks I really appreciate it!!
Thank you, i kinda knew the process but i was missing steps and i was wondering why it wouldnt work but thank you for explaining the full process😊🥰
This was so helpful and easy! Thank you!
Thank you the other video I watched wasn't as in depth as this one was thanks!
Excellent video; Keep up the good work
I appreciate that the video is straight to the point. Thanks!
OMG, thank you so much. I’ve been trying to connect my Nintendo switch to my TV for the past year and a half, but I kept on failing and I eventually gave up. So thank you so much.
Thanks man, was obvious in hindsight but appreciate the clear instructions!
Thanks so much for the tutorial, once i plugged in my hdmi cords, i figured it out myself. Still though, this tutorial put on the right direction. Thanks man!
This video was so helpful
Thx, it was helpful since I don’t have tv at home but I sometimes take my Nintendo to the office where we have game room so thanks to this video I know how to plug the Nintendo to the tv 👌
Very helpful. Simple. But great.
I hardly ever comment but this video was a perfect explanation to hook up my sons switch. I clicked on a couple other videos before this one and they were shite!
this is the most understandable video of all time
Thank you so much! I wanted to do just as a work for a half an hour! This helped so much!
Thanks for this video! I didnt have the ac adapter plugged into Switch, although the Switch was fully charged.
Thank you it was helpful because I got a switch for Christmas
Thank you so much for this video! From a non-techy mom trying to play with her son. ❤

Why are people being rude here? I got a switch as a gift and genuinely didn't know you could even do this, so this vid was super helpful.
Omg thank you so beyond much !! I was always dependent upon my boyfriend to do it , I’m so happy I managed to finally do it myself !! This was very useful to me

Very helpful thank you bro ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
Thank you for helping me
Great video it , connected in no time 👍🐸
thank you! i’m a smart computer geek and i still needed this video to make sure i had the correct cords before going on a trip, since i never use this feature and there are multiple port options on the switch.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH
Amazing video thank you
OMG thank you ❤❤❤❤
Thank u for the help!
I watched this and my brain does not comprehend 😀
I have 2 Hdmi outputs on my TV the first hdmi output says DVI and the second hdmi output just says HDMI 2 where should I plug it? Also ty for the tutorial.
I don't think the DVI port will let you plug the HDMI into it. Go with the HDMI 2 one. You can actually use any HDMI port, but usually the lower numbered ones have more features. Good luck.
@@HowToX ty bro your amazing
Thank you
Thank you 👍
I didnt have any unoccupied Hdmi ports so i was unable to do this but thank u anyways!! ❤❤
Thank you for making this video, my dumb brain really need this after thinking (why tf I never think of it?! ) lol
Thank you❤
Thanks this helped alor
Now wheat about the controller? What do you use to actually game of its connected to the dock?
Thank you for this😭🙏 im HAPPT u sent straight to the point but still gave enough details!!! I needed this cuz I’m changing from the switch lite that can’t connect to a tv to the switch!!! Thx once again🫡🫶
Thank you do much
Lmfao, my parents got my son a switch and I thought we had to use some special cord that didn’t come with it. Didn’t know it opened up like that
It’s so easy to do it
Does it work on smart tvs good vid though man!❤
One of the reasons why I have waitied on purchasing this exact model of a Nintendo Switch is because certain games that I would want to play on it have yet to be ported to it; that includes gamew like Fallout 4, Soul Hackers 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles X; you may suggest to put Linux on it and some Homebrew on it; well, I am too lazy to try to do that; I just want to be able to purchase either a cartridge or a digital version from the eShop of those three games; the biggest issue I have with the Nintendo Switch is how it runs certain games at 30 frames per second or worse, with noticeable dips in frame rate; so yeah, I am going to wait patiently on getting a Nintendo Switch; and when I do, this video will be a great refresher.
Be on the lookout for an improved model too. There are a lot of rumors going around. There may even be a Switch 2.
I hope u know u helped me thank u

I have yet to come across any rude comments but apparently there are some which is just pathetic CZcams is brilliant for tutorials let the people who need this use it and if you don’t need it leave it why be a dick when it’s helping people
Yeah, there were a few, mostly around the time when the video first launched. The thing is that CZcams moves negative comments down toward the bottom, so they are long buried.
Thank you for the steps when I first gotten my intendo I found this video :)but my dad said well do it tomorrow and tomorrow I said when will me do it and HD said"after all the other things to do ok margaret" and I said
" ok soo what do we do first?" And he said all the things that we needed to do:buy the poopoo seat cleaner, buy the ingredients for the Philippino spaghetti and bread for my yumyum sandwich ;)
So my Nintendo switch is brand new, just tried setting up the dock in order and it won’t work. The dock does in fact charge the switch and the hdmi does work I even plugged it into my ps4 to see if it was the hdmi or not and the ps4 showed up just fine. No signal at all I get a indicator that my switch is charging when it’s seated and it automatically turns on when I take it off the dock. I have absolutely no idea what to do.
👋HEY! 👉HEADS UP! He's one of those people that you can understand very clearly he goes step-by-step shows you the photos and very thorough,so yeah I agree! If you don't like the video then go somewhere else....DAMN! HATTERS gotta HATE.

Does this work on the Apple TV as well?
(Please answer me if you know or dont know how to fix this)
Now, i do what i all need to do. I put the switch in the Dock, and literally nothing happens at all. The screen is still on the switch nothing pops up, the switch doesnt even get charged and it doesnt count as i put it in the dock! What am i suppose to do?
I made a video about how to fix the issue. czcams.com/video/dzpwc33HyPg/video.html
@@HowToX alr, i’ll check it soon. Thank you i’ll tell you if nothing works or maybe i wont idk
Thanks bud Zelda is finally out and forgot how to do this. Feel dumb now haha
Yeah, I'm getting a bump in traffic to this video today; most likely because of Zelda.
THANK UUUUU
the olug that goes to the ac adapter where does that go?
i did everything in this video, but when i go to turn on the Switch, it just turns on the screen while its docked. the tv shows a no signal. ive checked all the cables, the hdmi screens on my tv, i dont know what else it could be
edit: im so stupid my extension cord wasn’t plugged in
Ty
Wait so how many cables does this need cause my switch is not connecting because i think i only have 1 cable
Love you long time
Remember me? You’re right I’m leaving a sub
I was attempting to do this myself yesterday... lost two fingers now and I think I'm paralyzed.
instructions unclear, now I'm the dock.
Honestly it's a how to stupid guide and shit helped me lol
I looked it up (this video) because I wasn't sure if a Switch was even compatible with TV. I thought maybe it was handheld only with the little screen.
At this time there are three models. One is called Switch Lite, and it does not work on the TV.
