- I knew I've always wanted to have a smokebush somewhere in the garden, and I finally have the right spot! I also have some other perennials that were on my to-do list to move. The gardens are really starting to take shape, and I cannot wait to see how everything starts to fill in next season!

For a small blooming deciduous tree, I would like to suggest a Kousa Dogwood.
You definitely can't go wrong with a redbud! Ivory silk japanese lilac is a small tree that blooms later in spring, is very fragrant, and is something different. I planted one in my front yard a few years ago and I really like it.
I'm glad you moved those sedums to give them, and the bananas, more room to grow and get to. Love the smoke bush! What about a Crabapple tree? They're the perfect size, beautiful flowers in the spring, wonderful berries in the fall for the birds, and they come in so many colors and varieties. Or a Redbud, like "Forest Pansy," which would give you a nice repeat of the purple leaf colors you're using and plan to use in your garden? Everything looks great and we definitely need a garden tour! 🙂
I recorded a garden tour this morning so it will be going out soon!!! And I am leaning towards a redbud right now, so we shall see!
Redbud! Was the one we liked in Matthew’s garden the rising sun redbud? I keep mixing up rising sun and flamethrower.
I was thinking of a redbud, that would be nice! I also do not remember Matthew’s garden haha. I like the flame thrower though!
@@JoshuasGarden I think his handle is the southerners northern garden? I always mix it up.
