    Before watching your videos I bought a Sansi 15W and it has been noticeably better than some random others I tried. I hope it is more like the 10w than the 24w. Thinking about getting a larger light, so thank you for such thorough videos! Going to try the GE for my bigger area.

      @@avgrim7729- I knew they had a 40w but that bulb would fry my plants. It’s only better if you need a bigger one! I was using a reading lamp for two plants, so it was close and I needed a smaller one. I bought the GE for a different location and I wish I had gotten a smaller second bulb instead. Of course if you are doing a larger are or your bulb is further away then yes, the bigger one is better, you are correct.

    The reason they still use watts is for people, like me, who don't understand a lot about grow lights. Using a comparison with or reference to watts helps me to understand what I am getting. I have bought grow bulbs and had to send them back because the color is completely off for not just my aesthetic, but can trigger or amp up a migraine. So, this is why I think Kelvins or color should be addressed more on packaging. The warmer, more yellow, incandescent look is what most people like and feel comfortabke with.

    I have a few questions , which I hope the channel , or someone who has some knowledge about grow lamps , could answer for me .
    I'm currently storing around 20 small chilli plants , tomato plants on a ledge in my boat .
    I haven't got a great deal of space here , so wanted to use a single light to help the plants get some much needed light during the dark days of March \ April .
    My current desk light has a smaller Edison fitting , which I believe is E14 . I've seen a few cheap options to get a bulb for this as a grow light , but is it worth it ? Are there better options ? Would t be worth me getting another light to accommodate another type of more suited bulb ? If so which bulb ? And what are the risks of using a grow bulb in a normal light ?
    I know , multiple questions , but the more I watch\ try to learn , the more questions that seem to get thrown up . I thought 🤔, how hard can t be to buy a bulb 😂.
    Any solid advice much appreciated . I'm UK based .

    Either your readings (ex. your meter) are defective or you had a defective 24W Sansi.. I’m wondering if you received the BR30 bulb which is really just more for general home recessed lighting applications while the PAR30 is Sansi’s actual Grow Light version. They look about identical. I actually just ordered from Amazon what’s listed as the PAR30 Grow Light but now that it’s about to be delivered I see further down the page they have the part/model number listed as BR30.. If that’s the case their selling the more basic Sansi lights as grow lights and I’ll be scolding them when I return it.

    Hey there. I have a Meyer lemon tree that I keep inside all year. It’s in a south-southwest facing window but I use the soltech aspect pendant light that was suggested to me by the company and also via citrus. Would that be enough light for the tree to be happy? It is blooming and fruiting. I was just wondering about light because I’ve also been told that it’s not enough light. I was also recommended the groplanner 100 watt on Amazon.

    • @GetUrbanLeaf
      @GetUrbanLeaf  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Kyle, hard to say without seeing your tree, but it sounds like everything is going well if it's blooming and fruiting. Especially if you have the tree in a southerly facing window, you should be all good. The rule for Meyer lemon trees is 6-8 hours of solid sunlight.

    Dang, so I’m debating on buying the Haus Bright Smart bulb (just came out). It has cool and warm spectrum option that you can change, dimmers and timers that can all be controlled through the an app on my phone. Now I’m unsure if I should get it based on you’re feedback. They bulbs are 50 ea on Amazon and they would save me a lot of money and hiring a electrician. Plus I haven’t found any bright bulbs that have all the features this one does. Do you think it would be a bad purchase? I really would appreciate your feedback and wisdom on this. I’m using it for my indoor house plants that are mostly philodendron. They would all be going in a track lighting set up that would sit about 3-5 ft below my plants.

      Hi Olive, we've not checked out the Smart version, but from what I can see it looks like the same as the 'Dumb' version just with smarts added(?) If you like this functionality, why not just add an inline smart timer/switch like here: czcams.com/video/fCKElIbmR60/video.html
      Thes Haus bright ones have crummy (no) optics and seem very expensive on a $/PPF basis to me.
