This is actually a direct parody of an episode of Geraldo's "good night america" from 1974 that featured Hugh Hefner and a tour of the playboy mansion.
America should have said "good night and good riddance" to "Jerry Rivers" decades ago.
Bobby Bittman , the great humanitarian.
I'd like to personally thank Mr Eugene Levy for gently letting us know: if you ever meet anybody like Bobby Bittman … run!
Johnny LaRue and Bobby Bittman; the personification of class.
That was the golden era of show biz right there, folks.
You got that right.
We all know Bittman is a jerk
How could you have that much talent in one room?
They don't make em like that anymore.
@Rob Simpson My man
I’ve been watching nonstop SCTV videos today for the last four hours. I have to stop or I’m going to vomit from laughter. This has to be the last one. Please help me. Make this the last one.😂 😂😂
"He's a big, big man getting bigger all the time"..LOL...Love those backhanded compliments!
John was 1of the funniest comedians I've ever had the pleasure of watching, we all lost 1 of the all time greats when he passed. R.I.P John
Heraldo Rivera falls to his death from the 95th floor and Johnny doesn't even blink...
Andrea Martin is a gem.
Earl Camembert disliked this video... twice.
Johnny Larue, the Hugh Hefner of SCTV, hehehehehheh
Ya sure it's Hugh Hefner and not Harvey Weinstein?
Spot on parody of Hugh Hefner's TV shows. Playboy founder Hugh Hefner (for you young folks) had a number of them. He had women working for him, at home and in his "Playboy Clubs," called "Bunnies" who wore bunny ears and tails. He smoked a pipe. He was famous for his glamorouse life style and his many women and his Penthouse and Mansion that were so luxuriouse that he almost never left them, but all the celebreties came over to visit him. And he did, famously, have a round bed.
still better than anything on TV today....
*Seeing the genius Harold Ramis in an SCTV sketch is MARVY!!*
🖖❤
I was shocked to see he was on SCTV when I watched reruns on Nick at Nite.
@@sralyn
*Yep, in the VERY beginning, he's Moe Green, SCTV's Station Manager [SM].*
*But then Moe's kidnapped by the Leutonian Liberation Front.*
*So SCTV owner Guy Caballero promotes Edith Prickley to SM to replace him.*
🖖🏻❤️
@2:30 Harold Ramis is groping John Candy, it's too funny! This is an awesome skit! Heraldo Rivera, lol. I wonder if Geraldo laughed at this? I am! Johnny LaRue's bed, omg so funny!
"....Della and Pee Wee Reese..." ---- Priceless!😛🤑
I love it when LaRue introduces his girlfriend Trish Nutley (2:10)-as his "current piece"---can you imagine the Women's Lib movement would have gone after him with "both guns blazing" LOL
Yes,in today's #MeToo climate, this would never air.Even as the great parody that it is.We can't let the world lose it's sense of humor.
Women's lib movement was already in full swing.
I'll say this for Canada. Those women are gorgeous!
I'll say this for Canada, kids in the hall and this masterpiece, not to mention Gordy Lightfoot with or without the thunderbolt
So good! These long cuts are amazing!
Has anyone noticed that you never see Bobby and Earl in the same room? These guys were at the same party!
"what do you mean it's a bad day?" so good
The Miss Liberated Nude Women's Contest? That's insane.
How could anyone thumb this down???
Loni Anderson is one of the gerbils! Awesome!
No, she's not.
no--the blonde is a Canadian actress named Linda Rennhofer
Interesting, a look alike for Loni.
@@bufnyfan1 So, she is! I found a photo and she looks pretty close. I hight Loni was a little too "Big time" at this point in her career to not have a big role (like JLaR's girlfriend) in this sketch.
Harold Ramis of Ghost Busters
Sweet fancy Moses
Geraldo's first show was 'Good Night America' back in the seventies on ABC.
Yes,we know
The Australian Broadcasting Company?
Gerbils
I really need to get myself a Bobby Bittman Tee.
Why not get some Bobby Bittman dentures, instead?
Sure do miss SCTV! (both Edmonton and Toronto!) NBC did them no justice!
Della and Pee Wee Reese. Kills me every time
Why would Johnny LaRue invite Earl Canambert to his party (LOL!!)--Earl must have "crashed" it--I can't imagine him inviting him---then again he did have Earl run his election campaign a few years later for city councilor (even though he got "clobbered)
Shrewd comment. Can only come from a connoisseur of SCTV. Perhaps since Johnny was very much into giving to charitable organizations he invited his SCTV colleague out of the goodness of his heart ;-)
Dane Clark with Lulu? Della and Peewee Reese?
Connie Franklin...still not as depressing a singer as Connie Francis...but damn close!
1:27 LOL
Back when tv was worth watching
is that lonnie anderson in the background ?
Hey that is Sherry Miller at 1:51, the Spumante Bambino woman. Really looks like Loni Anderson too at 1:50 but it can't be, can it?
That's Loni, all right!
God was she sexy back then!! I like how she laughs at 7:28
No--it was a Canadian actress/model named Linda Rennhofer
Brian Battles That's not Loni.
Thought I saw Teri Garr too!!!!
Whoa, this one has no laugh track, and it is awesome!! Was the terrible laugh track added when SCTV moved to NBC?
@Anthony Arguien If you need a laugh track to clue you in when to laugh then you got some problems.
@Anthony Arguien You have a limited vocabulary and intelligence.
@@kekwayblaze3176 omigod, how obtuse are you?
Brilliant!
You can't fire me, I quit!
Is that Mary Margaret O'Hara at 0:16?
I really wish we could say goodbye to the United States of America, forever. What a giant lead anchor it's been on the world.
is that Lonnie Anderson as one of Johnny's Gerbils?
No, it's Lennie Anderson. No relation.
No, it's Lonnie Sanderson
Did anyone catch the James Coburn look-a-like they had passing by around 5:51?
The blonde bunny looks like Loni Anderson.
5:35-5:40 The girl with the bunny ears. She was not impressed and i don't think it was part of the show. Looked like shoved the phone into her and pushed her aside to get through.
Let me guess - Johnny LaRue is our current president? You're fired!
I've got Donezens of friends and the funever ends that i$ as long as I'm bi-and...oh gob I just paraphrased Styx...that will NEVER happen again...but light up everybody and spark that bowl whilst you're at it
Johnny Larue is actually Donald trump of the 80's
LaRue would make for a great cabinet member in Trump's America.
Press secretary
Thank goodness that dumpster fire is going to prison soon.
Why do I feel so odd and awkward after watching this ?
Johnny LaRue was Trumps hero.
f i t e e n secs. or whatever I want you I want you I want you but not nowadaysobad
Donald Trump = Johnny LaRue + Joseph Stalin
Well said!
I'd say he's closer to LaRue + Mussolini. But yeah.
Liberals ruin everything
@@MrMavis59 Well, Donnie Dorko did get executed and hollowed out. And hopefully he'll be headed to prison very soon along with Uncle Joe Biden Boy.
