No worries Jake, youâll find your path to success on the platform. The good thing is that you tried out the game and noticed early on that it isnât for you.
Jake, it was fun while it lasted......just find the next thing..and some of us will follow you on the next journey...
I got into it hardcore for an min and recently realized how much I overspent to hit SUBâs and stack points. I never carried a balance but I still purchased crap I truly didnât need. I ended up keeping two cards. One for the travel perks/insurances/credits etc and one that has 2x minimum. closed everything else. I already own my home so the dip in my credit score will bounce back. I was happy to just simplify everything again. Good luck with your channel and wherever it will take you. Love your personality so you will entertain on this channel whatever route you may take
Whatâs up my dude!!! I am actually burnt out . I have obtained 21 credit cards over the years , but closed 11 and currently 10 open. I wonât be applying for no cards this year gardening and taking a break.
A âbreakâ? Not sure I believe u. Had u said (try to) quit, maybe. Ur break will be 6 mos. Tops.
@@newagain9964 My last Credit Application was October 2023 have not applied for any cards this year and won't either.
Keeping track of all these cards is getting annoying
Iâm here for it đđŒ
Refreshing! Iâll be staying subscribed.
I felt the same during 2020. So many cards were adding monthly perks or temporary benefits I did not apply for any new cards
i know what you mean man. i can feel you. goodluck man. i know you are not 100% dropping the game. coz once someone get the hang of it, it is hard not to do it.
Iâll tell you how it happened. Are you using any of those apps that automatically activate all of your offers/rewards on your cards? Did you give them your credentials to your Chase account and other accounts so they could get access to do this? They didnât use Plaid or Fincity did they? Are you seeing where this is going? Also, as a CC CZcamsr, how do you not have your credit reports frozen at all three bureaus already? That hard pull never should have gone through. Go do that immediately!
Had all of them except Experian frozen for a recent Ink application that was denied. Forgot to unfreeze.
@@jakemercure Had a "cash advance" charged to me on my personal Marriott credit card at the Cairo airport last year. - they dropped it right away as I did not do this and never had a cash advance in my life - the trouble was I had to get a new number and change some of the automatic withdraws.
This is so true, so many leaks in the CC industry and online shopping platforms it is a wonder there isn't more fraud. I recently had an Experian pull for credit I didn't apply for and thankfully Chase stopped the card, and I then froze all my reports.
Ive finished my setup. Aaa visa for groceries, savor one for dining and entertainment, bce for online purchases and gas, quicksilver for everything else. Its not completely optimized, but its all no af and it covers my biggest categories. If i get another one itd be a travel card, but thats in the future and for now im chillin
Just from the title YES I got tired of it a couple years ago. I simplified my strat and started living life
I got 8 more years of no annual fees till i retire from the military and ill also b done with the game. These cards arenât worth it.
Churning is annoying. And time consuming to (optimally) redeem. At about almost 12 mos in my 18-24 mo plan and already feeling spent. đ
The game never gets tired; only the players....... 2 years in and I haven't even gotten started yet! đđđ Cheers to the CC gamers who keep the game interesting!
Yeah man, you are right about this. I do feel like maybe it is a tough gig/hobby to maintain. Plus, the whole info being out there is a bit of a concern. I wonât be cancelling my current cards but it does give me some hesitation to applying for others. Thanks for sharing. You are wise beyond your years for being able to adapt to your situation. And yeah keep making videos about whatever. Do your thing, my good man.
Thanks for the video. I am sixty years old. For thirty five of those years I only had three credit cards. Now I have 17. I have.
No complaints it's worked out pretty good for me so far. Only one more card I want and then I am done applying
Agreed, time to set the game aside, go outside and have a balls out amazing summer đ
âœâŸđ„đđ out huh? What do us ladies have to do, to have an amazing summer?
That outro rhyme was fresh my guy
thanks boss, had to cut it there
You are right bro me too
not that far into credit cards and i feel this a bit. like you touched upon before i think the biggest drain is the high annual fee cards that take more to juggle. you get a bigger sign up bonus but way more draining. i still have some zero annual fee cards i want in my rotation but i think my higher annual fees will be more spread
Once you take that Emirates first class flight, you're going to change your mind REALL quick đ€Łđ€Ł Flying the A380 is definitely a bucket list of mine. I think what happens to some people in this space is that they get burned out for a while and then when they go on a vacation with an awesome redemption, they are rejuvenated. Similar to a novelist, they go on a writer's block and then they go on a vacation and get reinspired again. That's what I see when it comes to credit cards also. You'll be reinspired one day haha.
I am extremely excited as to where you will go in your youtube journey. plenty of credit card peeps out there but your "retention off" (wink wink haha kill me) is your relatable opinions and personality, so as long as that carries over to whatever you post in the future, we're along for the ride
I can't give up $6k in rewards per year, almost none of which is from the rewards directly on spending...
go for the 5-10% rewards gain bro I'm currently using the 10% grocery chase freedom flex for 1 month now still got like maybe 10k$ left you just need to get a card you know will spend like crazy category
i started thinking about the security aspect of having so many cards and thatâs why iâve slowed down
Iâve been in the game off and on from about 2010. You get bored of it, returns drop. I picked up the game again in 2017 and again around 2021. Itâs great because your credit ages, new product gets rolled out. Itâs ok to put it down and come back years later. Like you said interests change, life happens, credit cards will still be here when you get the itch again.
You can kick it with Dave Ramsey!
nope, just got my Amex platinum a few weeks ago doing a 175k SUB with $8k spend, Once I'm done with the platinum moving on to ink unlimited, BILT, US Bank Altitude Reserve and many more, When will I get tired of applying for cards don't know
You will get burned to bro trust me!
You'll burn out later, especially when dealing with all the coupons.
Life is about simplicity. I had over 13 credit cards until about 6 months ago when I just got tired of managing the spend on all of them and yes you DO subconsciously spend especially if there is a sub to meet. Now, I have 6 and looking to close one or two more. All my cards have a purpose and the ones that do not go bye bye. Good luck in your future endeavors!
I have 4 personal (boat load of biz) from the game. 2 are def keepers ,the others Amex green and VX may cancel.
Jake getting red-pilled. Welcome to the party pal!
How does this have anything to do with being red pilled đ
But ur not red pilled. Ur deeply invested/playing the game. And ur beyond the cc game.
itâs been so refreshing to see you evolve over time and become woke and escape the credit card matrix. to be honest youâve opened my eyes up to a lot of the same issues and feelings iâve felt as a credit card enthusiast. love to keep supporting your channel and see what you have next đ
Just like any hobby people are likely to get burnt out. Wish I joined sooner tbh.
False. A person doesnât get burned out on their hobbies. Sometimes may do break but u donât speak ill of it. Unlike cc game
Burnout is real. After several years of day trading, in 2021 I went 100% NVDA then started getting a new credit card every month. It's work, but this week I'm playing in the snow in Bariloche, Argentina, and flying from one resort spot to another on points and miles. Might burn out on credit card churning later this year.
if you can still get SUB, then it is still fun!
I'm in the lazy river of the CC game. Just letting it flow.
Youâll b back. đ
it repetitive you only need like 2-3 cards max
Youâre kinda right. I donât spend more than 400 - 1,000 a month hence my eligibility to meet up to a simple $200 signup bonus but I plan on getting my perfect cash back setup someone also recommended to me on Reddit and then Iâll be done with all my cards ( unless if a card needs a $5 every 6-12 months.. )
I think where Most ppl spend (to make PTS game worthwhile) are large purchases and traveling. If ur not doing much of either donât even bother with game.
its not for everyone.
nice
I havenât even been in it for nearly as long as yâall have and iâm already tired of itâŠ
Churner life is not for the weak đ
No just the Chase 5/24 is annoying
It will change when you start having children and a family bro!!!!!!!!! You want to simply everything
Nope. But I have 7 cards and that's all I need
