for the unaware: a gypsy cab or just a gypsy is new york slang for a cab thats not the classic yellow cab. it started with things like people in their personal cars roaming the parking lots at like jfk saying 20 bucks ill take you to manhattan. the term evolved into radio only cars and these days most people use gypsy as a word for cabs with tlc plates but not yellow cabs

He once said that he loved being on Law And Order because he was tried of moving around doing shows. Loved the fact that he could stay in one place and that he would stay on the show until he died. RIP, he kiss missed.

I was like that too. When I started binge-watching the OG series, I ended up liking it more than SVU
The original series is my favorite, so I'm biased, but I don't think you'd be disappointed.

I agree with the others, the OG series was the best. I started watching during the first season. The characters and dialogue are top notch. And the quality of these remastered clips on YT is outstanding.
I think you’ll come to like the OG series better. It usually lacks SVU’s melodrama and the police work is more realistic, warts and all.

Pfff. Munch is king. The character actually predates OG Law and Order and was on Homicide: Life on the Street from 1993 - 1998 and THEN to Law and Order: SVU after that show was cancelled - the character moving from Baltimore PD to New York PD. The actor played the same character in a total of ten series on five networks since the character's debut in 1993. He was in an episode of X-files, The Wire, The Beat, regular Law and Order as well as Law and Order: Trial By Jury, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Sesame Street (as a muppet and still voiced by the actor), and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
@@garrettmobley1181 yuuup! Richard belzer was the best!! I think one of my favorite Munch moments was when he’d answer the phone, “Ho-Ho-Ho-Homicide!” for the holidays. Most don’t even know this. Homicide life on the streets also featured what’s-his-face from Chicago PD, although as a different character within the same universe.

Oh another fun fact; Homicide Life on the street was based on the same real life events as The Wire. Involving a journalist who shadowed the Baltimore homicide detectives over the course of a year, or something, that resulted in a book. Said events led to Homicide Life on the street, then The Wire.

Plus, both Southerlyn & Rubirosa were around much longer. Even Carmichael, too. All of whom easily outshining ‘Kin-who?’
The only impactful, memorable mark she left was how she died, and even then, the same can be said of Borgia, too.
So at best, she’s really just, “one of those ADA’s that got killed off,” or, at worst, “the really young one that might have slept with her much older boss, McCoy,” which is not something to write home about lol.
@@mar-shagazorpazorp6431 this is a fair opinion, I mentioned her as an initial female character alongside van buren and benson in their respective law and order series’, although, yes, I do believe compared to the other two who had much more time in the original law and order, she certainly is not as significant in that respect, if you’re going to cover all Ada’s, I’m surprised robinette or Ross get no mention

Not the first recast. Jerry Orbach played a defense attorney before he was a cop on this show.
S. Epatha Merkerson played a mother who lost her child in a shooting a few seasons before she took up a recurring role as the police captain you see in this episode.

The funniest one is Jeremy Sisto. He plays a defense attorney giving McCoy a hard time. The VERY NEXT episode, Sisto shows back up as Frank Lupo.

So the couple that finds the dead guy want a taxi, the guy says "At 2am?"..moments later the coroner says the guy was killed 4 hours tops, at about 2am....sooo...that means either continuity is wrong or it wasn't until 4am when the cops finally pulled up and started working...
Call the cops
Wait for them to get there.
Have them call in detectives, crime scene unit, block off the crime scene...
Crime scene was in the process of analyzing the car when the detectives asked...
So yeah, it was probably some time since the body was discovered...

Unregistered or unpermitted taxi. There's a drivers union that has a very strict contract in the city- gypsy cabs are not part of, or are driving outside of the rules of, the union contract.
