- "Limelight," the RUSH classic off of their 1981 album, "Moving Pictures." This is the final song from my 2019 RUSH drum cover series, recorded in August 2019.
For this series I thought it would be fun to mimic Neil’s setup as closely as I could with my Pearl Masterworks kit. It took a bit of practice to get used to the tom positions, but it was a blast to play Rush songs on the “Rush” kit. I tried to match the tunings as well. I had never tuned my toms that high before, but it made those cascading tom fills really sing!
I almost always find NP covers cringeworthy, but you did this justice. Love the drum tunings and cymbal choices. Nice job, Mike!

Among the most brilliant drum compositions in music history - played to perfection to render homage to The Great One! Thanks for sharing, keeping the spirit so alive, hope to see y'all live some day soon. And such a great lesson for total amateurs like me to see what I need to fix!

Mike, this is exceptional work. I can’t believe I’m just now seeing your vids! I am Jack’s musical envy! Your set is impeccable, everything is tuned perfectly! The only recommendation I can offer is a tighter or thinner snare to get that “pop!” Neil would get. But damn, I’m impressed. You’ve got some talent!!
