Hi Dave - I love psittacines and they make up my collection. Then I visited Butterfly World in Cocoa Beach, FL. I saw their Lady Gouldians and had to add 2 pairs to my flock. I love them! I’m all about taking the best care I can of my birds- I appreciate your channel, it helps me learn about how to take good care of my LG. Thank you - Happy holidays

I would LOVE to get a Parrot or 2, one day in the near future. There are so many different species to choose from, I'd be spolit for choice.
I was in Cocoa Beach in 2018 but didn't know they had a Butterfly World. I'd of visited there for sure. Gouldians are my absolute favourite Finches & I currently have 8 of them in my small flock. @@FinchManDave Parrots are awesome… and there are sooo many choices. But, as you can imagine, they aren’t allowed anywhere near my LG!

I'd imagine captive birds wouldn't know the difference, but the wild bird nests provided by humans often mimic what they'd choose by themselves
Hi Dave! I have a pair of zebra finches who are incubating eggs now. I was wondering how often can I expect this? Will you make videos on breeding or do you have any favorites you refer to? I'm also curious what you think of keeping finches with diamond doves..

I've never kept Zebras but I know they're prolific breeders, & if left to freely breed, they'll keep at it for as long as they're able to. Like any birds, they need certain things to breed healthily (lots of calcium in preperation, lots of protein when they have chicks etc) so its important they're 'ready' to breed before they're allowed to.
As I only keep males, I don't currently breed, but I will be making a video in the not to distant future on breeding tips.
Diamond Doves are beautiful birds! They get along in aviaries with Finches very well however, they can be easily spooked which can have a knock on effect with any finches that are skittish by nature, so you can imagine the mess that would cause. Males can become very highly strung in the presence of the same sex so a pair are best kept unless you have a huge aviary

My zebras have all those nutritional needs met, I guess I should start planning for bigger housing !

I found a tiny Gouldian finch which fell onto a car roof and bounced onto the pavement. I thought it was dead when I looked. I scooped it up and allowed it to rest. It woke up and I let it fly off. Did I do the right thing? im based in east London
Unfortunately, not. A Gouldian won't survive wild in the UK
Your comments on the sex of chicks is very interesting I always wondered why my flock produces markedly more Cocks than Hens .Time for a change in my breeding plan I think !!!
It's not as prevalent in domestic populations but is still completely possible. Let me know if there's any difference made by the changes Iain 😁👍🏼
