  • The Orenda Startup is an adaptation of a traditional startup, but with more urgency of getting calcium in the water. The sooner, the better!
    Simply adding Orenda SC-1000 and several pounds of calcium to the water as early as possible makes a huge difference. In this video, we will explain why and how you should perform the Orenda Startup method.

    Npt startup says to not start slowly rising calcium until day two once alk and ph are acidic. We just always ask the specific startup guide for the plaster to avoid any issues and log everything

      If it works without issues, that’s great news. Always log everything regardless of which method you use.

    Thank you Orenda for all the R&D. Is there an article somewhere that explains what chemically happens when chelating the calcium vs. not chelating it?

    • @OrendaTechnologies

      Thank you for watching! And yes, This article explains chelating in the FAQ section: procedures.orendatech.com/how-to-use-sc-1000

    Please explain how to use the sodium bicarbonate; how much sodium bicarbonate must be incorporated into the barrel? Does the same trickle amount of calcium apply here with sodium bicarbonate, and is SC-1000 & muriatic acid also added into the barrel with sodium bicarbonate?

    • @OrendaTechnologies
      @OrendaTechnologies  Před 22 dny

      Normally sodium bicarbonate is NOT added to the barrel, just calcium, acid and SC-1000 are. Bicarb is added separately using a clean bucket to pre-dissolve the bicarb and spread it around. Never put both calcium and bicarb together.

    first time to use orenda startup with stonescapes aqua cool.....used this on a pool in last march without Orenda Startup and the color refraction was a perfect blue....used Orenda Startup on most recent Aqua Cool plaster job...it is emerald green...customers are freaking out

      Email eric@orendatech.com with your tap water and current water chemistry. Could be an imbalance somewhere, or copper is in the water.

    Great video. Thanks. Why do we need to adjust the ph down? What’s wrong with 8.0 ph and a lower calcium level, as long as lsi is 0.2?

    • @OrendaTechnologies
      @OrendaTechnologies  Před rokem +1

      The challenge is keeping things dissolved over 8 pH, and you’ll want enough calcium to be a firm foundation for your chemistry year-round

    Hello. Thank you guys. I’ve been using your app and products fo about two months now. Was wondering when u light upload the startup with buckets. Also I can’t seem to find where to buy the Orenda barrel.

      Fredy, thank you! We will soon release our startup academy which includes the buckets. Email us at info@orendatech.com and we will help you get local support to get the barrel and whatever else you need. Thanks!

    Have you actually tested the flow rate of two hoses prior to connecting to the base vs the flow rate of the single hose leaving the base to the pool?

    How can I obtain your Start Up barrel?

    • @OrendaTechnologies
      @OrendaTechnologies  Před 22 dny

      Any pool wholesaler should be able to stock it. ORE-50-1030 is the part number. If you’re a homeowner, it’s probably not practical to have a startup barrel, but there could be pros near you who have one.

  • @universaldonor3100
    @universaldonor3100 Před 3 lety

    Quie a lot of missing information. If you have to put in 100# of Calcium do you put all of that in the startup barrel at one time? you can't fill up a 35,000 gallon pool with one water hose. If you have 3 hoses running do you tape them to the vac hose and keep the same amount of calcium treated water flowing at the same rate in the video?

    • @OrendaTechnologies
      @OrendaTechnologies  Před 3 lety

      We have put 150# of CaCl2 in the barrel at one time before. For larger commercial pools we don’t exceed 150# at a time, but continue to add more 50# bags over time. And yes there are many pools larger than 35,000 gal that are filled with a single hose. We hope not, but sometimes you have to work with what’s available at the house. To us, the faster the fill, the better.

      @@OrendaTechnologies can't we just call the Oredna Water Truck with perfectly balanced water to come out and fill the pool in an hour?

  • @universaldonor3100
    @universaldonor3100 Před 3 lety

    It is confusing to say in one part of the video that you will add bicarb after the pool is filled to adjust Alkalinity...and in another saying that you want the LSI to be .2-.5 .....that doesn't make sense.

    • @OrendaTechnologies
      @OrendaTechnologies  Před 3 lety

      Timing is important here. You cannot add calcium chloride and bicarb at the same time, and the SC-1000 buys you time to get alkalinity in the next day, or hours after the calcium is in the water.
