Where did the British arrive and where did East India set up first (Madras Presidency) This is where British raised the first regiment - Before British the only regiment is Nair Brigade - Kerala kings had own army. Nair Brigade everyone has to be 6 Foot Tall to be enlisted. The first war of Independence against British was by Marutthu brothers in Madras only. Long before british mutiny etc. Even The game of Snooker was invented in Madras RMC in Ooty by officers there

Odisha being 5-6th largest state both economically and population wise doesn't contribute much.A regiment should be raged there as well.

I know the officer who is from Madras Regiment in the video. He has very bold , clear and charming personality. I had interaction with him while preparing for my recent SSB & it was surprising to know that there were many other aspirants whom sir guided without any cost & helped them to clear their doubts. His name is Col Vinod Joshi sir and right now is posted as a unit commander of NCC in UP directorate. Thank you sir.

Col. Vinod Joshi is one of the hard task master type officer who belongs to the Madras regiment, I have been under his guidance during RDC 2022 for Best cadet competition and learned one thing about him that his competence is unmatchable and his Imandari, wafadari and zimedari towards his job and towards the task assigned to him is unbreakable and for the above I would like to give an example.
Somewhere during first week of December 2021 he was detailed by U.P ADG Maj Gen. Rakesh Rana to choose the best cadet for Uttar pradesh although Maj Gen. Himself had taken decision at that point of time but sent col Vinod Joshi to crosscheck and as soon as he came on the ground he literally converted that camp into nothing lesser then National Defense Academy for us , starting from the 5 am and until 11 pm straight he was with us and he not only judged and focused in one field but in each and every fieldhind, he kept a eagle on our firing,drill, phyc and every other thing and after his analysis he announced his judgement and you won't believe he selected me over ADG's choice of selection and that's what I meant when I said he is a man with guts and passion.

No there was bengal regiment but it was disbanded in 1920, all these regiments werent freedom fighters but british soldiers and their bootlickers at that time. The Bengal regiment started the sepoy mutiny as it then included bihar too after Mangal Pandey death who was part of regiment, as more and more ppl didn't want to join bengal regiment due to rising nationalism in bengal and swadeshi after the sepoy mutiny it was disbanded
