    Most of us here are beginners to intermediate and we have to make due with what we have. I'm sure if someone has the ability to hire a full crew of professionals and a budget of at least 100k then they probably already know what they want and need. So who exactly is this video for?

      @rws531 Před rokem +14

      If you have to work with what you already have, why would you watch a video on what to buy?

      Tips for reaching $100K in financing. 1) Have a good attitude. 2) Use your real legal name as your CZcams username (or) make your legal name really easy to find on your CZcams channel. 3) Post your film work on CZcams. 4) Get a job that has nothing to do with filmmaking that pays well, even if this means going to school for something that you’re not particularly interested in but you’re competent at that pays well. (e.g. not film school) 5) And most importantly, have a good attitude as everyone in filmmaking is facing financial, logistical, and personal challenges.

      @@shashankkumar2340 It is for marketing purposes if (emphasis on if) a person is looking for funding for their film projects. Or if they are a writer, director, actor, etc. looking for more client work. It is helpful if a person is building a brand to be searchable and findable on the internet so that people who want to work with them can get in contact with them. I hope this helps. 😊👍

      You would be surprised at how many people with budget from 30k-100k wanting to make short films or feature films have no idea where the money is well spent. Heck, so many of them end up blowing a good chunk of their budget on camera without even understanding what goes into deciding what camera to shoot on. Everybody wants red and arri. For a 100k budget movie, do you really need a red or arri.

    Renting is so much important than buying.
    Unless you are a trustfund kid the gear is extremly expensive. You can not put all your money into a tool and then find the job requires a different tool and survive in this busniess. Then you realize the tool you purchased has become obsolete. You are fucked.
    You can rent an Alexa today and a Sony Venace next week and still be able to buy groceries.
    Rent it.
    You want to buy something buy something that does not change quickly. A light meter and a cheap apps for your phone are 2 things you can afford and will use. If you do have money then perhaps Full Frame lens is the way to go. They will always be needed. Even then other lenses might be required for your project.

      lol same here, I only have and can afford that. And Meiki lenses. If Sean Baker taught us anything with 'Tangerine', it is that you can totally make do with microbudgets too. But get THE SOUND RIGHT at any cost, even if it means spending more money on hiring a dedicated sound professional. And of course, last but not the least, solid actors who can do actually good acting.
