Luke , as a portuguese and a fan of Benfica , its actually nice too know that Rui Costa , one of the biggest ícones of my club and today’s president , is one of your all times favorite. He is/was criminally underrated , he was phenomenal . And the fact that you also mentioned Óscar Cardozo , our biggest foreign goalscorer. He was a bit underrated too because he was a slow striker , but hey , the guy is 1.95m , its normal that he was that slow , but the thing is , he could score goals from anywhere with his left foot with some incredibly power shots , the guy was a beast

29:12 reus came through dortmund's academy before moving to bmg for gametime then returned again to dortmund so is probably most accurate to have him starting with dortmund
thats not really true. He was kicked out the dortmund´s academy in 2005 when was about 16 years old He went to a small club in the region called Rot-Weiß Ahlen. That was the first time I was introduced to him in 2008 in the 2.Bundesliga. He played there from 2005 till 2009. After a great spell he went for around 800.000,- € to Bmg. Dortmund refused to sign him, because of that "big" price tag. Three years later, in 2012, Dortmund finally got him back for 17 Mio. and the rest is history.
YESSS IM SO READY TO PLAY THIS DATABASE, don’t get me wrong the other databases are nice with the 98/99 being my fav, but i always hated having to play for like 6 seasons just to have a retro Messi and Ronaldo in my team, plus having some of my all time favs still being somewhat young is just amazing (Beckham, kaka, Nakata, and Ji Sung)

Thanks for showing this. My fav database to play in FM but this one needs a lot of work. Same like FM 23 version it has vastly inflated stats, especially physical, as that makes top players not diverse enough while that era was actually very diverse.
All attributes are based on the CM version of that time

bro i i think you can make a starting save on fm retro 1998/00 and have the regen staff and just make a save before yuo pick a team and then go to fm 24 and load the save and play it from there so basically you get all from fm 23 if you do this in fm 24
I propose an idea for a video, to make the most of the possibility of exceptional players coming out of the Youth Teams in all leagues and see what happens by simulating, if it can be done

The only big name I can think of that I don't recall seeing at all throughout the entire video was Zlatan Ibrahimovic... but agreed, you could easily spend hours checking out details of players and see what their alternative career could have been like.

Some of the potential abilities seem a bit generous. Like 191 for Robinho, 190 for van Nistelrooy. 187 for Gilardino, 185 for Kewell. 185 for Daniel Andersson and 175 for Diego Placente seem especially generous and weird 😅
