I always love to compare US gas vs. Europe (Belgium in my case), even tho it makes me cry. So $3/gallon is $0,8/liter. In Belgium, gas is €1,3/liter, that's $1,6/liter which is $5,9/gallon. My friends in Wisconsin don't believe me when I tell them this.
When I went to Hawaii the flight was amazing. It was it middle of June and yet the plane was half empty and I could get a whole row to myself if I wanted. Near the end of the flight there was a sunset and it was SO PRETTY I also loved passing over the mountains in my state whilst leaving. (I live in alaska)

In Vancouver I'm pretty sure our gas prices translate to well near $5.00 a gallon lol. Sometimes I fill up across the border in Lynden for $2.54 a gallon it was 2 days ago. love it
It's crazy because I've had nothing but good experiences with hostels, but my friends not so much. I've stayed in a lot of Hostelling International hostels (In Whistler, Vancouver, Toronto) and they're actually great and not what you'd expect from a hostel, so maybe check them out next time you want to stay in a hostel :)
They're literally called HI Toronto, HI Whistler, etc etc. :) They have them all over the world. You can take out a membership too which is pretty cheap and it knocks like $5 off per night so it's worth doing (and you can get discounts on local tours and in some shops). I went to Canada over the summer so I wanted to stay in cheaper accomodation and spend more on experiences, and I was sooo pleased with the hostels I went to! :)
I love night flights so much, i don't even know why, I just love it. And I'm always the only one who doesn't sleep.
