You guys going to do a video on the David Taylor news?
Oklahoma has regulations and time restraints when hiring for state job. Coleman is a great coach, great for OSU. he will be the next coach. he has earned this opertunity
Ill do it, been out of work for a month or so anyways might as well go slumming.
Waiting on David Taylor?
Nice thumbnail pick of John with the caption. That said, as a federal employee I know it takes close to two months to go through the mandatory posting period, HR scoring applications, interviews. It would be easy to think they are just now starting interviews. And yeah Coleman would have been a top 3 candidate, head coaching experience, NCAA champ, with an Olympic bronze. There aren’t that many similar folks that are ACTUALLY trying to move into a new job. Some opinion and some knowledge of government job hiring.
To me, it sounds like Coleman is who Okie State will go with unless they can land a pipe dream like DT, which is why they’re waiting. Because DT is debating his future post-trials
Coleman literally changed the OSU team from the last few years. Coleman is the coach...
David Taylor
JD's drip cannot be denied
He should get a job at barstool
Keep up the good work guys, I enjoyed watching the videos. Oklahoma State will be tough next season, even better if W. Henderson transfers in. With all this realignment going on, I would like to see Oklahoma State and Iowa State join the Big 10. Since both have quality wrestling programs!!
State job. Will require a posting, a minimum listed date, a closing, hr review, then candidates sent to interview panels. A score system based on peoples review not even affiliated with wrestling will help determine outcome. Usually, it is a 2 to 3 month process at best. Typically, it goes to an insider regardless the system in place to ensure fair practices. State school equals state system equals it will be a minute. It will take a big name to jump the line.
Not familiar with Ok's specific rules, but generally this is the gist (I'm on faculty at a public U). I'd add that while these rules/laws are geared toward fairness, the idea is also about "trying" to find the best candidate available for the job, not simply someone who might be popular or connected in some way (but who might not necessarily be the best candidate).
HR and process is not slowing this down. I promise you that.
@christianpyles1820 you may have information I don't, and you may be correct. I've worked for the state for 20 years (some at a small college) and was just given my thoughts on what I've seen a thousand times. When Mike retired from Duke, they had a succession in place to avoid this and were able to do so because they are a private institution. You may be right, and an overlap contract could've been approved and not yet announced.
When they make up their mind, no minimum listing dates will hold up their choice.
Kyle Dake coming to Oklahoma State, too.
That’s 2! 🫵🤠✌️
Is Eric Guerrero a candidate?
No. While a very good wrestler, apparently he has a very abrasive personality. Not saying he won’t be a coach somewhere someday, but not Okie State
There's a few great legends that will retire this Olympic year, so I'd assume Ok. St. is discussing potentially looking to hire someone who comes from outside of the program
Ben?
Daniel Cormier would be a fun pick.
Well he already knows everything. Just ask him
Colman scott will get the job he is young and energetic. He was doing a great job at nc. Just imagine what he does with ok.st. DT is great, but not at ok. St.
Mark perry
OSU did not have a good culture when I was there. Lot of questionable activity and burnout. They should bring in a new PSU guy. Strike while the irons got and try to convince DT. Need someone who emphasizes fun and skill development
They’re trying, but DT has a lot at happy valley. Has a chance to take over for CS, and him and his wife seem happy there.
@@chadh8132 seems like he would get a lot more land in Oklahoma than Penn which seems to be what makes him happy. I also heard in college that he originally was going to commit at OSU until he met Cael. With how many top quality guys they are producing he might not be the front runner when Cael retires but him building a legacy at OSU would put him at the front.
If Spencer Lee lost the trials, David Taylor would have already been signed by Okie state or Iowa. Lee just bought Brands another 2 years. Plus Taylor lost some leverage power
There is a chance that the inflation has hit Scott and he's trying to negotiate for himself and his staff for raises. He has a lot of leverage right now, but that leverage is gone when you get smoked by PSU every year, Ohio St looks good for the next 3, and Iowa is Iowa. He's lucky to have top 5 finishes over the next 4 years, so he has to strike now.
1st week no hire = State law.
2nd week no hire = Olympics
3rd week no hire = Are they looking elsewhere ????
Why not Daniel Cormier?
I always thought Espositio would be the next guy, NC State snatched him up though
Esposito probably thought he’d have a good chance at the job until last year, when they brought Coleman in. And he was probably pissed
@@CZcams_AMD good point, thats prob why he went to nc state, he was at osu for 14 years, he probably was pissed
Ben Askren?
I think Askren is looking for the Wisconsin job.
We want Dake
Not even mentioning the name David Taylor??!!! This is why FLO is disappointment 👎
Ben Askren? Just a thought
If I was him. I wouldn’t take it. He’s already living the good life
David Taylor will become the highest paid D1 Wrestling Coach getting over $1M and will call Stillwater, Oklahoma his new home very soon. 🫵🤠✌️
