@@jonasen92andersen WOW! I was thinking a DSLR. The editing and the choice of shots are really good. I am thinking of doing the tour myself. Would a pulka work well on it? i notice you all use rucksacks.
Dean Nilvalli it was our first winter hike so did it simple and just used the same backpacks which we use on summer hikes. The backpacks makes you flexible and I also thinks you are moving faster. However you never rest before you take it of. With the pulk it goes a bit slower, more tricky when you ski downhill and tougher when climbing. I would say for a 5 days hike and you can split tent and kitchen on 3 pers, backpacks is fine. If you are alone, take the pulk. Also if you do a longer trip 7 days + take the pulk. Can recommend you to check my movie “Karats” which is a more soft winter hike from this spring! Thanks!
@@jonasen92andersen THanks, good tips. I had a pulk when I was skiing in Rondona, and Sarek, found it much better than the pack. YOu don't have ht eweight on you at all times. BUt yes, tricky when going downhill, especilly if it goes down the the side of you, or in rough terrain, where it goes up and down constantly.
Great video! Showed my girlfriend your video last year and she was totally sold. Just 3 weeks for our trip! I'm wondering how you found using rucksacks instead of a pulka though? Did you regret not taking one? I'm trying to weigh up the cost-to-benefit for a 5 day Abisko-Nikkaluokta trip.
Cheers guys. Knew to hiking, as I've been playing football mostly. Recently got an idea of hiking Kungsleden right away as my first hike. Might be crazy, might be not. Will see. I've never seen it in Winter like this. Now I am interested even more. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you for your thoughts and input! You should definitely hike the trail. Perhaps not the complete one directly since its 400km long. The video is from the northest part with a small detour to NIkkaloukta. My recommendation is to start with a summer hike. A winter hike requires a bit more experience and gears if you are planning to do it with tents :) Have a great trip and good luck with the planning!
Teemu Vidgren you should absolutely do it! I think we were a bit lucky with the weather but still it will be an amazing adventure :) I’m glad that the video can be such an inspiration!
Thanks for the encouragement! I eventually decided to go for it so now I´m in the phase of gathering gear and trying to sort out the travel plan. Gonna be fun :)
Jonas Andersen Just wanted to get back to you as I actually ended up doing the Abisko - Nikkaluokta ski over the Easter. Really enjoyed the whole way, thanks again for the inspiration! I also posted a short video from the trip if you want to check it out here czcams.com/video/PUxNV2sDuXw/video.html
Hi Teemu! What a nice trip and great great movie you have created! :) Did you sleep in tent or at the cottages? What camera equipment did you use? And also a drone? :P Thanks for your comment!
Thanks! I decided to sleep in the cottages this time, but for the next one I´ll definitely go with a tent. All filming was done with Sony a6500 with 18-105mm F4 lens and the aerial shots with DJI Mavic Pro :)
Hey Guxs. Great video about your trip. Next year we will do the Trail in end of march. A question..what kind of trousers did you wear? Brand? .. thx and greetings
Hi WildSide ! End of March should be a good time for such a trip. The last years we have done it in connection with eastern vacation but think it’s better a couple of weeks earlier. Regarding your question about trousers, we used fjallraven Vidda when skiing (g1000 cotton) with a pair of long johns underneath. In the camp we also used rain pants or thermopants. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to ask me!
Paul Anton I used Marmot Never Summer with a sleeping comfort temperature to -18 deg Celsius. The nights we were sleeping under the sky I also used my down jacket -15 to -25 deg. Yes I have done part of the trail summertime (kvikkjokk to Abisko)
Jonas Andersen great, thx very much. Yeah the part from Abisko to Kvikkjokk was definatly one of my favorite parts, especially the Rapadalen delta. I hiked the whole Kungsleden this year.
Hi again, You need to have equipment that you trust and know. Tent, winter sleeping bags, down jacket, warm sleeping pad, shovel and base layer of wool are essential. Multi fuel kitchen is also recommended but we managed to use a gas (but it takes forever to melt snow when it’s around -20 degrees Celsius) Enjoy the trip! And check my channel for more videos 😊
Hi Maria Bonilla, I use several brands - You should go for a high percentage of wool (90% or more). My self is a big fan of Aclimas Woolnet cloths. They tend all to be expensive (still worth it), but there are some more cost efficient options if you buy from www.engelsons.se Another recommendation is to have one set only to sleep in which always should be kept dry.
I can't believe this doesn't have more hits. It is so well filmed, well edited, and the music fits so well! Brilliant little piece of film making.
Dean Nilvalli thank you for your kind words! The fun fact is that it is also filmed 95% with iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 🙂

What would you recommend as trousers for king trail cross counter skiing in March..?
Looks amazing your video
WONDERFUL, Congratulations. I am planning to do it Dog Sledding.
I just wonder...Where did you recharge your Batteries ????

ivve Been hiking and Skiing in this Area for almost 15 yrs. Never have i seen anyone on backcountry skis here.

Härlig tur 😀
Well done! Praeparandus supervivet.
Nice video. Was it a hard way to climb up to the pass at 4:15? Did hike the same path during the summer now tempted to do it in winter as well

@@jonasen92andersen Thy for answering :)
So cool... Did the whole Kungsleden this summer, but i am already planning to do a winter tour. Whats the name of the last song by the way?
Paul Anton You should do it! This was my first winter tour but for sure not the last! We were lucky with nearly perfect weather!
Paul Anton Check the end of the movie for the song.
Thanks for you reply, what kind of sleeping bags did you use and what was their temperature range? And have you ever hiked the Kungsleden in summer?

What would you say are the essential equipment to do this crossing in early March.? Any tips?

Ridiculous music, put me off watching. Newsflash - you’re not a Hollywood director
