- Cover of American Horse from Sonic Temple, probably the closest track to the Love album in atmosphere. Played it on the Gretsch to get the chimy sound at the start and there's a a second guitar underneath with a 12 string harmonic sound during the intro. Harder distortion used on this one to get that Sonic Temple tour live sound. Another drumbeat played (a bit out of time in places) by me and the end of the track is ....very loose... not exactly spot on but fun using the wah for the psychadelic soloing.

My favorite Cult song and I love a lot of them. Awesome job and channel.
Thanks Vule34
Great cover. Sonic Temple sounds like the first album in places 👍🏻
Cheers Allotmental, definitely early Cult in that riff
Very cool to hear something from “Sonic Temple”. Great job as always. Love the Black Falcon, BTW. Looks to be early 2000’s, perhaps? Love my White Falcon but the black is quite elegant.
Thanks John, think the Falcon is a 2005/2006 model, would like a White also, this one came up for sale a while back at a decent price so snapped it up
✨WOW l LOVE! This SONG🎶💜✨🎶💜
Gorgeous guitar and what a great track, covered with soul!🤘🤘🤘
Thank you mate
Totally kick ass. I always loved this tune. After moving to LA from London 12 years ago those lyrics took on an extra special meaning. Good work.
Cheers Tony, did you tame the American Horse?. I was tempted by a move to LA also, I played the Viper Room in 2010 with an old band, hung out in the Whisky and along Sunset Strip, even bumped into one time Cult bassist Chris Wise in a bar and had a chat - nice guy. Came back to London and I got comfortable again and never made the move. I guess, never say never..
Great cover! This is maybe my favorite track from Sonic Temple! :)
Thanks mate👍
very cool , another song i like , you pick good tunes to cover 👌🏻
Thanks Ryan
Amazing tone and playing, well done! Billy would be proud. Can't wait to see The Cult live again (hopefully), it's been too long. Obviously the Gretsch is a big part of the tone, aside from the wah can you share your set up (amp models, effects, settings etc)? BD is known for using more than one amp at a time, not sure if that's happening here also. But the tone is just killer.
Thanks - effects wise, its a Boss GT6 effects unit and I'm using Distortion, Chorus and a bit of delay to emulate the distortion of a Marshall mixed with a Roland JC120 stereo chorus amp. With the GT6 there's a lot of experimenting, getting away from the presets to get a decent tone.
Great job!
Thanks Jefferson
Superb dude and the Black Falcon is sweet! I'm currently going through the Sonic Temple album myself. It has no weakness! Just hoping Mr Duffy and Gibson release the signature Les Paul that's in the pipeline soon! 🤘
Thanks Carlos
Another top job mate.....great choice of song to cover 🤘
Thanks Si
Sounds amazing played on the Falcon ,Mr Duffy take note ! I for one believe he should be playing all Cult tunes on the Falcon and put down the Les Paul altogether , it sounds so much better played on the Falcon 👍😎🖤🎶
Thanks Carl
Great work! What effects are you using in your videos to get the Duffy tones? And when will we hear Gods Zoo? 🤘🏼
+1 for “God’s Zoo”, please and thank you
One of the tracks I'm hoping to do over the next few weeks, along with Go West, Electric Ocean (Peace version)
@@AlternativeGuitars It's so great to see someone playing classic Cult songs. Keep up the good work! CFFC
Come avrai capito i the cult sono uno dei gruppi se non i primi dei miei gusti . Quando tu li esegui ricevi sicuramente un mio commento positivo . Trasmetti le melodia pienamente !!!
Grazie per aver controllato il canale e la musica
Billy Duffy was really far out in his style.
He used the echo and the chorus pedals like a master.
Definitely, a very underated guitarist
