First, thank you! I Have a couple of questions: 1. You're unwinding the spring, and that makes it the entire device MORE sensitive, correct? 2. Theoretically, if the spring were to shear/break completely, the device would lock up nearly instantly, correct? 3. There are two springs on the device, meaning one on each side of the device, correct? 4. You can mod just _one_ side of the device, having it be extra sensitive, and leave the other side less sensitive, correct? Again thanks for posting!
I have 4 questions! 1. Is it correct to say you are unwinding the spring, making it weaker? 2. If the spring were to completely shear/break, the unit would instantly lock up, correct? 3. There are two springs on the unit, one on each side, correct? 4. By mod-ing one side, the other side will still catch at the original 4m/s, correct? Thank you!
Yes to all four questions. Keep in mind that if you do too much on one side, it can still be annoying even when using the other side, for example when cutting slack, because the other side activates in that case. So you want to mod it well on the first try.
@@AndreaCalligarisClimbing Thanks a ton! I agree too Wild Country should release one with a quicker catch, or some kind of adjustable one would be the king.

It's unfortunate Wild Country won't sell one where you can change the spring position, like the Grigri+.
Yup, that would be the best thing, so you're not modifying the device.
Still, I didn't yet find any con about the modification.
@@AndreaCalligarisClimbing I just bought a used one to try this out. Thanks for the helpful video and explaining where the spring needs to end up.
Just trying to do this mod, the spring is getting ‘caught’ on the first shelf thing, am i meant to try and force it past this?
By "shelf thing" you mean one of the orange blocks? Yes, you have to push onward. It has to do at least half a circle.
