I have 1 question will Nintendo in any way hurt me if I had used a a power save/action replay on 3ds and brought it over to switch it wouldn’t let me bring some but some still got over into home and I can’t remember which ones I did
I love the little sweat drops. It's like your pokemon thinks the shiny is too special to attack but it doesnt want to disappoint its trainer by not listening. Plus it's a good mechanic to prevent trainer mistakes.
I thought that was cool too! The part about “pathways, ground and flying” confused me though, lol
@@TheJavibear not sure if you're still confused but I do believe he means if you have a pokemon on the ground and you are trying to make it attack a pokemon that's in the air flying around, it wouldn't have the ability to approach it and battle it. So, no pathway from the ground to reach the bird :) diglet sure isn't going to try and get a flying braviary, too risky and it can't reach 😜

Austin I am so glad I found you back in sword and shield days! Your guides are so helpful and I like that you mark the episodes that have spoilers in them
The breeding mechanic doesn't seem too different! Almost like a roaming nursery without the person, so the pokemon you want to breed are in your party instead of with them, which also allows you to breed multiple pokemon at once. Sounds pretty solid.
Nah its better then just mobile nursery its free mobile nursery now I no longer have to pay the egg tax lol

Also, there's going to be less dialogue for switching pokemon in the now non-existent nursery. Not sure how long the picnic animations will be, but it'll probably be fastest to just make a sandwich and chill until you have some boxes full of eggs for hatching.
The one issue I have with the new breeding system is that you used to be able to use the daycare to put egg moves on Pokemon without breeding them and now it looks like if I want to get, say, a Bisharp with Sucker Punch, I'll have to go through the rigmarole of breeding one and levelling that one rather than just using the one already in my team
@@TheMurasakiProjectNop, if you don't know yet, you can equip them with a Mirror Herb and put them with the Pokemon that has that move and they will get that move (if they have one slot free for a move) in the picnic.

Something to add on shiny terra raids:
If you save before entering the raid, and it's a shiny, you can reload and invite people and it will still be shiny
Wouldn’t it be really funny if this wasn’t true and the person who tested it just got really lucky twice

I ran into a full odds shiny Makuhita last night, so hype since it’s the second full odds shiny I’ve ever found in a mainline game in my entire time of playing Pokémon
I’ve encountered my first full odds shiny a couple days ago, it completely surprised me because had I not moved my camera SLIGHTLY to the right I would’ve missed the shiny green Noibat flapping a few feet away
Encountered my second full odds shiny, first was Purugly in BDSP, second was a Tera fighting sneasel.
(I’m not counting legends arceus)
I love the mass outbreak shiny odds, as someone who doesn’t have enough time to do the Mesuda method, it’s nice that we now have a slightly less time consuming way to get shinies. Thanks Austin for putting out such informative and entertaining content, you are my go-to CZcamsr for all things pokemon related :)

Same here, the only time i did the mesuda method was with Goomy for a shiny gold Goodra in sword and shield
I just have one question, let's say I clear the first wave and no shiny I have to hard reset just like in Arceus and make the sandwich again?

I saw a Green Hoppip which I knew it was Shiny and I just started playing the Pokemon Violet after 6:30Pm which I took a break from trying to get a Female Sprigatito after 7:00Pm!
It took me over 20 Times to get a Female Sprigatito which it has Good Status!
The sprites are shiny

Psyduck is one of my absolute favorites. Caught a shiny one early in Arceus and he was on my team when I took down Giratina. Glad to see i can get him again! Shiny Psyduck will ride again!

I was playing violet and literally as I was walking through route one, I found a shiny tarountula. Didn’t even realize it was shiny at first, thought it was the lighting from one of the trees lol

The breeding is great for shiny hunting cuz you can collect a bunch of eggs and then hatch em all in a row. Plus i'd imagine this works well with a turbo button maybe

Something small I just noticed, now when you save it says "saving your pokemon adventure". It's a really small thing but it's a really cool change that makes the experience very slightly more immersive

I actually got my first shiny in the games yesterday. Shiny Chansey. I was doing a kilowattrel mass outbreak and I saw it spawn. So happy I got it.

I just got my first Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Violet before I even did any of the Treasure Hunt quests. That Pokemon was a Skiddo, found with a small group of Skiddo. Made my day, I will say =D

Not directly related to the topic but man these games look so damn amazing and I can’t wait to play tomorrow. Only addition I’d love to see in a future gen is being able to make a base since we’re now likely in the open world era of Pokémon. I’d love to be able to have a base set up that I can customize however like a traditional survival game would have.

@@codyriley9784 not seeing a shiny flash or animation and not knowing what pokemons colours are on the get go and the fact that vanilla playthrough theyll be 1 in 4096...its pretty high likely hood You're gonna miss a few shinies and or you wont be able to look away from your screen whilst roaming which really sucks if you wanna watch some youtube vids whilst hunting...

I was wandering around the gate that goes into the university city and just saw a shiny Azurill swimming. I was able to catch her as it's the first I've caught in like a decade as I don't actively hunt shinies and because I ADORE Azurill.

SUPER not liking the removal of the little chime and animation for shinies to be honest. REALLY hope they add that in some updates to the game.
i felt that way at first, then I remembered my ENTIRE BOX of shiny bugs, birds, and rocks.
After ~40 hours I realized this is a good middle ground.
@@AustinJohnPlays So it's mostly just a matter of getting a bit familiar with the standard colors of the Pokemon (specifically the new ones) and then just keeping an eye out?
@@kenzilla1851 pretty much. the dynamic lighting system makes it a little more random too, so it's kinda a fun challenge. the new Pack Spawn mechanic makes it easier

A handy tip I just found that you and other people may not know. Once you unlock the lock-on feature you can use this to reach unintented places in area one, giving you access to ~lvl20 mons including Scyther, Marill, the mastiff dog mon, Toxel, Phanpy and more. I am still exploring but currently a lvl 22 Toxel is my strongest pokemon on my team. Quaxwell lvl17
There's also ralts, hatenna, dunsparce and a level 30 salazzle there

In relation to the hacked pokemon banning, I released every single pokemon in home and on swsh and any others that was not either caught by me or by someone i trust. Hacked pokemon are a cancer and it needs to be treated like 1 by finding a cure for it some how. Awesome video as always cant wait for more S&V vids.
Thank you for the note on hacked mons too! I've been flooded with level 100 hacked shinies in the Surprise Trade lately in Shield (been releasing them as they appear). It's so annoying.
I haven't even reached the first pokemon center and I caught a Shiny Lechonk. I named her Ultra-Chonk and she's now permanently in my party.

I can confirm that 3-4 dittos and 2 of the same male Pokémon makes more eggs per row. Thanks for the amazing content man!
The nursery method just seems like a streamline portable version of the old method. Kind of weird that it will be random from the pokemon in your party (sounds like some frisky business going on in camp 😂) but I guess if you swap out your team then you will know what you're getting. Will make breeding multiple pokemon fast though.
my friend left her picnic for 10 mins and got like 7 eggs lmao
@@Megzsy98 When I was breeding eggs the other day I found that I would get a lot more if I had 3 males and 3 females. Didn't have a ditto at the time so had to breed a few first, hatch them and then have a party of 6 of the same pokemon. I'd assume you can do that with 3 dittos and 3 of the other pokemon, or maybe you'd only need 1 ditto and 5 of the other 😂

I started up the game at launch, walked onto the first route and the first wild pokemon I fought (out of catching tutorial) was shiny. I got a shiny scatterbug for my first caught pokemon!

I personally love that they don’t shine or make a noise in the over world, they’re just a regular Pokémon with a different color palette, makes it more « realistic ». I like it
it has ups and downs i'd say. its nice that the game doesn't hold your hand and scream at you in every way possible that its a shiny. but if i saw that shiny flamigo in the wild, the odds of me realizing its shiny is much lower than 1/4000
I don’t. It’s incredibly inaccessible for people. If you have any sort of colourblindness, there’s virtually no way at all to be able to tell
@@coloursaur1494 send your Pokémon out via let’s go. If it ever cowers away with tears without losing health, it just battles a shiny. Really easy. Also colorblindess would rarely change things

I saw a Green Hoppip roaming around in the Grass and it only Shined right when I started to battle against it!
