When using VAG Com & the Program.
1. Turn off wifi or go into Airplane mode on PC with software.
2. Connect the VAG Com to the OBD Port in the car.
3. Push and or turn the key all the way in without turning on the car and without pressing the breaks!
4. Connect VAG Com to PC via USB.
5. Open the Program, click options, click test.
(If it says "CAN = OK") (Youre good to go)
6. Then Save it
7. Go to main screen and then you're good to go! :)

Before this, when my car hits 0 miles in fuel tank, I would buy a full tank of 91 & or 93. The pump has stopped every time at 14 gallons of fuel, ever since car bought. When I turn the car on I get an estimated of 320-360 fuel miles. I have been & added fuel to a 2012 A4 with the same tank & everything and a full tank displays 460miles all the time. This means my car is programed to store 2 gallons as reserve gas. So I decided to get rid of that coding, in order to get a close accurate estimated measure of the fuel I have.

Thank you so very, very much for the information regarding restoring the Car Menu information. Like you, I had entered something wrong, and wound up with only 2 items showing. Using your guide at 4:15 into the video I was able to restore all of the previous information!

It's really made my day. That menu has been on my mind for 6 months, and now it's fixed thanks to your video. Imagine having a TPMS warning come on EVERY single time you start your car (even though the air pressure is right) but not having the menu item to turn it off. It's off now!

No you need any kind of tuning computer software or ecu reader computer softwarr to see, read the tune you have. I have a copy of my tune ecu file stock & my custom stage 2 tune via the expensive software
Just a tip. Don't leave your side mirror selector in the middle. That's The defogger setting which means the hearing element is on. If you leave it in this position it cooks the glue holding the mirror and it starts to delaminate.
Nope, not at all. Because it is just a selector, you need then to press the button to use defogger option (in my case at least).

For the background lighting, it can adjust the brightness of the ambinet light, if it's installed, like foot light and door panel light.

Hello, at 2:40 how did you manage to get the accurate fuel meter amount? I believe this is the issue I have with my Audi A4 after messing with the cluster and needles. One day my Audi engine just shuts off mid drive and EPC and Check Engine Light turns on just like how it does on this video.
Hit the reset button when u open door an it will turn that alarm off

To disable door alarms change vehicle country to germany. You may have to adjust timezone and other things

Do you know where to find a guide specific to the b8.5 for light/rain sensor and auto lights with coming/leaving home? I've changed the parts and activated via vcds but only rain senzor works. Nothing on mmi.

Awesome stuff. What was the final value you used for 17/10/30 the Fuel ratio adjustment? Seems that it should be the same on every car if you got it right.

i never bothered to fix it as I am going to swap my odometer out for the s4 one, but I do believe that it could just be a bad led light inside the instrument cluster dash & there maybe no other way to fix it unless you put a new one or unless you remove it pop out its covers & manually replace the led

You can use the same cable to diagnosis the problem & possibly find the location of it, fix the problem like there could be a lose connection that the program can point out...

Kayvan Zia I’ve never looked into upgrading it because it doesn’t affect me, I really don’t need it, but I’ve read in many forums that it is possible to do. Maybe one day I’ll upgrade and make a video cause it’s a bit pricy too lol
Yeah, I've found it pricey too when I went to audi dealership, but you can find the genuine upgrade disk on ebay for the fraction of the dealership's price if you know the exact version that you are after! the funny thing is it comes straight from Germany!
Kayvan Zia I haven’t looked into it much, idk if the module would need to be replaced as the upgraded mmi does come with several built in features which are not on your standard basic packaged Audi, like the nav I’m assuming you need the module as it needs to connect to satellites in order to function well and a cd is only just to update the software and not add it

For the B8/B8.5 Audi models for example it all variea what package you have MMI 2G & 2G high does not have hidden green screen menu. But if you have MMI 3G then you do have access to the hidden green screen menu.

On my 2013 S4 B8-5: To stop that alarm all I have to do is push the button on the end of the wiper lever. Not sure if it will work on yours. You have to do it every time you become annoyed. Steve

Click the stalk reset for killing the door alarm....when the door is open
1:25 open the door. Press reset at the top of your wiper stock.

Rater 10 it only works if your audi is equipped with the mmi 3g & NOT the mmi 2g high which is what i have. Unless your audi has the navigation/Bluetooth package, then it is indeed possible

Yes it should work & steps MAY vary since you have the Prestige package, which would include the side mirror blind spot assistant. But I did not see it as an issue and it should work fine. Let me know how it goes

Local key guy connected something like that program the keys. It didn’t work, now the car says “dynamic steering wheel malfunction, can continue driving “. The steering wheel is all bery heavy. What coild be the reason?

Any idea why your spedometer goes up to 180? My 2013 a4 only goes up to 160...my friend has a 2009 a4 and his goes up to 180 as well

Puro Blanco not sure how it doesn't seem to work for you. Make sure you have the right hex can cable
Puro Blanco - sounds like you bought the a4 premium like I did! Premium plus and Prestige models have more advanced controls and options. You might be able to swap out your wiper/cruise control stalk with a premium plus, prestige stalk and retrofit! Then use vag-com to enable the new options!

Yo. I don’t understand how you hook up your car to a computer??? I didn’t know you could program more menu items from a computer on to a car. I need someone to hook up their computer to my car to help me turn the chirp sound effect back on when locking my door because the chirp noise randomly stopped making the noise when I lock the car and it pisses me off cause I want the chirp noise to come back :(

What value did you set in channel 30 in tank characteristic adaptation? More than 140? I have similar situation in my car. When filling up 0 means something about 14 gallons.
Mateusz Stanienda from what i can remember i set my value 2 digits bellow the maximum # based on my calculations on how much gas i had to how much gas i needed to read ratio etc

for the fuel adjustment, so are you saying that when the gauge is showing empty, the tank still has fuel in it, like an additional reserve, and you got rid of that, so the gauge shows a true reading?
Also i can tell you how to disable open door chime if you still have the car ( i realise the video is 5yrs old lol)
For part 1 of your comment. Yes, in a sense that's what I did and it's always been more accurate for me. (Variables will vary).
Yes I still have the car, the only way I can disable it, is by manually pressing the reset button on the right arm stick knob of the steering wheel arms. I have been trying to find a way software wise to disable it

In my car the tank is 65L capacity I think, but when I needed to fill up and had like 60km range left which is not a lot, it only took 50L at the gas station. which would mean it's got a big margin of extra reserve. But I think I'll leave it like that. Better to have some extra fuel even of it shows empty than to actually run empty
to turn off door chime:
comfort system 46 => adaptation => channel 98, change value from 1 to 0 ......... to turn off chime when ignition is ON
then long coding => byte 15 => set bits 0 and 3 to 1 ......... to turn off chime when engine is running
I have an A5 B8 so pretty much the same car and it worked for me
My B8.5 A4 would go 50 actual miles on zero. So i changed it to where I can only go 20 miles on zero. As for the door chime, I feel like that option doesn't exist in my A4 from what I remmeber. I believe I have tried this and I think VCDS said " Error Out of Range". Based on the fiurms, I don't think it'll work on certain models & trim packages. don't remmeber since it's been so long, but I'll try again thanks!
@@MotorHeadTechI wish I could test how far I can actually go with the gauge showing empty, and adjust it so it's accurate, but I have a diesel engine so it's best not to run until empty because then you get air in the fuel lines and it's difficult to bleed, also the high pressure fuel pump is lubricated by diesel itself so if you run dry it could sent metal glitter down the line and damage injectors. Better not to push my luck. Petrol engines don't have that problem. You can just fill them up and they start up again

Im looking to mainly enable the dvd while moving so kids can watch movies and raise my idle a bit. Will this do both? Does this want credits like other model? Don't want to get nickel and dimed to death after buying unit for everything I change.

Based on the reseach ive done its incompatible with the mmi 2g & the only way is by removing your whole system out if the car & installing an mmi 3g system

Just hit the reset button on the steering wheel stalk. It turns off the beep temporarily.

Kish B driver window only opened with the key fob?? not sure What you mean, whenever I hold the unlock button on my key fob all windows go down ( the preference of which one opens can be changed under the car mmi setup menu) & to close all is hold the unlock button on key fob until everything closes
This has been a great video, I've unlocked all of the options that you show on here but I can't seem to find the right menu on VCDS to get the key fob to open and close the windows. I've tried examining the adaptation and long coding menus on (46)Central Conv. and tinkered with a couple of things, but no luck. What did you do to enable the key fob to work on the windows?

Hi, we have the exact same car basic A4, can you activate the green menu (enginering menu)?
No because the car has MMI Basic 2g, which is not built into the A4 (unless you have the MMI 3g with bluetooth music audio & navigation, which may have it) (the radio nob & buttons are located near the armrest where your transmission lever is located.)
@@MotorHeadTechmy car have the basic 3g not 2g, also I cant code the welcome lights and return home lights, maybe it need to have the auto switch ley lights?
@@gentx283 These functions/features also depend what year A4 you have? Like the 2009 to 2012 have limitations physically and software-wise, unlike the 2013 to 2016 which come with more functions and features especially software-wise.

coin master I don’t think so, they only way I’m assuming keyless entry would work is by the default stock way of touching the door handle and opening it without having to press your key fob

Vitesh Rampaul jts basically when one breaks really hard (going 80mph to 30mph) the hazard warning lights come up for around 10 sec then it disappears

hey I noticed that the electric speedo has a test for diffrent colours and stuff and says somthing about uploading I wondering if i could install a custom start splash or somthing

I’ve done that and there’s still no background lighting option, the only new option is battery level

@@jonk4147 did you watch my whole video & if so try to use the oem values given with the car & then redo the modifications to the value again
4:30 ..palm face.. so the coding number when you enter (before you mess with anything) e.g. 102663637586 etc ... ALWAYS copy and paste it into a notepad. Save as.. where you are / vehicle etc.. then when you lose all your menus.. you just paste it in..
I mean i'm recording the video, so if i happen to revert back I still have the original values recorded, while yes I should have mentioned to always copy & paste your original values in a notepad document so I can always go back to it, if needed.

Do you mean trim as in the packages you have in your car for example for the Audi A4 there are few packages; premium (basic), Premium Plus (navigation) or prestige with S-line written in the A4?

best way to tell is just by looking at the front end, on the B8 the grills are rounded all the way through, the grills on the B8.5 (2013 to 2016) have a fine border line on the left & right side
the headlights are halogen (basic package), headlights are LED (paid higher package)
odometer instrument cluster screen is only red (basic package), the higher paid package has mostly a black screen with a bit of colorful LED screen (green & red)
shift knob is thinner compared to a 2013 to 2016 thicker knob
steering wheel has a only a big voice button compared to the 2013 to 2016 steering wheels which have a small voice button & a small nav button.
B8 rear tailights are different too, B8.5 are LED
it looks like you have the older MMI graphics on your A4 I have a 13 A4 that has the newer MMI display wonder why

..or you can mute the peep tone through the reset button under the wiper stalk. At least thats what I do on my B8 and it works everytime.

David Yidi depending what yr a4 you have & what packages you have; There is an extra button located at the bottom of the stick that activates the windshield washer fluid, (called the reset button).
David Yidi my dad's 2012 a4 (b8) stock packages doesnt have that feature that my 2013 a4 (b8.5) stock package has that feature, the reset button

You can either get the original Audi Music Interface Cable that goes into the glovebox or an aftermarket like this one. If you have an iphone this amzn.to/3RpLT54 will work for an actual usb port here is this one amzn.to/3Q8ZMn7 . Before puchasing, check the compatiability of your device! I hope this helps since the B8 Audi's do not come with a factory USB port built into the car

Your car then probally has the hidden port on the right side wall of the glove box, probally hidden under a black rubber cover that comes off easily

The car has a multitronic it IS NOT tiptronic. IT IS NOT OFFERED ON A B8 A4 FACELIFTED. I HAVE ONE. I can run at 120 km/h at 1st gear. (Multitronic=CVT)
