She is a deep contralto and had trouble I think with the range on this one.

Look I'm going to say this much if Michael wasn't legally married then good for him. Because really in my opinion he should've found another way to help with his career, find someone else to actually and actually marry them. Which he did with Debbie, even though his mother advised him to. Besides I think personally her live performances are kind of hard to listen to at times. But I'm not going to judge her, regardless what she looks like, sings like or how she acts.

@BDSaysHi - You are so ignorant of the music business. Elvis a song thief? Then so are: Ray Charles, Johnny Mathis, Sinatra & anyone who sings songs by others. Many black writers were ripped off by their own publishers (the people who PAY the songwriter). Elvis doesn't pay royalties. Songwriters WANT an Elvis to sing their songs. Otis made BAD DEALS with his own publishers. No one would've known who Otis Blackwell was without Elvis. Otis got credit on every Elvis record.

He made everyone in the world buy so many of his records he became the artist of the century.MJ was no threat with Thriller. The industry sees $ signs they don't destroy it. Songs MJ purchased were all played out oldies. The music had some value, but being sold to whom? HipHop, R&B & Rap buying audience? Elvis never wrote a song -- but he made many songwriters who couldn't sing rich -- consistently.

This definitely wasn't a good duet, however if this is your first time watching her live, it is a poor representation of how she is with her own music. She isn't bad. Just because of her back ground everyone expects her to sound like the next Elvis which is unrealistic. She probably felt awkward singing this with Idol. Blame her promoter/manager for convincing her of doing this.

You are kidding right. I think she has moved like a turtle. I understand she is a mom, and that there is enough to take it out of any woman. And she needs to get rid of the dang men, husband that is in her band.....get an agent and give us dag-on rock and roll concert. She has to give sometime. But she is getting up there in age, and maybe too late.
