2024-06-11 - We've identified a mistake in the specifications provided in this video, stemming from incorrect information given by Gretsch before filming. The original spec sheet indicated that this guitar had 'Laminated Basswood' back and sides, similar to the Rex Burst model, and hilariously it still does. However, it has been discovered that this guitar actually has 'Laminated Sapele' back and sides.

Bought one brand new. For the price you really can’t beat it. It doesn’t have any sharp fret edges, and has decent intonation all the way up the neck. Tuners feel cheap, and it sounds about how you’d expect a sub $200 guitar to sound. But it has a unique voice, and plays really well. Don’t expect Martin sound quality, but for someone with 2 kids 5 and under, I’m not worried about leaving this thing on the couch or taking it on a camping trip.

Thanks for a proper review of the concert model -- most of what I've found on CZcams is about the parlor, or the versions with the pickup installed. All well and good, but the concert is skipped or gets very little time...

Bro you play beautifully. I forgot that it was a guitar demo.

I like the finish… it gives it that mahogany look.

Check it out guys the dimensions are real close to a gibson l-oo which is 2900, so if you like the Robert Johnson guitar from the thirties and forties can't beat it, solid high-end woods are getting very expensive, enjoy

The website says Laminated Sapele for the Concert body actually, do we know if that or Basswood is accurate? The other models (Parlor and Dreadnought) do say Basswood, though!

It's basswood. Unfortunately, Gretsch's website lists both their new 2024 guitar models and older models no longer in production, which can be confusing. According to our internal spec sheet, the material is indeed basswood.

Between a Julian Lage Signature OM1 Collings and a Jim Dandy Concert
    ….hmmm I’m a bit stuck here.

Hmmm, some volume warbles during the demo.

Upon further review, and playing the exact guitar itself again, this is just what you get with a $190 guitar teamed up with microphones that catch every nuance.
