We compare the graphics of The Last of Us on PS3, PS4 and PS4 Pro. On PS4 we run The Last of Us Remastered with locked 30 fps @1080p native resolution, on PS4 Pro the resolution is 2160p native with high qulaity shadows activated and as well as 30 fps locked. The Last of Us renders nativly at 720p on PS3, in this comparison the image is scaled up to 2160p.

Divah Engine PS3 had total of 512MB Ram and around 400mb was useable for games, only Sony's first party studios used 100% of Cell Processor, that's why The last of us, Uncharted, Killzone and Heavy Rain had some fantastic graphics.
true, but remember that the remaster was running at twice the framerate of the ps3 version! THAT is what makes the difference, whats the point of having all those textures if they turn into a blur when you move

Kraits they upgrade the shadow on 60 fps on ps4pro in 1080p version.. It will not affect the graphics and the shadow and anti aliasing if you're switching to 30fps or 60fps on a 1080p tv when you're using ps4 pro... But if you're using 4k tv there's a difference between 30fps and 60fps on you're ps4 pro..

Dark_Ranger , the medium settings shadow quality in base ps4 is more close to real life,.. The higher quality shadow on ps4 pro, is not natural,it is to clean and inaccurate... Btw im playing last of us remastered on ps4 pro for the 5th time...

@@Zachd500 The PS4 Pro is where the difference really shows. But it's such details that are completely unnoticeable during gameplay that are improved so that in the end, it really doesn't matter. We all knew that PS4 pro was capable of this.
The PS3 however, really shines here. For a system from 2006 to be able to output such graphics is dazzling to say the least. A true potential, that Naughty Dog utilized to it's very core to create one of - if not, the best experiences you can have on PS3.
Props to both Sony and Naughty Dog for this masterpiece.

The soundtrack used in this video bring me back to all the feels I had when this game originally came out on PS3 on literally my last day of 11th grade. So many feels, and that was my last grade school summer in America that took place between June to September. Such good times back then.

I've played every game you could imagine that is highly reviewed and I've beaten the last of us at least 8 times, from the breathtaking soundtrack, gameplay that is heavily critized as "stellar" by reviewers, graphics at the time, voice acting, storyline, character development, it's all perfect in my opinion.

Over rated for sure. I played it, enjoyed the story. Thought the controls were 'ok' but nothing amazing, caused some bull shit at times that led me to my death.

Extra 512mb ddr3 on ps4 pro is only use for browsing and apps..overall ps4 pro has 8gb ddr5.... Next gen is 16gb ddr6 ... 512mb on ps3 is a big thing on the past..

Resolution does not change Shader Textures or Soft Shadows with AA, They are all Graphics Settings.
You can have a block at 720p that will look like a prettier block at 4K.
This game does amp up the Graphics Settings in each new Console.

I've been playing T.L.O.U. on ps3 last few days first time. Its amazing and better with the storyline, deep characters and music/sound effects. Going to get T.L.O.U. on Ps4 pro now for £6.99 black Friday sale. I'm so glad I bought the PS4 Pro late on as its going to be nearly as good as the PS5 version.

and people still try to talk shit about PS3 when it in fact it has one of the most unique traits in graphics due to the way Sony created it. It still looks good today with games like Mw3, gta V, Mk, Black Ops 2 and a ton of others due to the unusual way they built the PS3 graphics to look. It was annoying for developers to to create games for the PS3 but god damn do they still hold their own today.

Well not much different from ps4 to pro. Other than shadows and resolution and tiny bits and pieces. I can see the ps3 had little contrast compared to the later versions.

The one thing that I don't get is - are we supposed to play the game or zoom into the screen to see the difference in resolution while pausing the game. Coz except of resolution (& AA)- it doesn't seem to justify the cost.

@@Sebulba2000 yeah i think the reason is because they made those games for the resolutions already in mind (ps3 equals 720). Once the gsmes get upgraded to higher res, the textures werent made for tjose resolutions obviously. Feels like they added a sharpener to the textures.
The difference between ps4 and ps4 pro is practically nothing at all. Very little difference.

Ok people, lately I am watching many of these comparasion video because I am thinking between PS3 Slim 1GB and PS4 Slim 1GB. For money I can get way more for PS3, than I can get from PS4, for example, for a 398USD I can get PS3 + 2 joysticks + Last of us + GT6 + PES 2017 + GTA V.
And for that money I can get only PS4 + 1joystick + GTA 5 + PES 2017.
And there is online subsciption. That bothers me a lot. And on other hand on PS3 there is no subscription. In everything PS3 is better, execpt graphics. BUT, IS IT TOO OLD TO BUY IT NOW?

Candyland Games are the most important part when buying a console, and ps3 is way superior to ps4.
RePlayed TV now Is the perfect time to buy a PS3 because the games are so cheap and psn constantly has flash sales. The only thing though is that for some games less people are playing online on the ps3. If multiplayer is really important for you, be aware of this.

David. L Playing last of us in 60fps is a pretty good reason to upgrade.
David. L true but you do see a bigger difference in person than the comparison videos that are on you tube. After I got my 4k tv I bought a pro and switched input between games to see the difference and it's more noticeable than wha t you can tell on CZcams. Still it's not huge but enough. It also depends a lot on the developers because not all games take advantage of the pro equally. Horizon is one of the best examples where u see a huge difference.
David. L On standard size tv you can only se the difference using zoom or looking far objects. But on 65' tv or 75' you see diference in all objects and shadows
