usually another shooter, but when I'm flying solo I use a Pocket 3 that I place on a monopod, or mount to the camera like you have with the GoPro, or just grab and shoot a little BTS between setups.
great video, note, there are dual cold shoe adapters for the hot shoe mount, that way you can have both the gopro and a speedlight or mic mounted on top of the camera, no need for the extended arm beneath the camera. :-)
my next pick up will be the new Hero and the lens mod.. I really liked the 3D cams but editing the footage was dumb imo... the lens mod option looks super easy and functional!
Very interesting setup and something that I’ve been wanting to do. Couple of questions. You have the L-bracket set back so you can fit your hand on the camera, but that also means that you have more of the lens barrel in the video. Why not have the L-bracket twisted forward towards the front of the camera? You’d still have room for your hand and probably wouldn’t show as much or any of the camera lens. I shoot red carpet events so also have to deal with lots of flashes from other photographers as well as my own, have you had this issue and any suggestions for how to overcome it?
While capturing high speed still photos of commercial airplanes taking off using 70-200mm and wondering if I can mount a GoPro to the hot shoe of my Nikon 850 to capture video at the same time? Would video be a blurry mess or would it pan correctly?
What shutter are you using as if you try to capture the back of the camera monitor . It can sometimes get black scrolling bars dues to the monitor refresh rate
Thats so awesone! Thanks a lot Anthony! I I checked it out. However, the image in the GoPro tilts to the side. Max Lense mode is enabled. The lens is also on. Horizon is on. HindSight is activated. What settings did you use so that the image does not tilt? Greetings from Berlin Matthias aka Mulinarius
@@mjztx so the new one, the video has the option to stay locked. Which is what the Max lens would do. Even if u flip the GoPro to the sides vertical or upside down the footage stays locked horizontally
Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do you get your GoPro footage to stay upright as the camera orientation turns? Is that a new feature on newer cameras?
Question!!! If you did the cage could you attach the go pro to the side instead of on top? I'm a wedding photographer that shoots with the holdfast gear strap that holds to cameras and I'm trying to find the best solution for this.
Hi Anthony, question, I have my Gopro max 10. do I need that L-bracket in order for me to maintain the horizontal view of the gopro camera view even in 360 degree turn? that was really awesome. I have tried it multiple ways and one of them is just using the flash mount but my Gropro capture turns to whatever position my camera do. how did you make it stable to horizontal view even in 360 degree turn? please let us know bro.. Thank you.

hi idol i hope you notice me. I hope you will help me with the camera, even if it's not used at first. I want to be a photographer like you. Because I don't have a camera to buy. Because it's expensive.
Do you capture BTS footage? What method has worked for you?
Usually another shooter or another tripod. I usually like third person views of my bts, especially with gimbal work.

I love this solution!!! Just what I've been looking for!
Where have you been in my life. I love this video. Very clear and concise
Thank you!! This was incredibly valuable.
Glad this helped! Now it's time to capture ALL the BTS! :)
@@AnthonyGugliotta Will do 🤠

Agree! Using the special software to reframe 360 views is a lot of work people don't think about!
thank you for sharing theses Bts ! we need more videos like this.
I use a hot shoe mounted action camera and phone mount on my 35mm film camera to record video while shooting on film with the camera
great video. I love the behind the scenes stuff. Thanks again
This was really helpful much appreciated!!
Amazing, thanks for the info 🙏🏻
This is awesome! My only question is as a wedding a photographer does it work with a double harness? And how does it feel when just hanging?
Nice! Would you still be able to attach this to your tripod if needed?
from the looks of it no. A cage or a Lbracket with an extra cold shoe would be a better option if you wanted that.
Gracias Anthony.
😊
This was super helpful.

Great video! I'll do the GoPro 9 with mod lens. mic on GoPro should be good enough so hotshoe not an issue.

😮this is great. Must have
You should definitely get a Smallrig cage
Nice one there!
Awesome!
Still way to go?.. how about the new insta360 go 3? This has also horizon lock as I remember hearing.. that way the setup will me smaller?

Get the new gopro11, it will solve everything and you don’t need the max lenss
@@bvill6749 Why is that? I'm genuinely asking... interested in a setup like this and I have never even touched a go pro before. lol.

Thanks for the reply
Hero10+ Lens Max mod vs Hero11 alone?
is there a way to do this on the DJI OSMO Action 4?

For GoPro11(+) its integrated. For older ones you have to get this lense adapter. This is how i understand this
How are you keeping the GoPro video to stay level when rotating the camera

Ulanzi smart phone holder for me
Will your set up work on a canon r5 with a battery grip on it?
GoPro 9, 10,11,12...?! I have cheaper answer for you. App Horizon Camera, which made vertical video all the time.
Amazing solution low budget 😂 just got it!
Can I use go pro hero 6
So I use a strap… how can I use strap and the L mount 😭

You need the Max Lens Mod to maintain horizontal level/lock by any tile more than 45 degrees.

u can also try GoPro bite mount. it's alittle bit weird and funny but cheap and works.one downside is u can't talk properly n a bit disgusting. haha.
So wait a sec: I can ONLY do this with my 9 IF I get the Max Lens Mod?
I believe the 9 has software horizon lock with some limitations. It's not as wide
@@therenaissanceagency7603 it has it. Just got the Max Lens Mod and it works quite well. Thanks!
@@FranciscoAlvarezTV thanks I thought I had to go buy a max lens you are the best.
